Are you looking to conquer your stage fright, leave a lasting impression on your audience, and become a more confident public speaker? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

This workshop is the first in the “World of Public Speaking” series of workshops organized by UM Public Speaking Team. Led by our experienced coach, Natacha Ilagan, along with our dedicated team members, this workshop will provide you with valuable insights and techniques to enhance your public speaking skills.

During the workshop, you will:
1. Discover strategies to reduce anxiety and build confidence on stage.
2. Learn how to make a powerful first impression on your audience.
3. Acquire effective public speaking techniques and tips from experienced speakers.

Additionally, there will be plenty of opportunities to interact with fellow participants and the team through ice-breaker games. Light snacks will also be provided to keep your energy up throughout the session.

澳門大學廣東話辯論隊連續兩年勝出恒澳廣東話辯論交流賽

澳門大學廣東話辯論隊於3月24日在香港恒生大學舉行“恒澳廣東話辯論交流賽”。是次活動目的是與香港恒生大學辯論隊互相切磋及交流，以促進雙方辯技。

是次比賽的辯題為港府應立法推行社區治療令，正方澳門大學派出主辯工商管理學院一年級及馬萬祺羅柏心書院黃煒喆、第一副辯教育學院三年級及蔡繼有書院黃穎輝、第二副辯社會科學學院三年級及紹邦書院邱垚源、結辯法學院一年級及滿珍紀念書院羅仲謙以及台下發問人文學院二年級及紹邦書院曹梓樂和科技學院一年級及霍英東珍禧書院李金燕。

正方主要提出香港精神問題嚴重，導致社會事件頻發，反映出現時對於精神病患的保障有所不足，需要推行社區治療令以填補漏洞，並且透過立法手段可以令社會更正視精神問題，達成社會共識以投入更多資源：反方則質疑若立法推行社區治療令，必然要運用大量資源，但現時資源不足，難以執行，更甚會標籤病患侵犯人權。

比賽結果為2:1由正方澳門大學勝出，過程中正方法學院一年級及滿珍紀念書院的羅仲謙更斬獲最佳辯論員獎項。

UM Cantonese Debating Team won the Cantonese Debating Competition with Hang Seng University of Hong Kong Second Year in a Row

UM Cantonese Debating Team participated in the “Hang Seng University of Hong Kong-Macau University Cantonese Debating Competition” held on 24th March in Hong Kong. The purpose of this event was to engage in mutual learning and exchange with the debating team from Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, in order to promote the skills of both teams.

The debating topic for this competition was whether the Hong Kong government should legislate for the implementation of community treatment orders. The affirmative team from the University of Macau consisted of the first speaker, Wong Wai Chit from FBA & MLC; the second speaker, Wong Weng Fai from FED & CKYC; the third speaker, QIU YaoYuan from the FSS & SPC; the concluding speaker, Lo Chong Him, from FLL & MCMC; and the questioners, Chou Chi Lok from FHS & SPC, and Lei Kam In from FST & HFPJC.

The affirmative team primarily argued that there is a serious issue with the Hong Kong mentality, leading to frequent social incidents. They pointed out the inadequacy of current safeguards for mental patients and emphasized the need to implement community treatment orders to fill in the gaps. They also argued that legislation can raise awareness of mental health issues in society and achieve social consensus, leading to increased resource allocation. On the other hand, the negative team questioned the feasibility of implementing community treatment orders due to insufficient resources, emphasizing the potential violation of patients’ rights and the labeling of patients.

In the end, the University of Macau affirmative team won the debate with a score of 2:1, Lo Chong Him, a Year 1 student from FLL & MCMC, was awarded the Best Debater award during the competition.

