AY2026/2027 UM Outstanding Student-Athletes Admission Scheme (1st Batch, non- local students) is open for application!!

UM Outstanding Student-Athletes Admission Scheme (OSAAS) for AY2026/2027 (1st Batch, non-local students) is open for application from 1 to 30 Nov 2025. Please find below for more details about the Admission Scheme.

– Total number of  Admission Scholarships: 30 quotas

– Eligibility Requirements

• National Level 1 Athlete or above (within 2023-2025) for Badminton, Tennis, and Swimming / 
  National Level 2 Athlete or above (within 2023-2025) for other sports / 
  National Athlete Grade Certificate is not required for Squash;
• Top 8 in International/National Competitions or Top 6 in Provincial Competitions (for all sports);
• Must take the 2026 National Higher Education Entrance Examination (Gaokao).

– Recruiting Sports:
Badminton, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Dragon Boat, Fencing, Karate, Korfball, Martial Arts, Rock Climbing, Men’s Soccer, *Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track and Field, Men’s Volleyball and Women’s Volleyball.
*Submission of a National Athlete Grade Certificate is not required for Squash applicants. However, applicants must still meet the competition result requirements specified in either point 1 or point 2 above.

– Application Method:

• Online Application Form: Complete the application form online within application period.
  
• Supporting Documents: Scan all relevant awards and certificates, and upload them to the online application form. Scanned files must be in a portable format (PDF files).
• Results & Skill Test Notification: Applicants will be notified of their application result and details regarding the sports skill test via email by 19 Dec 2025.

– Sports Skill Test Details:

• Date: 10-11 Jan 2026 (For BOTH sports skill test and English placement test)
• Location: University of Macau

– For Admitted Students:

• UM does not offer an undergraduate major in Sports Science. Students admitted under the “Outstanding Students-Athlete Admission Scheme” may freely choose their academic program. However, if they fail to meet the admission requirements for their chosen program, they must accept the program assigned by UM.
• During their period of study, students are obligated to participate in sports activities organized by the University and represent UM in sports competitions.
• The continuation of the scholarship throughout the normal study period will be determined by the student’s attitude, academic performance, and achievements in sports competitions.
