澳大就業及實習資訊展將於3月26日舉行

澳門大學將於3月26日(星期三)舉辦“2025澳門大學就業及實習資訊展”,將有逾110間來自不同行業的企業和機構在澳大擺設招聘攤位,提供超過3,000個職位空缺。

就業及實習資訊展為澳大一年一度的校園招聘活動,旨在促進應屆畢業生與企業的就業配對,以及為學生提供尋找暑期實習的平台。此外,資訊展還包括網上求職指南、企業和機構介紹、招聘講座、工作坊、就業諮詢服務等活動。

UM Career and Internship Fair to take place on 26 March

The University of Macau (UM) will hold the UM Career and Internship Fair 2025 on 26 March (Wednesday). More than 110 companies and organisations from various industries will set up recruitment booths at the university, offering over 3,000 job opportunities.

The Career and Internship Fair is an annual recruitment event at UM that aims to help graduating students seek job opportunities and provide a platform for students to find summer internships. The fair also offers an online job search guide, introductions to companies and organisations, recruitment talks, workshops, and career advising services.

The fair will take place in the Multi-function Hall of the UM Guest House (N1-G008), from 11:00am to 5:30pm (last entry at 5:00pm). Companies and organisations will set up recruitment booths at the venue. All students are welcome to bring their personal information and dress formally to explore potential career opportunities at the fair. 人工智能專家將於澳大談學件探索

澳門大學將於3月25日(星期二)舉辦“大學講壇”,南京大學副校長、國際人工智能聯合會理事會主席周志華將以“學件的初步探索”為題發表演說,探討“學件”這一機器學習新理念。歡迎有興趣人士參加。

周志華是世界頂尖的人工智能專家,主要從事人工智能、機器學習和數據挖掘領域的研究工作,尤其在集成學習、多標簽學習、弱監督學習等前沿研究方向取得了突破性成果。他撰寫了《集成學習:基礎與算法》、《機器學習》等多部著作,並在國際頂級期刊和會議上發表超過200篇高水平論文,引用次數逾10萬次。他的卓越成就獲得國際學術界高度認可,先後當選為ACM、AAAI、AAAS、IEEE等學會會士及歐洲科學院外籍院士,並獲中國國家自然科學獎及IEEE計算機學會Edward J. McCluskey技術成就獎等。

AI expert to give talk on preliminary exploration to learnware at UM

The University of Macau (UM) will hold a talk titled ‘A Preliminary Exploration to Learnware’ on 25 March (Tuesday) as part of the University Lecture Series. The talk will be given by Zhou Zhi-Hua, vice president of Nanjing University and president of the International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization (IJCAI) Trustee, who will talk about the innovative concept of ‘learnware’ in machine learning.

由澳門大學創新創業中心主辦的“中銀盃極創客創業大賽”現正接受報名,歡迎澳門大專院校在讀學生及在澳門境外大專院校就讀的澳門居民組隊參賽。是次比賽的獎金總額超過11萬澳門元,前三名及優勝獎得主團隊將獲入駐澳大創新創業中心,享有總價值逾15萬澳門元的孵化服務。比賽獲澳門中銀冠名支持。

UM holds Bank of China Trophy UltiMater Entrepreneur Competition, with total prize pool over MOP 110,000

The Bank of China Trophy UltiMater Entrepreneur Competition, organised by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of the University of Macau (UM), is now open for applications. Students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Macao, as well as Macao residents studying in higher education institutions outside Macao, are welcome to participate in the competition in teams. The total prize pool is over MOP 110,000. The top three teams and the winners of the Outstanding Prizes will have the opportunity to be incubated at CIE and will have access to incubation services worth over MOP 150,000. The competition is sponsored by Bank of China Macau Branch.

The competition aims to identify potential technology and innovation projects in areas such as big data/artificial intelligence, robotics/smart manufacturing, new materials, fintech, biomedicine/healthcare, and low-carbon technology/sustainable development. Professionals will assess the feasibility of the student teams’ business plans, paving the way for their future entrepreneurial ambitions. The competition also aims to promote the commercialisation of university research results and foster communication and business connections between higher education institutions and Macao’s industries, investors, government, and community organisations, in the hope of leveraging business and market support to increase conversion rates and create a vibrant ecosystem for innovation and research.

CIE will provide a range of incubation services to the winning teams, including office space, professional mentoring and advisory services, entrepreneurship training programmes, and visits to renowned enterprises in mainland China. In addition, CIE will recommend outstanding companies to apply for the ‘Funding Scheme for Innovation and Research of Enterprises—Matching Projects’ launched by the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) of the Macao SAR, to further implement their business plans and establish a platform for entrepreneurial resources and supply-demand matching.

UM students win award in Huawei ICT Competition Asia-Pacific Regional Final

A student team from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of the University of Macau (UM) represented Macao in the Asia-Pacific Regional Final of the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 and won the second prize in the Computing Track. The competition attracted over 8,000 students from more than 20 countries and regions worldwide. After rounds of competition, over 110 students from 12 countries and regions advanced to the Asia-Pacific Regional Final, and the UM team stood out for their exceptional performance.