2024澳門大學英語演講比賽成功舉辦

澳門大學演講隊於4月9日成功聯合舉辦了2024澳門大學英語演講比賽。

本次演講比賽以“Cybersecurity and Its Impact on Today’s Youth”為主題，匯聚了9位優秀的選手參賽，並邀請到來自澳門大學英語中心的兩位高級講師Dr. Jean-Paul DuQuette 和Ms. Vivian CHAPLIN以及企業培訓師Ms. Trinayani Goswami作為評委。

2024澳門大學英語演講比賽的決賽選手如下：

比賽結束後，評審們對所有決賽選手的出色表現表示讚賞，並在比賽結束時提供了有價值的反饋意見。他們熱切期待未來能見證更多具有創新思想的演講。

本次比賽相信不論是參賽選手還是觀眾都通過這次比賽感受到了演講的魅力與演講內容傳遞出的思想力量。儘管結果可能未達到每個人的期望，這次經歷無疑是寶貴的，將有助於選手們作為演講者的成長。澳大演講隊期待未來舉辦更多推廣演講的活動。

UM Public Speaking Team Organizes UM English Speech Contest 2024

The UM Public Speaking Team (PST) organized the UM English Speech Contest 2024, with the theme “Cybersecurity and Its Impact on Today’s Youth.” The contest featured nine outstanding contestants from the UM Public Speaking Team. The organizing committee was honored to have three judges for the contest: Dr. Jean-Paul DuQuette, UM English Language Centre Senior Instructor; Ms. Vivian Chaplin, UM English Language Centre Senior Instructor; and Ms. Trinayani Goswami, an Organizational Coach and Corporate Trainer. Their expertise and insights added tremendous value to the event.

After the competition, Vidette Camilla Manansala from FSS and MLC won the championship, Marvin Wang Han Yu from FAH and CYTC won the second prize, and Giuliana Yang Ai from FBA and LCWC won the third prize.

The judges expressed their appreciation for the outstanding performances of all the finalists and provided valuable feedback at the end of the competition. They eagerly look forward to witnessing more speeches with innovative ideas in the future.

The UM Public Speaking Team commends all contestants, including the aforementioned finalists, for their dedication and courage throughout the contest. Although the results may not have met everyone’s expectations, this experience is invaluable and will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of the participants as speakers. The team extends its gratitude to all working personnel and participants. PST believes that the next opportunity will be even more remarkable and looks forward to organizing more engaging events in the future.

UM English Debating Team Successfully Organizes the 3rd Greater Bay Area University English Debating Competition

澳大英辯隊成功舉辦第三屆大灣區大學生英語辯論賽

       為促進大灣區優秀青年的學術交流，澳門大學和“外研社･國才杯”全國大學生英語辯論賽組委會第三次聯合舉辦“2024外研社英語辯論公開賽（大灣區聯賽）暨第三屆粵港澳大灣區大學生英語辯論賽＂吸引來自北京外國語大學、上海財經大學、浙江大學等知名學府的98支隊伍、196位優秀辯手們參與，高校雲集，競爭激烈。經過多輪角逐，澳門大學英辯隊披荊斬棘，突破重圍，頂住壓力，於五輪積分循環賽後高分晉級，又歷經三輪淘汰賽，最終一舉奪下大學組季軍，摘得多個獎項，為隊內又添榮譽。

       澳大英辯隊派出三支隊伍參賽，三支隊伍都從九十八支隊伍中脫穎而出順利晉級。其中一支晉級大學組，及順利打入大學組決賽。在三輪淘汰賽後，來自人文學院及蔡繼有書院的張幼溪，工商管理學院及鄭裕彤書院的崔嘉惠奪得大學組季軍；另外兩支晉級公開組，分別進入公開組半決賽和八分之一決賽。   

       儘管抱憾止步公開組半決賽，我隊成員在強手如林的公開組辯出風采，辯出水準，辯出高度。澳大榮譽學院、科技學院及曹光彪書院的哈澳瑪卡山娜，人文學院及蔡繼有書院的王熙睿分別奪得公開組第八、第十最佳辯手；澳大榮譽學院、人文學院及鄭裕彤書院的王含玉，社會科學學院及滿珍紀念書院的陳俊鍇並列奪得大學組第二最佳辯手。全體參賽成員均在賽事中摘得大小獎項若干，滿載而歸。

       澳門大學英語辯論隊於本學期積極參與各項大小賽事，在比賽中以優異的表現和運動員精神技驚四座，艷壓群芳，給其他選手們留下了深刻的印象。我隊成員對英語辯論的熱忱極大程度上推動了大灣區英語辯論事業的發展，起到了模範帶頭作用。

 

UM English Debating Team Successfully Organizes the 3rd Greater Bay Area University English Debating Competition

 

The University of Macau (UM) and the organising committee of ‘FLTRP · ETIC Cup’ National English Debating Competition recently jointly held the 2024 FLTRP English Debate Open (Macao), which was also the Inaugural Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Universities Debating Championship. This competition attracted 98 teams and 196 outstanding debaters from renowned institutions such as Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Zhejiang University. Through numerous rounds of fierce competition, the University of Macau English Debating Team overcame challenges, persevered under pressure, and secured a high score in the five-round league, followed by three elimination rounds. Ultimately, they clinched the third place (second runner-up) in the university category, earning multiple awards and bringing honor to the team.

