第二十八屆「21世紀杯」全國英語演講比賽全國總決賽2023年10月10日於江蘇太倉舉行,來自澳大社會科學學院、紹邦書院及澳大英語演講隊四年級學生肖姝瑤奪得全國二等獎。
「21世紀杯」全國英語演講比賽由中國日報社於1996年創辦,是國內最具學術性與權威性的大學生英語演講比賽之一,爲國家級A類學科競賽。該比賽以“讓世界傾聽你的聲音”爲宗旨,曆年來誕生了衆多優秀選手,如外交部翻譯張京、CCTV英語頻道主播劉欣、央視駐白宮首席記者王冠等。
本屆比賽大學組以“我對文明的詮釋”爲題,歷時6個月,從全國內地各省及港澳颱各賽區選拔出88名優秀選手在全國總決賽決賽同颱競技。在決賽中,經過4分鐘已備演講,2分鐘即席演講和2分鐘現場問答三個環節的緊張角逐之後,最終評出44位三等獎、32位二等獎與12位一等獎。
澳大肖姝瑤同學以“Self-Connection: Unfold The Core Of Civilization”爲題,深入探討了文明快速發展進程中人類如何面對自我需求,追溯文明內核的問題,並憑藉流利的即興演講與問答獲得全國總決賽二等獎,代表澳門賽區選手接受來自中國日報的採訪。
澳門大學英語演講隊創立於2008年,已連續多年參與21世紀盃全國英語演講比賽澳門分賽與全國總決賽並榮獲良好成績,隊員們會再接再厲繼續為澳門大學爭取優秀成績。

UM Public Speaking Team member won the second prize at the 28th “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition
Xiao Shuyao, a fourth-year student from Faculty of Social Sciences, Shiu Pong College and UM Public Speaking Team won the second prize at the Grand Final of 28th “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition held in Taicang, Jiangsu Province on 10 October 2023.
Founded by China Daily in 1996, the “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition is one of the most authoritative English speech contests in China. With the theme of “My Interpretation of Civilization”, the competition of this year lasted for six months, selecting 88 outstanding contestants from all over the country to compete in the grand final.
UM student Xiao Shuyao won the second prize in the grand final with her thought-provoking prepared speech and fluent impromptu speech. Additionally, she had the opportunity to be interviewed by China Daily as a representative of the contestants from Macao.
Founded in 2008, the UM Public Speaking Team has participated in the “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition in Macao and the grand final for many years, achieving excellent results. The team members will continue to strive and achieve outstanding performances for the University of Macau.
In the event of any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
