On 5^th November, 2025, students from Moon Chun Memorial College, University of Macau visited Service Center for the Deaf to participate in the “Sign Language Community Experience Day” organized by the Macau Deaf Association. The event aimed to enhance students’ understanding of people with hearing impairments, learn about their communication methods, and promote the values of equality and inclusion.

A member of the Service Center for the Deaf introduced the background and services of the association, and explained in detail the various facilities available at the center, especially the assistive tools provided for individuals with hearing impairments. The students listened attentively and gained a deeper understanding of the daily lives and challenges faced by people with hearing impairments.

In addition, a sign language interpreter taught students basic sign language through interactive games, allowing them to learn in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere while experiencing the communication methods used by the hearing impaired. At the end of the activity, students participated in a “Sign Language Video Experience,” where they conveyed the message “No human rights without sign language rights.” through sign language, demonstrating their support for the hearing-impaired community. This activity not only allowed students to step outside campus and engage directly with social service organization, but also deepened their awareness of social diversity and inclusion.