 

The University of Macau English Debating Team sent three strong teams to the competition, all of which lived up to expectations and successfully advanced from the initial 98 teams. One of the teams advanced to the university category and subsequently entered the university finals. After three grueling rounds of elimination, Usee Zhang from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Grace Chui from the Faculty of Business Administration, respectively representing Choi Kai Yau College and Cheng Yu Tung College, achieved the third place (2nd runner-up) in the university category. The other two teams advanced to the open category, reaching the semi-finals and Octofinals, respectively.

 

Although stopping at the semi-finals of the open category, our team members showcased their talent, skills, and expertise in a highly competitive field. Ali Omar Kassana from the Honours College, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and Chao Kuang Piu College earned the 8th Best Speaker awards in the open category. Siri Wang from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Choi Kai Yau College won the 10th best speaker in the open category. Along with Marvin Wang from the Honours College, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Cheng Yu Tung College and Jack Chan from the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Moon Chun Memorial College were jointly awarded the 2nd Best Speaker in the university category. All participating members returned with several awards, marking a successful and rewarding participation.

 

Throughout the semester, the University of Macau English Debating Team actively participated in various competitions, impressing others with their outstanding performance and sportsmanship. Their remarkable achievements have made a lasting impression on fellow participants. The team’s enthusiasm for English debate has significantly contributed to the development of the English debate culture in the Greater Bay Area, serving as an inspiring in the area.

第十八屆澳門大學普通話辯論賽圓滿結束

由澳門大學學生事務部和澳門大學普通話辯論隊主辦，演辯人同盟提供技術支持的“第十八屆澳門大學普通話辯論賽”決賽於三月十七日在澳門大學伍宜孫圖書館演講廳順利舉行。獲得冠軍的同學包括人文學院、張崑崙書院的張鈺芃，教育學院、滿珍紀念書院的羅黃尹，法學院、紹邦書院的張陶然，以及人文學院、滿珍紀念書院的張雨欣。社會科學學院、霍英東珍禧書院的陳泓熹獲得“全程最佳辯手”；社會科學學院研究生俞小坤同學獲得“全程最佳新人”。

季軍賽辯題是“中學校園應不應該禁售碳酸飲料”，正方“花兒與少年隊”，反方“接質只說對對隊”經過精彩的比拼，最終“接質只說對對隊”以4：11的成績擊敗對方，社會科學學院、馬萬祺羅柏心書院的謝藝蕊，社會科學學院、霍英東珍禧書院的陳泓熹，社會科學學院、蔡繼有書院的賀子淇，人文學院，滿珍紀念書院的吳桐以及人文學院，呂志和書院的朱子晴獲得季軍。

冠軍賽由“無名之隊”對“新的一年發大財隊”，圍繞辯題“生成型人工智能聊天系統對教育發展利大於弊/弊大於利”，展開緊張刺激的辯論。最終“無名之隊”以8比 7擊敗對手，獲得冠軍。“新的一年發大財隊”獲得亞軍，隊員分別是來自中華醫藥研究學院研究生張帆，工商管理學院、馬萬祺羅柏心書院的韋丹悦，教育學院研究生季婉婷、工商管理學院、紹邦書院的何佳琪以及工商管理學院、蔡繼有書院的婁書豪。

賽事有幸邀請到澳門大學傳播系教授、澳門大學普通話辯論隊總教練尹德剛教授，資深時事評論員湯耐冬先生，澳門大學普通話辯論隊教練胡楷琦先生、中華名辯盟理事會副主席羅樂小姐、澳門演辯學會理事長蒲夢路先生。

