Biomedical Imaging Research Workshop and International Symposium on Radiotheranostics held at UM

The 5th Macau Biomedical Imaging Research Workshop & 2025 International Symposium on Radiotheranostics, organised by the Macao Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and co-organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Macau (UM) and the Ministry of Education Frontiers Science Center for Precision Oncology, University of Macau (FSCPO), was held at UM. The event brought together leading researchers, clinicians, and professionals from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in precision medicine and molecular imaging.

The event began with an opening ceremony featuring welcome remarks from Chuxia Deng, dean of FHS and chief scientist of FSCPO; Georges El Fakhri, Elizabeth Mears and House Jameson Professor at Yale University; and Kao Chien-Min, associate professor at the University of Chicago. Attendees then engaged in in-depth discussions on the integration of radiotheranostics and positron emission tomography (PET), highlighting its transformative impact on diagnostics and targeted therapies.

The symposium featured 18 presentations and a roundtable discussion. Experts and scholars shared their latest research findings covering cutting-edge topics such as high-resolution PET imaging techniques, the clinical translation of radiotheranostics, AI applications in PET, the research and development of new isotopes, and patient-specific dosimetry.

Greta Mok Seng Peng, co-chair of the symposium and professor in FSCPO, expressed gratitude to attendees for their active participation in the event, and expressed hope that they would take full advantage of the event to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.
