澳大頒發卓越教學獎
澳門大學今(24)日在畢業典禮上頒發“澳門大學卓越教學獎”,表揚及嘉許一名在教學上表現出色的教學人員。經過嚴格遴選,2024/2025學年的獎項由澳大教育學院助理教授何揚晴奪得。
澳大表示,卓越教學獎的遴選及評審過程嚴謹,由具代表性的遴選委員會從眾多學院的提名中選出一名獲獎教師,獲提名者均為各學院優秀教師獎得主。評審準則包括教學理念,相關專業知識的深度,傑出的溝通技巧和教學成效,對課程發展有傑出貢獻,具有激勵學生智力持續發展、引發其積極學習的能力,創新教學方法的運用,推動校內外卓越教學的領導才能。
何揚晴對獲獎深感榮幸與感激。她表示,這不僅是對個人教學努力的肯定,更是對學生的認可,因為學生的求知慾、創造力與堅毅不拔的精神不斷激勵著她,他們的成長讓她深刻體會到教學的真諦。何揚晴亦衷心感謝澳大同仁與前輩的支持,使她能在教學道路上懷著最初的熱忱。教育對她而言,不僅是知識的傳授,更是一股能夠改變生命的力量。教學是她的責任,亦是她的使命;教育不單能點燃學生的學習熱情,更能引導其發現自身的無限潛能。
何揚晴於2023年加入澳大,現任教育學院助理教授,亦是一位兼具教育熱忱與音樂才華的學者。她在美國茱莉亞音樂學院先後取得中提琴演奏學士和碩士學位,並在哥倫比亞大學取得音樂與音樂教育碩士及博士學位。她擅長將創意教學法、遊戲化學習與反思實踐融入課堂之中。何揚晴曾獲多個獎項與獎學金,包括南佛羅里達大學音樂教育研究中心頒授的2025年度傑出新興學者獎、美國資優兒童協會頒授的青年學者論文獎項、哥倫比亞大學頒授的Enid W. & Lester Morse Jr. Fellowship等。她積極參與音樂、幼兒教育、師資培訓等跨領域研究,致力啟發學生潛能,培養他們有能力學習、自主引領並創造屬於自己的獨特價值與意義。

UM presents Teaching Excellence Award
At the Congregation 2025 held today (24 May), the University of Macau (UM) presented the Teaching Excellence Award for the 2024/2025 academic year to Katy Ieong Cheng Ho Weatherly, assistant professor in the Faculty of Education (FED), in recognition of her outstanding teaching performance.
Every year, the recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award is selected by a selection committee from nominees, who are faculty-level teaching award recipients, through a rigorous process. Selection criteria include the following: teaching philosophy, depth of knowledge in the subject area, outstanding communication skills and teaching effectiveness, outstanding contributions to the quality of curriculum development, the ability to promote student learning by stimulating and sustaining the intellectual development of students, innovative approach to teaching and learning, and leadership in promoting teaching excellence within and outside the university.
Prof Ho Weatherly felt honoured to receive the award and expressed her gratitude. She shared that the award is not only a recognition of her teaching efforts, but also a tribute to her students, whose curiosity, creativity, and perseverance continually inspire her. Their growth has given her a deeper understanding of the true essence of teaching. Prof Ho Weatherly also thanked her colleagues and mentors at UM for their support, which has helped her maintain her passion for teaching. She emphasised that for her, education is more than simply passing on knowledge; it is a transformative force that can change lives. She added that teaching is both her responsibility and her mission, and education has the power to spark students’ passion for learning and help them discover their boundless potential.
Prof Ho Weatherly joined UM in 2023 and is currently an assistant professor in FED. A passionate educator and talented musician, she obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Viola Performance from The Juilliard School in the US, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in Music and Music Education from Columbia University. Prof Ho Weatherly is adept at incorporating creative pedagogies, gamification, and reflective practices into her teaching. She has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the 2025 Outstanding Emerging Researcher Award from the Center for Music Education Research at the University of South Florida, the Junior Researcher Award from the National Association for Gifted Children in the US, and the Enid and Lester Morse Fellowship from Columbia University. Prof Ho Weatherly’s interdisciplinary research spans music, early childhood education, and teacher training. She is dedicated to inspiring students to realise their potential, enhancing their learning abilities and self-motivation, and empowering them to create their unique value and meaning in the world.
