講者簡介:Professor Costa is the Minister of Education of Portugal, Chair Professor of Linguistics at the NOVA University of Lisbon, and its former Director of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences. His areas of research include formal linguistics, language acquisition, and educational linguistics. He is the editor of Portuguese Syntax: New Comparative Studies (Oxford University Press), the author of multiple books and over 100 articles and book chapters, and the editorial board member of diverse international linguistics journals. He has served as a member of the Scientific Board of the National Reading Plan, the National Commission of the International Institute for the Portuguese Language, and the Advisory Board of the Camões Institute. Professor Costa was the President of Portuguese Linguistics Association and President of the European Association of Linguistic Students (SOLE). Besides his teaching and research activities at his University, he has been a guest professor at various universities in Brazil, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, as well as Macau.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) is going to hold the 3rd Lecture of the FAH Macao Humanities Forum (2022/2023) on 21 April 2023. The forum aims to provide a platform for world-renowned scholars from diverse humanities fields to share their research with the FAH community and other UM scholars. All members of the UM community are cordially invited to this splendid event.
