MCM College: Exploring Life Journey Experience Pavilion

On 14th March, 2026, the Guia House of Moon Chun Memorial College, University of Macau organized a visit to the Wynn Life Experience Pavilion. Through experiential learning, the event guided participants through five major stages of life: childbearing, child and adolescence, adults, senior, and death, encouraging deeper reflection and awareness of life education.
In the “Childbearing” area, students wore special attire to simulate the physical weight and mobility limitations experienced by pregnant women in late pregnancy, allowing them to more genuinely understand the challenges of carrying life. Using a childbirth simulation device, students further experienced the pain and difficulty involved in childbirth. Under the instructors’ guidance, they also learned essential newborn‑care skills, including diaper changing and dressing.
In the “Death” area, Prof. Zhu MingXia from Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau led a scenario discussion titled “Three Months Left to Live.” Through selecting and sharing from a set of cards, participants revisited the meaning of life and personal values. Some wished to fulfill a dream of traveling around the world, while others hoped to spend their remaining time with family. The sharing was sincere and touching, every statement resonated deeply, reflecting a calm and thoughtful confrontation with life’s final stage.
The event concluded with a closing session by non-resident Senior Fellow, Prof. Liu Nai Hua, who guided students in reviewing the overall experience and expressing their thoughts and reflections. Many students expressed that by “experiencing” different stages of life, they have gained a deeper appreciation for the preciousness of life and developed a more comprehensive understanding of the needs of various age groups. This life education activity not only provided a memorable experience but also left each participant with profound insights and reflection.

“Stepping into the Life Experience Pavilion and immersing myself in the daily reality of an expectant mother allowed me to truly feel the hardship and greatness of nurturing life. From the trajectories of growth to the milestones we all encounter, every stage carries the weight of time and the warmth of family. This was a special lesson in life education, one that taught us gratitude and reminded us to cherish everything we have in the present moment.” — Winnie Tong
“The card‑selection activity and end‑of‑life scenario in the second half of the event moved me deeply. Under the premise of having only three months left to live, we sat together in a circle and shared our understanding and aspirations for life. Listening to everyone’s reflections revealed the richness and depth of what people value. This experience made me re‑examine myself: the things we hope to hold tightly at the end of life are not something we should wait for. They deserve to be pursued now, starting from this very moment.” — Celine Li
“This experience helped me confront what I truly need when facing ‘death,’ and reminded me that at the end of life, it becomes even more important to ‘practice expressing love and to learn how to say goodbye.’ Language is the most direct way to express love, and I thought of two farewells with family members in the past when I never managed to say the words of gratitude in my heart. This activity reminded me of the importance of expressing our feelings in time. When I have to say goodbye to my family again one day, I hope I can courageously say: ‘I love you,’ ‘Thank you,’ ‘I forgive you,’ and ‘Please forgive me.” — Tony Leong
