澳大校長出席博鰲亞洲論壇並訪問海南大學

澳門大學校長宋永華應邀出席博鰲亞洲論壇2024年年會,與全球60多個國家和地區的近2,000名與會嘉賓共商亞洲與世界面臨的挑戰與機遇,並就世界發展中的共同利益和責任進行深入探討,推動世界走向和平與繁榮的道路。

宋永華接受中央廣播電視總台訪問時表示,今年是澳門回歸祖國25周年,澳門在國家高質量發展中能有著自己的獨特使命,未來將繼續充分利用橫琴粵澳深度合作區的政策優勢,在基礎科研、人才引進和國際合作等方面發揮作用。他還提到,澳大將致力於推動粵港澳大灣區成為國際科技創新中心,助力國家發展新質生產力。

在“人工智能全球治理”的分論壇上,宋永華強調教育在AI發展中的重要性,並呼籲向學生和社會各層面人士推廣AI教育,特别是在AI倫理、道德和法律方面。他表示,澳大積極與內地頂尖高校合作,共同發起世界數字教育聯盟、數智教育發展國際大學聯盟等高等教育共同體的建設,為AI教育貢獻力量。

此外,宋永華還率領澳大策略及規劃辦公室主任柳智毅等一行訪問海南大學,獲其黨委書記符宣國、副校長陳駿等熱情接待。宋永華在會談期間表示,澳門大學和海南大學多年來一直保持著友好的合作關係,未來將進一步深化學術交流、探索人才聯合培養。他指出,兩校都處於獨特的地理位置,肩負著特殊的歷史使命,因此更應當強強聯手,優勢互補,共同把握建設粵港澳大灣區和海南自貿港的發展機遇,為中國高等教育發展作出更大的貢獻。

UM rector attends Boao Forum for Asia and visits Hainan University

Yonghua Song, rector of the University of Macau (UM), attended the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2024, where he joined nearly 2,000 guests from more than 60 countries and regions around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Asia and the world and explore in depth common interests and responsibilities in the development of the world.

In an interview with the China Media Group, Song said that UM is committed to promoting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as an international innovation and technology centre to help the country develop new quality productive forces. Speaking at a panel discussion on the theme ‘Global AI Governance’ held during the BFA Annual Conference, Song emphasised the importance of education in the development of AI and called for the promotion of AI education among students and people from different sectors of the community, especially in the areas of AI ethics, morality, and law. He also mentioned UM’s efforts in promoting AI education, such as collaborating with top universities in mainland China to establish the World Digital Education Alliance and the Digital Intelligence International Development Education Alliance.

In addition, Song led Lao Chi Ngai, director of UM’s Strategy and Planning Office, and other representatives to visit Hainan University. The UM delegation was warmly received by Fu Xuanguo, secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan University, and Chen Jun, vice president of Hainan University. During the meeting, Song said that UM and Hainan University will deepen their academic exchanges and explore joint talent development programmes, adding that the two universities should join forces and leverage their complementary strengths to seize the development opportunities of the Greater Bay Area and Hainan Free Trade Port to contribute to the development of higher education in China.
