UM, HK PolyU jointly organise entrepreneurship training camp

Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC) of the University of Macau (UM) and the Department of Applied Physics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) jointly organised the fourth entrepreneurship training camp ‘Start‑up Weekday’ to encourage student engagement in innovation and entrepreneurship and to explore new models of interdisciplinary integration and industry-academia collaboration. The event attracted 16 students from both universities.

During the camp, participants presented entrepreneurial projects that were evaluated based on innovation, market potential, technological feasibility, and social value. The Kego team—comprising UM students Yang Yang and Lu Rangjiacheng, together with PolyU student Zhou Zhi—won the championship with their pelvic floor muscle repair product, which stood out for its clear market positioning and strong practical value. Another team, made up of three UM students—Pau Kin Lam, Chou Chi Pan, and Wong Kin Lok—and one PolyU student, Ruan Haozhe, won the runner‑up title for their Zisha teapot authentication system.

Wong Seng Fat, interim college master of CYTC, said that the training camp was not only an entrepreneurship competition, but also a valuable platform for students to gain first‑hand insight into the entrepreneurial process and to develop cross‑disciplinary collaboration skills in real‑world contexts.
