CCE Collaborated with HKU SPACE to Launch a Training Course on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Chinese Mainland University Students

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), in collaboration with the Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), jointly organized a training program for university students from Chinese mainland from February 2 to 7, 2026. The training topic was “Artificial Intelligence and Robotics” with 25 students participating. The participants were primarily from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Suzhou University of Science and Technology, with a small number from other higher education institutions.

The six-day training was conducted in both Hong Kong and Macao, consisting of a series of thematic lectures with rich teaching content, delivered entirely in English. The topics covered “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics on Future Work and Society”, “Artificial Intelligence, Personal Privacy, and Ethical Issues”, “Machine Learning for Embodied Artificial Intelligence” and “Advanced Robotics and Control”. At the closing ceremony, Professor Matthew LIU, Director of CCE, remarked that through this Hong Kong-Macao dual-city learning model, students experienced the distinctive characteristics of both cities as well as teaching styles that differ from those in Chinese mainland, and he welcomed them to return for future exchange and learning opportunities in Hong Kong and Macao.

This training program marks another collaboration with HKU SPACE. Through cross-city academic exchange, it continues to promote the development of a new model of continuing education cooperation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. CCE will continue to develop more high-quality training programs to foster exchange and cooperation between outstanding higher education institutions in Chinese mainland and UM.
