Half-day City Tour in Zhuzhou

UM Women’s Basketball Team participated in
“27th Chinese University Basketball Association League (CUBAL) – Southwest Region” in Zhuzhou

The “27th Chinese University Basketball Association League (CUBAL) – Southwest Region” was held from 6 to 14 Apr at Hunan University of Technology in Zhuzhou, which was hosted and organized by the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC). The UM Women’s Basketball Team has sent a total of 12 team members to participate in this League.

The competition results are shown as below:

8 Apr – Wuhan University of Science and Technology vs UM 110:40 (UM lost)
9 Apr – UM vs Central South University 45:135 (UM lost)
11 Apr – Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences vs UM 85:60 (UM lost)

Ranking Match
12 Apr – UM vs Guangxi Normal University 43:81 (UM lost)
13 Apr – Guangxi University vs UM 72:51 (UM lost)

Although the UM lost all matches in the tournament, our team spirit was highly commended by the organizer, the local school, and the local Education Bureau. Many students from the Tianyuan School approached our students for autographs after the matches. The Director General of the Zhuzhou Education Bureau and the Principal of Tianyuan School also showed support and arranged a half-day city tour for our team to explore Zhuzhou.

Our team coach emphasized “Winning is not the only goal for UM Women’s Basketball Team, it is far more important that the students enjoy the games and grow together as a team.” Team captain, Cheng Man U (FSS/HFPJC), mentioned that “This is my 4th year with the team and it’s been my honor to witness the improvement of our team in these past years, and I am proud to be part of this team!”
