UM won the Championship at “2025 Macau Basketball League (Open Division)”

UM Men’s Basketball Team won the Championship at “2025 Macau Basketball League (Open Division)”
and promoted to the Elite Division in the Upcoming Season

The “2025 Macau Basketball League (Open Division)”, organized by Macau-China Basketball Association, ended successfully on 27 Feb. A total of 13 members were selected to represent UM in this competition, which lasted for 3 months from Dec 2025 to Feb 2026. Throughout the tournament, the team demonstrated strong teamwork and collaboration.

UM Men’s Basketball Team won the Championship at the “2025 Macau Basketball League (Open Division)” at last, earning promotion to the Elite Division – the highest and most competitive division of Macau Basketball League for the upcoming season.

The UM Team has been competing in the “Macau Basketball League” since 2024. In just two seasons (2024 and 2025), the team has impressively achieved a remarkable ascent from the fundamental Junior Division to the Open Division, and now to the Elite Division.

In the 2024 Junior Division, UM team finished in 5th place. Although only top 4 teams will be promoted to the Open Division, our team was granted a spot as a substitution and moved to the Open Division in 2025. Competing in the Open Division in 2025, UM team finished as top 2, securing the promotion to the Elite Division. This is the second time since 2013 that the UM Team has earned a promotion to the highest level division.
