The Honours Project Symposium 2024/2025 was successfully held on April 30, 2025 (Wednesday), in a form of 6 parallel sessions. The HC senior students presented their research project results, and a poster exhibition was held to display their project findings on the same day.

Dear UM Colleagues and Students,

The Honours College (HC) cordially invites you to join the Honours Project Symposium 2024/2025 to be held on April 30, 2025 (Wednesday) at E12.

The Symposium provides an opportunity to highlight HC students’ academic achievements across all majors, programs, departments, and divisions. It also offers a forum for students to demonstrate their understanding of the perspectives, theories, concepts, and skills they have learned and acquired from the course HONR4001 Honours Project.

The Symposium will take the form of 6 parallel sessions in the afternoon in Rooms E12-G020, G021, 1015, 1016, 1017, and 1018. HC senior students will present their research project results, followed by a Q&A session. A poster exhibition will be held simultaneously in Room E12-G025. All UM staffs and students are welcome to attend this Symposium.

Honours College Certificate Programme 2025/2026 Application Season

Greetings from Honours College!

Honours College (HC) aims to bring together high achieving undergraduates from all disciplines and create opportunities for them to achieve academic excellence, build international perspective, and establish leadership and social responsibility.

We are pleased to announce our upcoming two application periods: 

Open Application
Application Period: Mar 3 – 14, 2025
Target students: Undergraduate students at 1st year of study for 4-year degree programme (2nd year of study for 5-year degree programme)
Requirements: A minimum of 3.3 *Cumulative GPA (Cumulative Scale Average 15 for Faculty of Law) is required at the time of application and admission.
Interested students please apply through Honours College (HC).

Recommended Admission
Submission of Nomination by Residential Colleges (RCs)/ Student Affairs Office (SAO) to HC: April-May, 2025
Target students: Undergraduate students at 1st year of study for 4-year degree programme (2nd year of study for 5-year degree programme)
Requirements: A minimum of 3.0 *Cumulative GPA (Cumulative Scale Average 14 for Faculty of Law) is required at the time of recommendation and admission.
Interested students please approach your home RCs or SAO for selection details.

*Cumulative GPA/ Scale Average refers to the overall performance of a student in all the semesters of the specified years of studies, including all courses taken for the degree programme, minor programme(s) and etc.

We are still accepting registrations ! If you’re looking to improve your understanding, or gain confidence in your studies, we invite you to become one of our tutees.

HC students have initiated the “Honours College Tutor Programme” since 2011. The programme aims to provide study assistance to UM undergraduate students by providing one-on-one tutorials. All tutors are current HC senior students with outstanding academic competitiveness and a great willingness to offer help. 

The tutorials are process-oriented and learner-centered, requiring the active engagement from each student. Tutorials will mainly focus on the areas below:
– Study Strategies
– Specific Courses’ Contents
– Essay/Exam Preparation

If whatever you want to do succeeded, what would you love to see happening now? In the sharing, Ms. Viva Wong will go through the most important questions that you can answer NOW to prepare for what you have always wanted to do years ago.
