澳大為教職員舉辦「防騙工作坊」
In view of the ongoing concern of scam cases in Macao, the Judiciary Police was once again invited to come to the University to conduct a “Scam Prevention Workshop” for UM staff on 15 January 2025 (Wednesday). Mr. TANG Wai Wa, 1st-grade Criminal Investigator of the Judiciary Police, served as the guest speaker. The workshop was very well received. A total of 50 colleagues participated.
During the workshop, Mr. TANG presented the upward trend of scam cases in 2024, the common types of scam cases in Macao (e.g., Scam Calls, Internet Fraud, etc.), the useful techniques for scam prevention, the strategies for helping others to stay alert and prevent being victimized, as well as the functions of the anti-scam program launched by the Judiciary Police.
The University hopes that this workshop can further deepen UM staff’s understanding on the various types of scam cases, and to assist them in remaining vigilant and avoiding falling victim to scams.
