On February 17 2025, the Faculty of Education (FED) of the University of Macau and the Yang Pao An Memorial School in Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai, held the signing ceremony for an internship cooperation agreement. The participants included Prof. Lianghuo FAN, Dean of FED; Prof. Zhaowei KONG, Associate Dean (Teaching) of FED; Prof. Tien Ping HSIANG, Programme Coordinator of Bachelor of Education Programme (Primary) and Prof. Zhisheng WANG of FED; Principal Jie ZHANG, Vice-Principals of Lingli ZHAO and Hongbiao SHU of the Yang Pao An Memorial School.

On the basis of friendly exchanges and cooperation, the two parties signed this agreement on the principles of mutual benefit and common development to provide opportunities for students in the Primary Education programme in FED to undertake teaching internships in Zhuhai, so as to enhance students’ pedagogical knowledge and skills in mainland primary schools and to promote cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, as well as to jointly contribute to the cultivation of teachers for the country and the Macao SAR Government.

The signing ceremony kicked off with a speech by Principal Zhang, she introduced the historical development, the excellent teaching staff and the outstanding performance of students of the Yang Pao An Memorial School, and conveyed the message from the Zhuhai Bureau of Education for supporting this cooperation. We then played a promotional video of the University of Macau to showcase its beautiful campus and outstanding scientific research achievements. Afterwards, Dean Fan delivered a speech for emphasizing that this cooperation between the two schools will not only help the development of both parties, but will also make positive contributions to the education of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Finally, both parties signed a cooperation agreement. Dean Fan sincerely welcomed the teachers and students of the Yang Pao An Memorial School to visit FED. Principal Zhang also hoped that FED can advance the professional development of their teachers, and wished that the Year 3 primary education programme students of FED would successfully complete their internship. The two parties will work together to promote exchanges between Zhuhai and Macao as well as create new achievements. The signing ceremony was successfully completed.
