Introduction

Public Speaking Team, which was founded in 2008, aims to provide an excellent chance for its members to learn public speaking skills, improve English language proficiency, develop creative thinking, enhance the confidence of the students in making speeches in public and promote English on the campus. Proactive attitudes, persistent efforts, a sense of responsibility and teamwork among all the members are the team spirit that we advocate. We will provide not only professional training but also chances to discover and apply the knowledge through practicing and communicating in an active atmosphere. Besides speaking, members are also encouraged to THINK as thinking helps generate new ideas and opinions. We also encourage students to observe more about local and global issues. Without an understanding of global issues around this changing world and the local issues that everyone should be keenly aware of, the speaker will hardly deliver a substantial and sparkling speech that creates echoes from the audience. We welcome all ambiguous students to join the Public Speaking Family!

 

Activities and competition achievement

Besides regular training, our team would like to encourage all the team members to get involved in all kinds of competitions. In the 21st Macao-wide English Speech Contest – Final, the First Runner-up was given to our team members. In the 20th Macao-wide English Speech Contest – Final, the First Runner-up and Second Runner-up were given to our team members. In the 17th Macao-wide English Speech Contest – Final, the Champion, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up, Best Impromptu Speech, Best Manners and 5 Merit Awards were given to our team members. What’s more, we had many kinds of rewards in the Asian English Olympics, The “21st Century Coca-Cola Cup” National English-Speaking Competition, and many other competitions.

 

Training Schedule

• Every Tuesday night from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm;
• Other special training according to university schedule;

 

Welfare of UM PST Members

• Join our training and gain instructions on public speaking skills for free;
• Enjoy the chance to be recommended to take part in the Summer Programmes and get subsidies;
• Enjoy the chance to take part in various activities and competitions regarding UMPST;
• Those whose attendance is over 80% throughout the whole academic year can get 400 points in the Whole Person Development Award Programme;

 

Members’ Obligation

• Attend weekly regular training and additional training;
• Take part in the competitions and performances hosted by UMPST;

Requirements

Interested students; Priority for good command of both written and spoken English applicants and those who are willing to participate in competitions and training.

演講隊簡介

創立於二○○八年之演講隊，致力提供一個讓同學們學習演講技巧、提高英語能力、培養創造性思維、增強學生公開演說之自信心的平臺以及在校園內推廣英語。積極主動的態度，堅持不懈的努力，責任感和團隊精神都是我們主張的團隊意念。我們不單止為隊員們提供專業的培訓和全面的支持，同時亦讓同學們在互動的學習環境下，通過實踐及交流提高演講的綜合能力。除了「說」，我們亦鼓勵隊員們多思考，因為思考有助於產生新的想法和意念。與此同時，我們也鼓勵學生多觀察和留意地區性以至全球性的資訊。作為一位講者，要了解大眾所知的本地智識，以至時刻在改變的國際形勢，這樣才能把一份演講稿發揮得淋漓盡致，跟聽眾產生共鳴。在此，我們誠邀有抱負、有責任感、願意為澳門大學演講隊爭光的你加入演講隊的大家庭！

 

活動與比賽簡介

除了每週固定的訓練之外，本隊幾乎每年都會組織隊員們一起參加澳門大學校內、英語演講大賽亞洲英語奧林匹克比賽，全澳英語演講大賽、「21世紀杯」全國英語演講比賽等等，均有獲得驕人的成績。值得一提的是，在第21屆全澳英語演講大賽中，我隊獲得了大學組的亞軍；在第20屆全澳英語演講大賽中，我隊獲得了大學組的亞軍、季軍；2019年「外研社」全國英語演講大賽中，我隊獲得了閱讀一等獎，演講二等獎的好成绩；在第17屆全澳英語演講大賽中，我隊獲得了大學組的冠、亞、季軍、最佳即席演講、最佳風度獎及五個優異獎，共十個獎項的好成績。

 

訓練時間

• 每週二晚上七點半到九點；
• 其他安排依據澳門大學校曆及具體訓練安排調整；

 

正式隊員可享有以下福利

• 每週接受專業教練指導以及參加國際演講大師工作坊（具體安排待定）；
• 享有被推薦參加暑期交流計劃及爭取學校津貼的機會；
• 享有參與與本團相關的校內外其他比賽，活動的機會；
• 每學年出席率達80%的團員可獲全人發展獎勵計劃400個分數；

 

團員義務

• 準時出席每週的常規訓練及其他特殊訓練；
• 參加澳門大學校內外各項比賽活動；

招收要求

男女不限，英語水平較高者、對演講有熱情，積極參加各項活動比賽，且能夠準時出席訓練者優先招收。
