澳大英辯隊成功舉辦第三屆大灣區大學生英語辯論賽
為促進大灣區優秀青年的學術交流，澳門大學和“外研社･國才杯”全國大學生英語辯論賽組委會第三次聯合舉辦“2024外研社英語辯論公開賽（大灣區聯賽）暨第三屆粵港澳大灣區大學生英語辯論賽＂吸引來自北京外國語大學、上海財經大學、浙江大學等知名學府的98支隊伍、196位優秀辯手們參與，高校雲集，競爭激烈。經過多輪角逐，澳門大學英辯隊披荊斬棘，突破重圍，頂住壓力，於五輪積分循環賽後高分晉級，又歷經三輪淘汰賽，最終一舉奪下大學組季軍，摘得多個獎項，為隊內又添榮譽。
澳大英辯隊派出三支隊伍參賽，三支隊伍都從九十八支隊伍中脫穎而出順利晉級。其中一支晉級大學組，及順利打入大學組決賽。在三輪淘汰賽後，來自人文學院及蔡繼有書院的張幼溪，工商管理學院及鄭裕彤書院的崔嘉惠奪得大學組季軍；另外兩支晉級公開組，分別進入公開組半決賽和八分之一決賽。
儘管抱憾止步公開組半決賽，我隊成員在強手如林的公開組辯出風采，辯出水準，辯出高度。澳大榮譽學院、科技學院及曹光彪書院的哈澳瑪卡山娜，人文學院及蔡繼有書院的王熙睿分別奪得公開組第八、第十最佳辯手；澳大榮譽學院、人文學院及鄭裕彤書院的王含玉，社會科學學院及滿珍紀念書院的陳俊鍇並列奪得大學組第二最佳辯手。全體參賽成員均在賽事中摘得大小獎項若干，滿載而歸。
澳門大學英語辯論隊於本學期積極參與各項大小賽事，在比賽中以優異的表現和運動員精神技驚四座，艷壓群芳，給其他選手們留下了深刻的印象。我隊成員對英語辯論的熱忱極大程度上推動了大灣區英語辯論事業的發展，起到了模範帶頭作用。
UM English Debating Team Successfully Organizes the 3rd Greater Bay Area University English Debating Competition
The University of Macau (UM) and the organising committee of ‘FLTRP · ETIC Cup’ National English Debating Competition recently jointly held the 2024 FLTRP English Debate Open (Macao), which was also the Inaugural Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Universities Debating Championship. This competition attracted 98 teams and 196 outstanding debaters from renowned institutions such as Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Zhejiang University. Through numerous rounds of fierce competition, the University of Macau English Debating Team overcame challenges, persevered under pressure, and secured a high score in the five-round league, followed by three elimination rounds. Ultimately, they clinched the third place (second runner-up) in the university category, earning multiple awards and bringing honor to the team.
The University of Macau English Debating Team sent three strong teams to the competition, all of which lived up to expectations and successfully advanced from the initial 98 teams. One of the teams advanced to the university category and subsequently entered the university finals. After three grueling rounds of elimination, Usee Zhang from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Grace Chui from the Faculty of Business Administration, respectively representing Choi Kai Yau College and Cheng Yu Tung College, achieved the third place (2nd runner-up) in the university category. The other two teams advanced to the open category, reaching the semi-finals and Octofinals, respectively.
Although stopping at the semi-finals of the open category, our team members showcased their talent, skills, and expertise in a highly competitive field. Ali Omar Kassana from the Honours College, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and Chao Kuang Piu College earned the 8th Best Speaker awards in the open category. Siri Wang from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Choi Kai Yau College won the 10th best speaker in the open category. Along with Marvin Wang from the Honours College, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Cheng Yu Tung College and Jack Chan from the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Moon Chun Memorial College were jointly awarded the 2nd Best Speaker in the university category. All participating members returned with several awards, marking a successful and rewarding participation.
Throughout the semester, the University of Macau English Debating Team actively participated in various competitions, impressing others with their outstanding performance and sportsmanship. Their remarkable achievements have made a lasting impression on fellow participants. The team’s enthusiasm for English debate has significantly contributed to the development of the English debate culture in the Greater Bay Area, serving as an inspiring in the area.
