The 1st class was successfully held at The International School of Macao (TIS) on 16 Apr. The event featured UM Dragon and Lion Dance Team coaches and members, who primarily performed the main dragon dance and taught TIS students some basic techniques involved in this traditional art form. The activity began with the eye dotting ceremony for the new dragon (sponsored by SJM) which symbolizes the awakening of the dragon. Participated guests involves Mr. Lorne Schmidt (Head of School of The International School of Macau), Mr. Timothy Lee (Assistant Vice President of Learning & Development of SJM Resorts) and Ms. Grace Chau (Director of Sports Affairs of the University of Macau).
Followed by a captivating performance of the dragon dance by UM Dragon and Lion Dance team members, students from TIS had the opportunity to engage in an experience session to learn about the techniques involved. The event concluded with a Q&A sharing session, allowing students to ask questions and share insights.
A total of 50 TIS students participated in the activity, along with 10 UM Dragon and Lion Dance Team members and 2 coaches. All students enjoyed the experience, leaving with smiles and a sense of happiness, having created wonderful memories together.
