Dear colleagues and students,

Service learning embodies the spirit of applying the knowledge learned to serve others and contribute to society. This issue of My UM explores the service learning opportunities UM provides for undergraduate students through community and peer education, experiential teaching, and student organisations. We also feature interviews with three students who participated in different service activities, where they share the experiences and insights they gained through community service. In our People’s Story column, we feature an interview with Ken Cheong, an outstanding young entrepreneur in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and an alumni of UM. He shares with us his journey of becoming an entrepreneur, from working as a part-time drafter at an engineering company to starting his own engineering company. His company has undertaken a variety of projects, including the Guia Hill Pedestrian Tunnel, making significant contributions to the engineering industry in Macao.
