On 15 October 2025, the Centre for Language and Literacy Education (CLLE) of the Faculty of Education (FED), University of Macau (UM) and Hengqin CNU Ziqi Experimental Primary School jointly held the opening ceremony of the Children’s Literature Creation Exhibition in the main lobby of the FED. The event aimed to foster educational exchange between the two schools, showcase students’ creative achievements in children’s literature, and encourage young learners to use writing as a bridge to express imagination and emotion through language.

The ceremony began with opening remarks delivered by Prof. Lianghuo FAN, Dean and Director of the Centre for STEM and AI Education of FED. Prof. Fan highlighted UM’s continuous efforts in integrating language education with literary creativity, expressing his hope that this joint exhibition would inspire students to connect reading, reflection, and writing, thereby experiencing the beauty and power of language.

Following that, Ms. Xiangling ZHAO, General Manager of Hall de Cultura Publishing House, delivered her remark. She highly commended the creativity and imagination demonstrated by the young authors, encouraging them to continue exploring the world through literature and expressing their inner thoughts with sincerity and originality. During the ceremony, Mr. Chap Chong PANG, Dean of Students of UM and Prof. Shulin YU, Assistant Dean (Student Affairs) and Director of Centre for Language and Literacy Education of FED presented the commemorative gifts to both the participating primary school student authors and UM undergraduate student authors in recognition of their dedication and creative expression. The guests then participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially marking the opening of the exhibition.

The atmosphere was lively and warm, with visitors praising the students’ works for their authenticity, originality, and artistic insight, which vividly reflected young people’s perception of life and creative potential. This joint exhibition not only strengthened the cultural ties between educational institutions in Macao and Hengqin, but also provided a valuable platform for promoting children’s literature education and cross-school collaboration. The Faculty of Education stated that it will continue to support students’ creative development, nurture future generations with humanistic spirit and creativity, and contribute to the sustainable development of education and culture in Macao.
