MCM College: Camões House Presents “Italian Food Culture” with Prof. Nevia Dolcini
On Saturday, 18th November, 2023, Li Yafang & Maribel Soares Diogo, Resident Assistants of Camões House, organised a special workshop to promote internationalism and cultural inclusivity: traditionally celebrated at the college. The event, Italian Food Culture, began at noon, with College Senior Fellow, Prof. Nevia Dolcini (FAH) introducing traditional food preparation, cooking pasta and also special tips to ensure the dish is made to perfection.
Pasta all’amatriciana, as the name suggests, originates from Amatrice, Italy. Although its history is nuanced and dates back to the 1700’s, amatriciana sauce is generally prepared from olive oil, cured pork, canned tomatoes, red chillies, and pecorino cheese. It is easy to make, and is perfect for any occasion.
