Competition Highlights

UM Men’s Basketball Team crowned “Kings of the Southwest” at
“27th Chinese University Basketball Association League (CUBAL) Division 3 – Southwest Region” in Chengdu

The “27th Chinese University Basketball Association League (CUBAL) Division 3 – Southwest Region” was held from 23 Apr to 1 May at Sichuan Winshare Vocational College in Chengdu, which was hosted and organized by the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC). The UM Men’s Basketball Team has sent a total of 12 team members to participate in this League.

26 Apr – Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity vs UM 52:83 (UM won)
27 Apr – HuNan Industry Polytechnic vs UM 85:96 (UM won)

28 Apr – UM vs Changsha Nanfang Vocational College 86:80 (UM won)
(Semi-Final) 29 Apr – Guangxi Vocational And Technical College Of Communications vs UM 69:96 (UM won)
(Final) 30 Apr – Sichuan Winshare Vocational College vs UM 69:71 (UM won)

The UM Men’s Basketball Team fought with heart and skill to claim the Southwest Championship title, resulted in a dominant victory at the 27th CUBAL Division 3 – Southwest Region. One of the team members, Yang Xuan (FED/LCWC), was chosen to be the overall MVP of the League.

Next stop for the team will be National Championships in the beginning of June, the team will aim for a greater glory in the upcoming tournament.
