是次比賽由澳門演辯文化協會主辦，目的是為了促進粵港澳優秀青年的學術交流，同時讓兩地青年相互展示實力，從中提升自身能力及開拓更寬視野。故此，吸引了兩地七所大專院校參加，當中包括澳門大學、澳門科技大學、澳門城巿大學、香港中文大學、香港城市大學、香港科技大學及嶺南大學，就時事議題、青年事務以及兩地民生政策進行激辯角逐殊榮。
第一場澳門大學B隊對戰香港城市大學之辯題為「港澳應增加免費電視臺」，正方澳門大學B隊派出主辯科技學院、曹光彪書院的一年級學生裴先銘；第一副辯社會科學學院、霍英東珍禧書院的三年級學生馮卓楠；第二副辯社會科學學院、紹邦書院的四年級學生邱垚源以及結辯教育學院、蔡繼有書院的四年級學生黃穎輝。經過一輪激烈的比賽，最終澳門大學B隊以4:1擊敗香港城市大學，並以全場最高得分之優勢，成功奪魁！
而第二場澳門大學A隊對戰香港中文大學之辯題為「澳車北上」及「港車北上」政策範圍應予擴大，正方澳門大學A隊派出主辯法學院、霍英東珍禧書院的一年級陳穎芝學生；第一副辯法學院、何鴻燊東亞書院的一年級學生區嘉豐；第二副辯法學院、何鴻燊東亞書院的一年級學生陳凱銘以及結辯法學院、馬萬祺羅柏心書院的一年級學生余偉弘。最終澳門大學A隊以4:1擊敗香港中文大學，以全場第二高分奪得亞軍。
除此之外，澳門大學B隊教育學院、蔡繼有書院的四年級學生黃穎輝及澳門大學A隊結辯法學院、馬萬祺羅柏心書院的一年級學生余偉弘亦分別榮獲其場次最佳辯論員。

The University of Macau Cantonese Debating Team has won the championship and second place in the “2024 Hong Kong and Macao Cantonese Debating Contest”
Organized by the Debating and Speech Culture Association of Macao, the competition aims to promote academic exchanges between outstanding young people from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. At the same time, to allow young people from the two places to demonstrate their strengths to each other. So that they can enhance their abilities and open up a wider perspective. Therefore, seven tertiary institutions from both sides, including the University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, City University of Macau, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science, and Technology and Lingnan University, were attracted to participate in the event, debating and competing on current issues, youth affairs and policies on people’s livelihoods of the two places.
In the first match of the debate between the University of Macau (UM) Team B and the City University of Hong Kong (CityU, HK) on the topic of “Hong Kong and Macao should increase the number of free-to-air TV stations”, the first side of UM Team B sent their main defense, Year 1, PUI SIN MENG from FST & CKPC; the first vice-defense, Year 3, FONG CHEOK NAM from FSS & HFPJC; the second vice-defense, Year 4, QIU YAOYUAN from FSS & SPC; and the concluding debate, Year 4, WONG WENG FAI from FSS & CKYC. After a round of fierce competition, the UM Team B defeated CityU, HK 4:1, and successfully won the championship with the highest score of the whole match!
In the second match between the University of Macau (UM) Team A and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the topic of the debate was “Northbound Travel for Macao Vehicles” and “Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles” and the scope of the policy should be expanded. The main side, the UM Team A, sent their main defense, Year 1, CHAN WENG CHI from FLL & HFPJC; the first vice-defense, Year 1, AO KA FONG from FLL & SHEAC; the second vice-defense, Year 1, CHEN HOI MENG from FLL & SHEAC; and the concluding debate, Year 1, U WAI WANG from FLL & MLC. In the end, the UM Team A team defeated The Chinese University of Hong Kong 4:1 and won the second runner-up with the second highest score of the whole match.
Apart from that, the UM Team B, Wong Wing Fai, from FED & CKYC, and UM Team A, U WAI WANG from FLL & MLC, were also awarded as the best debaters of their respective matches!
