澳大邀港中大教授談學術研究和創業

澳門大學將於3月20日(星期三)舉辦“大學講壇”,邀請香港中文大學卓敏內科及藥物治療學講座教授、前香港中文大學醫學院院長陳家亮以“學術研究至創業間的不可能任務”為題發表演說,分享其從學術研究到創業夢想的歷程,歡迎有興趣人士參加。

陳家亮的研究專注於運用抗血栓藥和鎮痛藥預防胃腸道出血,並在此領域擁有豐富的臨床研究經驗。此外,他亦是香港微生物菌群創新中心聯合總監及香港精進微生物科技有限公司共同創始人。陳家亮將於講座中分享他如何走出舒適圈,創立了香港首個微生物菌群研發中心,並講述這如何為下一代的健康和希望帶來福祉。

陳家亮是世界著名的腸胃道疾病臨床醫生科學家,他於2011年獲香港中文大學理學博士學位,並於2018年獲日本大阪市立大學授予榮譽博士學位。他在腸胃道疾病學方面的貢獻和領導力得到世界各地的認可,並榮獲多項國際榮譽和獎項。他的研究將微生物組創新轉化為早期疾病檢測、預防和治療的臨床應用,並在美國和歐洲獲得多項專利。

CUHK professor to give talk at UM on academic research and entrepreneurship

As part of the University Lecture Series, the University of Macau (UM) will hold a talk titled ‘The Impossible Quest from Academic Research to Entrepreneurship’ on Wednesday 20 March. Francis Ka Leung Chan, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and former dean of the Faculty of Medicine of CUHK, will be the speaker. Prof Chan specialises in the use of anti-thrombotic agents and analgesics for the prevention of gastrointestinal haemorrhage and has extensive clinical research experience in the field. During the talk, he will share his journey of transforming from a scholar into an entrepreneur, and talk about how he stepped out of his comfort zone to establish the first microbiome research centre in Hong Kong.

The talk will start at 11:30am in the Lecture Hall of the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering (N23-G016) and will be conducted in English.