近一個月的澳門大學普通話辯論賽不僅讓參賽同學獲得了寶貴的訓練和提升，同時也讓校內熱愛辯論的同學們感受到了辯論的樂趣和美好。他們展現出色的辯才和努力不僅贏得了獎項和寶貴的經驗，同時也推動了校內普通話辯論的發展和交流。在此，我們衷心感謝所有參與比賽的同學們，他們以精彩的表現為我們呈現了一場精彩絕倫的比賽。期待明年能見證更多卓越的表現！

The 18th UM Mandarin Debating Contest Was Held Successfully

Organized by the Student Affairs Office of the University of Macau and the Macau University Mandarin Debating Team, with technical support from the Macao Speech & Debate League, the final round of the competition was held on March 17th at the Wu Yee Sun Library Lecture Hall of the University of Macau. The champions of the competition included Zhang Yu Peng from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Cheong Kun Lun College; Luo Huang Yin from the Faculty of Education and the Moon Chun Memorial College; Zhang Tao Ran from the Faculty of Law and the Shiu Pong College; and Zhang Yu Xin from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Moon Chun Memorial College. Chen Hong Xi from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College was awarded “Best-Debater”; and Yu Xiao Kun, a postgraduate student from the Faculty of Social Sciences, was awarded “Best Newbie”.

The semi-final debate topic was “Should carbonated drinks be banned in secondary school campuses?” The proposition team, named “花兒與少年隊,” and the opposition team, named “接質只說對對隊,” engaged in a fierce battle. In the end, “接質只說對對隊” defeated their opponents with a score of 11 to 4, securing the third place. The team members included Xie Yi Rui from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College; Chen Hong Xi from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College; He Zi Qi from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Choi Kai Yau College; Wu Tong from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Moon Chun Memorial College; and Zhu Zi Qing from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Lui Che Woo College.

In the championship debate, the team “無名之隊” faced off against the team 新的一年發大財隊” The debate revolved around the topic “Generative AI chat systems in educational development outweigh the drawbacks/ The drawbacks outweigh the benefits.” The debate was intense and exciting, and in the end, “無名之隊” emerged victorious with a score of 8 to 7, claiming the championship. “新的一年發大財隊” took the second place, with team members Zhang Fan from the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences; Wei Dan Yue from the Faculty of Business Administration and the Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College; Ji Wan Ting, a postgraduate student from the Faculty of Education, He Jia Qi from the Faculty of Business Administration and the Shiu Pong College; and Lou Shu Hao from the Faculty of Business Administration and the Choi Kai Yau College.

The competition was honored to have Professor Yin De Gang, a professor from the Department of Communication of the University of Macau and the head coach of the Mandarin Debating Team of UM; Mr. Tang Nai Dong, a senior current affairs commentator; Mr. Hu Kai Qi, a coach of the Mandarin Debating Team of UM; Ms. Luo Le, Vice Chairperson of the Chinese Debate Association, and Mr. Pu Meng Lu, President of the Macao Speech and Debate Association, as judges.

The UM Mandarin Debating Contest of the past month has not only provided valuable training and improvement for the participating students but also allowed students who love debating on campus to experience the joy and beauty of debating. Their outstanding eloquence and efforts have not only won them awards and valuable experience but have also promoted the development and exchange of Mandarin Debating on campus. We sincerely thank all the students who participated in the contest for presenting us with such a splendid event. We look forward to witnessing more outstanding performances next year!

UMCDT致力於推動粵語辯論活動，與本地及香港的大專院校合作，提升演辯能力並促進交流。

隊員福利及義務

被正式錄取為辯論隊隊員可享有以下福利：
· 免費參加本隊的訓練以及獲得辯論知識指導。
· 享有被推薦參加暑期交流計劃及獲取補貼的機會。
· 享有參與與本隊相關的校內外其他活動的機會。
· 每學年出席率達80%的團員可獲全人發展獎勵計劃400個Special A。

隊員義務
· 準時出席每週的常規訓練及賽前加練。

各位同學：

第十八屆澳門大學普通話辯論賽決賽將於二零二四年三月十七日(星期日)舉行。現誠邀各位同學蒞臨觀賽。賽事詳情如下：

日期：2024年3月17日（星期日）

地點：E2 – G012 (澳門大學伍宜孫圖書館演講廳)

