- 切勿輕信網上招聘訊息,特別是以高薪厚職作招徠的兼職,以防被騙取金錢或個人資料,又或被利用進行犯罪活動;
- 求職時先了解公司背景及相關工作詳細內容;
- 不要向陌生人或不明網站提供個人資料及銀行帳戶資料;
- 切勿應陌生人要求轉帳或匯款;
- 拒絕支付招聘期間不合理的費用;

Dear students and parents,
As the summer holidays are coming, many students plan to get a job to accumulate working experience. Yet, job scams have frequently occurred in recent years as some swindlers target job-seeking teens to defraud their money or lure them to partake in illegal activities.
Past case studies reveal that fraudsters often post fake employment advertisements on social media platforms frequented by teenagers. Such jobs do not require experience, allow workers to work from home, and offer high salaries. In some cases scammers use these excellent working conditions to attract victims to provide personal details and banking information, which they use for illegal purposes. In other cases, they may also trick victims into paying unreasonable fees or use various excuses such as financial investments, “beat cash flow” (increase number of transactions in a bank account), or “brush order” (increase sales by making purchases and getting refunds for those purchases) to defraud victim’s
money. In extreme cases, scammers claim there are jobs in South East Asian countries with great benefits, free plane tickets as well as accommodation. Upon arrival, victims are involuntarily confined and forced to engage in criminal activities such as drug trafficking, telecommunication fraud, etc.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) would like to warn students to stay vigilant when searching for part-time jobs and pay attention to the following:
- Don’t easily trust online job employment advertisements, especially jobs that pay extremely well but require little effort. These jobs may be a hoax to steal your money or personal information, or entice you to participate in illegal activities.
- Carefully research the background and job contents during when applying
for a job. - Do not submit personal information and bank details to unknown
websites. - Never transfer or transmit money upon request from strangers.
- When applying for jobs, aim at accumulating social experience and knowledge rather than financial gains.
