MCM College Burnt Foil Painting Workshop
滿珍紀念書院燒箔畫工作坊

On March 18, 2026, University of Macau Moon Chun Memorial College St. Paul’s House hosted a Burnt Foil Painting Workshop.
Burnt foil painting is a traditional intangible cultural heritage technique with a long history, using metal foil as its canvas and a high-temperature flame as its brush. The heating process creates stunning iridescent colors, resulting in a uniquely captivating artistic effect. During the workshop, participants not only learned about the cultural background of this craft but also experienced the entire creative process—from design to heating—under expert guidance. The atmosphere was lively and interactive, as students immersed themselves in the art while exchanging ideas and supporting one another.
Through hands-on practice, the workshop allowed participants to deepen their understanding of traditional craftsmanship, strengthening their cultural engagement and appreciation for heritage. At the same time, working alongside peers fostered mutual support, idea exchange, and collaborative interaction, contributing to a more cohesive and connected College community.