時間：13:00-15:00 季軍賽：中學校園應/不應禁售碳酸飲料

觀賽同學將獲得每一場 1粒至叻星及20個「知識整合能力 」的分數 (即CS) 。請注意，只有擁有賽前和賽後兩次拍卡記錄的同學才能獲得上述獎勵。

觀眾憑票入場，兩場比賽觀賽之門票將於3月11日早上10:00開始發放。門票領取地點為E31-2007前台，每位學生最多領取兩場比賽之門票各一張，每場比賽觀賽之門票限80張，先到先得。

第一屆澳門英語辯論公開賽圓滿結束

由澳門大學英語辯論隊、澳門大學學生會英語辯論協會及國際青少辯論和演講協會主辦的“第一屆澳門英語辯論公開賽”於二月二十四及二十五日在澳門大學學生活動中心劇場順利舉行。

為了讓大賽選手有更加充分的準備，邀請了世界知名辯手為選手提供免費培訓，培訓時間為二月十六日至二十二日，在線舉行。邀請到的講師包括世界冠軍、劍橋大學的David Africa，亞洲冠軍、馬尼拉典耀大學的Rivaldo Aquino，歐洲冠軍、都柏林聖三一學院的Jack Palmer，以及全國冠軍、澳門大學的李佳能。培訓內容涉及人工智能、經濟以及倫理學。培訓講座深受參賽選手喜愛，每場出席人數均超過一百人。

大賽設公開組、新手組和中學組三個組別。比賽先進行了五場循環積分賽，而後按積分排行晉級。公開組晉級十六支隊伍，進行四分之一決賽，進一步比拼後八支隊伍進入半決賽，最後晉級四支隊伍在總決賽角逐總冠軍。新手組及中學組晉級八支隊伍，開展半決賽。兩個組別最後均有四隊晉級至總決賽，爭奪各組別的冠軍。賽事設公開組、新手組與中學組總決賽冠軍及公開組、新手組與中學組最佳辯手六項獎項。

在六十六支隊伍的激烈的角逐後，來自工商管理學院、鄭裕彤書院的朱帥榕晉級公開組決賽，來自科技學院、曹光彪書院的Omar Kassana Jimenez Ali和社會科學學院、霍英東珍禧書院的張楷晉級公開組四分之一決賽；來自人文學院、蔡繼有書院的王熙睿、社會科學學院，張崑崙書院的王思哲，教育學院、霍英東珍禧書院的吳翊諾，人文學院、馬萬祺羅柏心書院的李宛軒晉級新手組決賽；來自人文學院、紹邦書院的李紫軒，人文學院、鄭裕彤書院的王含玉，人文學院、蔡繼有書院的張幼溪，人文學院，紹邦書院的梁巧妮晉級新手組半決賽；來自人文學院、鄭裕彤書院的王含玉，社會科學學院、張崑崙書院的王思哲，社會科學學院、滿珍紀念書院的陳俊鍇，分別獲得新手組第二、第三和第五最佳辯手。

澳門英語辯論公開賽的前身為澳門大學新手杯，受疫情的衝擊一度轉為線上舉辦。作為疫情後第一次線下比賽，主辦方增設了公開組和中學組，吸引了大量港澳及內地的高水準辯手參賽。澳門大學英語辯論隊的同學在激烈的競爭中唇槍舌劍，脫穎而出，助力推進澳門地區高校英語辯論賽事的發展。同時，參賽者們表示，他們不僅從經驗豐富的裁判們收獲了寶貴的建議和激動人心的線下比賽體驗，還獲得了參觀澳門大學這所高等院校的機會，飽覽了澳門繁華秀麗的城市風光。澳門英語辯論公開賽還給參賽者們提供了認識來自五湖四海的朋友的良好平台，令大家在切磋中增進友誼，並在比賽結束時約定：期待與你在下一次比賽相見！

 

 

The first Macau Debate Open 2024 was held successfully

Organized by the UM English Debating Team (UM EDT), UM Students’ Union English Debating Society (UMSUEDS), and the International Youth Debate & Speech Association (YDSA), Macau Debate Open 2024 (MDO 2024) was successfully held on February 24th and 25th at the Student Activity Center Theater of the University of Macau.

