UM Badminton Team Fun Day was successfully held

The UM Badminton Team Fun Day was held successfully on 9 Sep at UM Sports Complex (N8) and there was a total of 80 UM students participating in this activity.

Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) organized this university team Fun Day with the aim to let UM students to interact with the university team members and to experience team training through designated teaching sessions.

In order to let participants know better about our UM Badminton Team, before the introduction to each team member, 4 ice-breaking games with badminton equipment and balloon were arranged, student participants were invited to play the game together with Badminton Team members, and they were become more active and being attracted by team members. After fun games, introduction to team members, team background and past achievements were also presented. Considering that badminton is one of popular sports introduced by middle school, students may already have a general idea on the rules, however, some rules and regulations about singles and doubles may be confused by others, therefore, a Q&A session on rules were being arranged, team members hosted this session and participants were become more clear about the rules and skills. After that, participants experienced two different kinds of training (basic skills and technical skills). In addition, students had joined the exchange match and interacted with our u-team members on singles and doubles. Finally, team members arranged three performing matches among them, they were Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles and Mixed Doubles.

Both the participants and badminton team members enjoyed a lot in the Fun Day with positive feedback.
