UM holds a “Scam Prevention Workshop” for staff members and students

In view of the ongoing concern over scam cases in Macao, at the start of 2026, the University has once again collaborated with the Judiciary Police to organize a “Scam Prevention Workshop”, targeting both staff members and students. The workshop was held on 21 January 2026 (Wednesday), and Ms. SI Mei Iong, 2nd-class Criminal Investigator of the Judiciary Police, served as the guest speaker. Over 100 colleagues and students participated.
During the workshop, Ms. SI presented the common types of scam cases (e.g., Scam Calls, Internet Scams, AI Scams, etc.), the useful techniques for scam prevention, the strategies for helping others to stay alert and prevent being victimized, as well as the features of the anti-scam program released by the Judiciary Police.
The University hopes that this workshop can further enhance awareness, reinforce response capabilities, and encourage everyone to stay alert and be supportive of each other.