In order to provide participants with comprehensive preparation, the organizing committee invited world-renowned debaters to offer free training. The training sessions took place online from February 16th to 22nd. Esteemed speakers included David Africa, the World Champion from the University of Cambridge; Rivaldo Aquino, the Asian Champion from Manila De La Salle University; Jack Palmer, the European Champion from Trinity College Dublin; and Li Jianeng, the National Champion from the University of Macau. The training covered various topics including artificial intelligence, economics, and ethics. The lectures were highly appreciated by the participating contestants, resulting in attendance exceeding one hundred people per session.

The competition consisted of three categories: Open, Novice, and School categories. The event commenced with five rounds of round-robin matches, followed by advancement based on accumulated points. In the Open category, sixteen teams progressed to the quarter-finals, from which eight teams emerged to compete in the semi-finals. The top four teams from the semi-finals then competed in the Grand Final for the ultimate championship title. Similarly, in the Novice and School categories, eight teams advanced to the semi-finals. Ultimately, four teams from each category advanced to the Grand Final, vying for the championship titles in their respective categories. The competition culminated with the presentation of six prestigious accolades: the Grand Final Championship titles for the Open, Novice, and School categories, as well as the distinguished recognition of the Best Debater award in each category.

After fierce competition among 66 teams, Aaron, Zhu Shuairong from FBA & CYTC advanced to the Grand Final of the Open category. Omar Kassana Jimenez Ali from FST & CKPC, as well as Zhang Kai from FSS & HFPJC, reached the quarter-finals of the Open category. Siri, Wang XiRui from FAH & CKYC, Archie, Wang Sizhe from FSS & CKLC, Norah, Wu YiNuo from FED & HFPJC, and Leanna, Lei Un Hin from FAH & MLC, advanced to the Novice Grand Final. In the Novice category semi-finals, Ciara, Li ZiXuan from FAH & SPC, Marvin, Wang HanYu from FAH & CYTC, Usee, Zhang Youxi from FAH & CKYC, and Jacqueline Leong Hao Nei from FAH & SPC, made it through. Additionally, Marvin, Wang HanYu from FAH & CYTC, Archie, Wang Sizhe from FSS & CKLC, and Jack, Chen Chon Kai from FSS & MCMC, were awarded the 2nd Best Novice Debater, 3rd Best Novice Debater, and 5th Best Novice Debater, respectively.

Macau Debate Open (MDO), formerly known as the University of Macau (UM) Novice Cup, was temporarily shifted to an online format due to the impact of the pandemic. As the first offline competition after the pandemic, the organizers introduced the Open Division and School Division, attracting a significant number of highly skilled debaters from Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China. Students from the University of Macau English Debating Team (UM EDT) showcased their eloquence and wit amidst intense competition, contributing to the advancement of English debating in the Macau region. Participants expressed their gratitude for the valuable advice provided by the experienced panel of judges and the thrilling offline competition experience. It was a great opportunity for debaters to visit the University of Macau, while immersing themselves in the vibrant and picturesque cityscape of Macau. Macau Debate Open served as an excellent platform for participants to forge connections with friends from diverse backgrounds, fostering friendships through intellectual exchanges. As the competition came to a close, participants eagerly agreed: “We look forward to meeting you again in the next competition!”

隊員福利及義務

2024 Macau Debate Open (English) – Open Grand Final

We are excited to announce the upcoming “2024 Macau Debate Open (MDO)”. Building upon the success of the  “UM Novice Cup,” we are committed to providing accessible and high-quality debating experiences for students in Macau, Hong Kong, and mainland China.

The Open Grand Final of MDO will take place on February 25th at 16:00 in the E31-SAC Theatre. This thrilling event will showcase critical thinking, persuasive arguments, and eloquent delivery in the British Parliamentary (BP) format. Participants from around the world, including the host UM English Debating Team and Youth Debate & Speech Association, will be present.

We invite all UM students to join as spectators and witness this intellectual dialogue. As observers, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow from this unforgettable experience. 

Please note that registration is limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure your spot, please fill out the attached registration form by 24 February 2024. For more information and updates, please join the WeChat group using the provided QR codes and links. The starting time of the Open Grand Final may be subject to delay depending on the completion of previous rounds.
