A Night to Remember: The UM Symphony Orchestra’s Debut Concert Successfully Held

The silence was broken, the baton was raised, and a new chapter for the University of Macau began.

The energy of the debut performance, “A Night at the Symphony”, continues to resonate throughout the campus. Seeing a nearly full house was a humbling experience for the performers. This was not just a concert; it represented the culmination of months of late-night rehearsals and a shared passion for music.

Under the precise and moving leadership of the conductor, Mr. Sa Ng, the orchestra brought a diverse program to life. From the grand opening of Verdi’s Triumphal March to the final, stirring notes of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, the evening served as a tribute to the “giants” whose shoulders the young musicians stand upon. It was a powerful way of honoring 45 years of UM legacy while stepping into a brand-new musical future.

The event was graced by many distinguished guests, including Prof. Mok Kai Meng, Prof. Rui Martins, Mr. Paul Pang, and Mr. Carlos Cid Alvares, along with many Faculty Deans, Institute Director, and College Masters. Their presence and support made this milestone even more meaningful.

To everyone who joined the orchestra beneath the stars: thank you for letting the music speak when words were not enough. This was only the beginning.

回響與感動：澳大交響樂團首場音樂會圓滿落幕

寂靜被劃破，指揮棒起，澳門大學音樂藝術的新篇章正式開啟。

首場正式演出《交響之夜》所帶來的澎湃能量至今仍令人難忘。看著舞台下近乎滿座的盛況，樂團成員內心充滿了謙卑與激動。這不僅僅是一場音樂會，更是全體成員數月以來挑燈排練、將熱忱凝聚而成的藝術成果。

在指揮吳沙先生精準而動人的帶領下，樂團呈獻了多首經典佳作。從威爾第《凱旋進行曲》的宏偉開場，到柴可夫斯基《1812序曲》震撼人心的尾聲，這個夜晚是對前輩「巨人」們的致敬。樂團以音樂對澳大四十五載的學術沉澱表達敬意，同時也開啟了屬於校園音樂藝術的全新旅程。

當晚嘉賓雲集，多位嘉賓蒞臨支持，包括莫啓明副校長、馬許願副校長、彭執中學生事務長及大西洋銀行行政總裁區偉時先生，以及多位學院院長、研究院院長及書院院長。嘉賓們的到場與支持，讓這個里程碑式的時刻更具意義。
