澳大邀中科院院士周三談數學智慧
澳門大學將於1月22日（星期三）舉辦大學講壇之“數苑漫步”講座，中國科學院院士、北京大學講席教授田剛將從數學的抽象性、簡潔性、嚴謹性等角度探討數學的美妙與智慧。歡迎有興趣人士參加。
田剛是世界頂尖數學家，在凱勒流形（Kahler-Einstein）度量研究中做了開創性工作，引入了K-穩定性的概念，證明Fano空間上K-穩定性與存在凱勒流形之間的等價關係。其研究成就獲國際廣泛認可，曾獲美國國家基金會頒發的沃特曼獎、美國數學會的韋伯倫獎等多項殊榮。

CAS academician to give talk on mathematics at UM this Wednesday
The University of Macau (UM) will hold a talk titled ‘Strolling Through the Garden of Mathematics’ on 22 January (Wednesday) as part of its University Lecture Series. The talk will be given by Tian Gang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and chair professor at Peking University. Prof Tian will explore the beauty and wisdom of mathematics from the perspectives of its abstraction, simplicity, and rigour.
The talk will begin at 11:00am in the Multi-function Hall of the UM Guest House (N1-G014) and will be conducted in Mandarin. All are welcome to attend.
