On October 11, 2025, CKPC Down Syndrome Buddy group visited the Macau Down Syndrome Association to conduct pipe cleaner art and scratch painting workshops, bringing joy and warmth to children with Down syndrome. This event also officially marked the commencement of the group’s community service activities for the new academic year.
The event began with volunteers leading the children through a warm-up dance, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere. Following this, volunteers provided group instruction on pipe cleaner art, patiently explaining each step from color matching to component assembly, while also carefully reminding participants of safety precautions. With the volunteers’ assistance, the children unleashed their creativity and completed various items such as little cherry pendants, butterfly rings, lollipops and more.
During the subsequent scratch painting session, the children used tools to reveal vibrant, colorful patterns hidden beneath the black coating. This activity sparked interaction and conversation between the volunteers and children, who shared knowledge and interesting facts related to the unveiled images. The workshop was filled with laughter and joy, effectively helping to develop the children’s fine motor skills, patience, and fostering meaningful communication and connection.
The CKPC Down Syndrome Buddy group expressed its commitment to continue collaborating with the Macau Down Syndrome Association, aiming to provide more thoughtful services and convey ongoing care and support to the children.
