UM showcases its achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship to members of various alumni associations
The Alumni and Development Office (ADO) of the University of Macau (UM) held the Alumni Associations Meeting 2025 at the UM Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). Nearly 50 leaders and representatives of UM alumni associations representing different places and faculties attended the meeting, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the alumni associations and the university, and promoting mutual development.
Speaking at the event, UM Vice Rector Rui Martins said that the Alumni Affairs Coordination Platform, which was established last year, has enhanced communication among different alumni associations. He expressed hope that the alumni associations will deepen their cooperation for UM’s 45th anniversary celebrations in 2026. He also noted that as the number of UM graduates continuous to grow, the role of the alumni associations in facilitating communication between the university and its alumni becomes increasingly important. He looks forward to all alumni associations working closely with ADO to make the most of the platform’s advantages and promote the sustainable development of alumni affairs.
During the meeting, leaders and representatives of various alumni associations reported on their work, alumni activities, and directions for future cooperation. They also offered valuable insights into alumni affairs, and held in-depth discussions and made suggestions on this year’s Alumni Day and next year’s 45th anniversary celebrations, hoping to include more innovative elements in the activities.
Furthermore, the event featured a sharing session by UM representatives, which aimed to provide the leaders and representatives of alumni associations with more information about the university’s efforts to commercialise research outcomes and develop an ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship.
