UM Basketball Teams participated in
“26th Chinese University Basketball Association League (CUBAL) – Southwest Region” in Wuhan

The “26th Chinese University Basketball Association League (CUBAL) – Southwest Region” was held from 3 to 11 Apr at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, which was hosted and organized by the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC). The UM Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams have sent a total of 24 team members to participate in this League.

UM Squash Team Fun Day was successfully held

The UM Squash Team Fun Day was held successfully on 27 Mar at UM Sports Complex (N8) – Squash Court and there was a total of 60 UM students participated in this activity.

The Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) organized this university sports team Fun Day with the aim to let UM students to interact with the university team members and to experience team training through designated teaching sessions.

The Fun Day began with an introduction to the team history, team past achievements and team members. For providing a better understanding of squash knowledge to the participants, squash team members presented the basic squash rules and regulations through instructional videos. Following this, all participants were divided into 5 groups and engaged in various activities using squash equipment. Finally, UM squash team members concluded the Fun Day with thrilling exhibition matches, both single and double, creating a wave of excitement among the participants.

The Fun Day was thoroughly enjoyed by both the participants and squash team members, who provided positive feedback about the event.

這次壁球同樂日通過模擬練習瞭解了壁球的規則，學習並練習了壁球發球的方式，欣賞了單打和雙打表演賽。壁球校隊隊員耐心、細緻的指導加上新穎且易於上手的模擬練習，讓初次接觸這項運動的同學輕鬆地邁出了第一步，緊張激烈的雙打表演賽更是讓大家躍躍欲試。想要學習更多關於壁球的知識，練習更多壁球技能。

參加壁球活動非常有趣和令人興奮。壁球是一項激動人心的運動，需要敏捷的反應和良好的協調能力。在比賽中，我能夠感受到身體的運動和挑戰自己的能力。與其他參與者互動也讓整個體驗更加有趣。壁球活動不僅鍛煉了我的身體，還提高了我的專注力和策略思維。總的來說，參加壁球活動是一種享受，我期待著未來有更多的機會參與進去。

*出席整個活動及準時到達的同學，將獲得2個體育時數 (遲到、早退或活動期間離場超過十分鐘將不能獲得體育時數)。
Students who attend the WHOLE activity and arrive ON TIME will be given 2 PE hours (late arrival, early leave or leave the venue during the event for over 10 minutes will NOT be given PE hours).

*同學進場和離場時，必須出示學生證作登記；出席的學生必須與登記的學生姓名一樣。
Students are required to do check in/out with UM student ID card, the name of the attended student MUST be the same as the registered name.

*確認報名結果將於活動日前發放到學生填寫的澳大電郵地址，請務必填寫正確的澳大電郵地址 (@um.edu.mo)。

UM Men’s Basketball Team was invited to participate in
“2024 Yaoxin Sports Cup – National University CUBA 985-Elite College Basketball Invitational Tournament” in Zhengzhou

The “2024 Yaoxin Sports Cup – National University CUBA 985 Elite College Basketball Invitational Tournament” was held from 21 to 26 Feb in Zhengzhou. UM Men’s Basketball Team was invited to participate and compete with several 985-Elite Colleges in this invitational tournament. A total of 15 members from the UM Men’s Basketball Team were selected to represent the university in this tournament.

After 5 days of intensive matches, the UM Men’s Basketball Team won the 12th runner-up at last. The competition results are shown as below:

UM Women’s Basketball Team Visited Zhuhai No.3 High School for Exchange Activity

In order to have a better preparation for the upcoming 26th CUBA (Chinese University Basketball Association) League in March, UM Women’s Basketball Team has sent 11 students to Zhuhai No.3 High School for an exchange activity, which took place on 7 Jan. This exchange activity served as a platform for members’ skill development, enabling them to learn new techniques and strategies from opponents with diverse playing styles.

The “College Basketball Challenge 2024” was held from 2 to 8 Jan at Huaqiao University in Fujian. There were 8 universities being invited to the challenge match, and the UM Men’s Basketball Team has sent 12 members to compete in this challenge match. After 5 days of intensive matches, the UM Men’s Basketball Team won the 6th runner-up at last. The competition results are shown as below:

UM Men’s and Women’s Basketball Team won the Championship and 2nd Runner-up of
“Asian University Basketball Invitational 2023” respectively

The Asian University Basketball Invitational 2023 (Organized by the University of Macau Alumni Association, supported by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, University of Macau (UM), UM Alumni and Development Office and UM Office of Sports Affairs, and sponsored by the Henry Fok Foundation) which was held from 22-24 Dec at UM Sports Complex – Sports Pavilion.

There were a total of 7 universities from Mainland China, Macau and Malaysia being invited to compete in this invitational, including the winner of 2023 CUBA League, Guangdong University of Technology, and the past winner of CUBA League, Huaqiao University. OSA has sent UM Basketball Teams (Both Men and Women) to participate in this invitational and the final results are shown as below:

– UM Women’s Basketball Team : 2nd runner-up of 回歸紀念盃 (Women’s Division)

The “2023-2024 Macau University Basketball Championship” (organized by Macau Universitarian Sports Association, sponsored by Sports Bureau and venue supported by University of Macau) was kicked off on 21 Oct (Sat) at the University of Macau Training Hall B (N8).

-Please arrive the Sports Pavilion (N8) 15 minutes before the above scheduled time for check-in (check-in counter will only last for 15 minutes before the above scheduled time).
-Check-out is required after the MATCH ENDS, early leave or lateness will NOT be granted for PE hours.