The team comprised Tan Hongye, Lei Wai Hong, and Ho Ka Meng, students from the Department of Computer and Information Science of FST. They received high praise from the judges with their exceptional teamwork, solid professional knowledge, and strategic planning. This is also the first time that a team from UM has won an award in the computing track in the Asia-Pacific Regional Final of the competition. The student team will continue to represent Macao in the Global Final in Shenzhen in May, where they will compete against top teams from around the world.

FST is committed to providing students with cutting-edge academic knowledge and practical opportunities, encouraging them to participate in international competitions to enhance their global competitiveness. The award not only recognises the students’ professional skills but also highlights FST’s long-standing dedication to teaching quality and nurturing innovative talent. The faculty will continue to enhance its teaching quality and nurture more outstanding talent with international competitiveness, thereby contributing to the technological development of Macao and beyond.

The Huawei ICT Competition, jointly organised by Huawei and the ASEAN Foundation, aims to enhance students’ knowledge and practical skills in information and communication technology, and develop their innovation and creativity in using new technologies and platforms. Last year, a student team from FST won the second prize in the Practice Competition–Cloud Track in the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Global Final.

澳大在細菌輔助化學合成研究取得新突破

澳門大學健康科學學院教授張宣軍的研究團隊利用木醋桿菌的發酵作用,使醣基化分子在細菌體內通過原位醣苷化反應摻雜到手性細菌纖維素中,開發了以生物方法製備圓偏振發光材料的新策略,在細菌輔助化學合成方面獲得突破性進展。該研究以“微生物輔助的圓偏振發光細菌纖維素雜化材料製備”為題,刊登於國際知名期刊《自然-通訊》。

手性普遍存在於自然界之中,大到宇宙星雲、大氣氣旋,小到蝸牛貝殼、牽牛花藤蔓,甚至是構成生命體的核心分子,都可以發現手性的蹤跡。圓偏振光作為一種光手性現象,可被應用於信息加密、信息儲存、3D顯示、生物醫學影像等領域。然而,不同於熒光信號,圓偏振光信號與分子左右旋光信號的差值成正比,因此大部分發光分子圓偏振光信號非常弱,如何提升發光不對稱因子是開發圓偏振光材料的關鍵。

目前,該類材料主要由有機化學合成和分子組裝兩個途徑製備。化學合成途徑涉及到複雜冗長的合成步驟以及手性拆分;而分子組裝途徑則是通過分子間弱相互作用使發光分子置於手性環境中,但弱相互作用導致了產品穩定性差。生物合成途徑,在各種生物酶的催化下,具備自發、綠色且高效的特性。由於生物體內含有大量如L-氨基酸,D-葡萄糖等類別的手性分子,使得生物合成在製備圓偏振發光材料方面具備得天獨厚的優勢。然而,由於缺乏生物活性發光前體和合適的生物反應器,圓偏振發光材料的可控生物合成仍面臨諸多挑戰。此外,生物活性發光前體共價鍵嵌入的確認方法也有待進一步發展。

《齊民要術》中記載,人們在食醋釀製過程中的發酵液表面發現有凝膠狀菌膜(即細菌纖維素)形成。研究團隊於此受到啟發,設計了一系列具備不同發光顏色的醣基化分子。利用木醋桿菌的發酵作用,使醣基化分子在細菌體內通過原位醣苷化反應摻雜到手性細菌纖維素中。該策略可實現醣基化分子的圓偏振發光從無到有、從小到大的突破,最大可讓其發光不對稱因子實現39倍的提升。此外,研究團隊開發了纖維素酶催化水解細菌纖維素的方法,確認該生物合成的發生,為驗證醣基化熒光分子生物聚合提供了可靠的表徵手段。更重要的是,該策略普適性強,已成功拓展到一系列圓偏振發光材料的開發,並成功用於信息儲存及熒光—圓偏振熒光雙模式檢測金屬離子。

UM achieves breakthrough in bacterialbacteria-assisted biosynthesis

The research team led by Zhang Xuanjun, professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at the University of Macau (UM), has made a breakthrough in bacterialbacteria-assisted chemical synthesis. By utilising the fermentation of Acetobacter xylinum, the team incorporated glycosylated fluorescent molecules into chiral bacterial cellulose through in situ glycosylation reactions. This innovative approach represents a new strategy for the biosynthesis of circularly polarised luminescent materials. The research, titled ‘Microbe-assisted fabrication of circularly polarised luminescent bacterial cellulosic hybrids’, has been published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications.

Chirality is ubiquitous in nature, observable in phenomena ranging from cosmic nebulae and atmospheric vortices to the snail shells and morning glory vines, and even in the core molecules that make up living organisms. Circularly polarised light (CPL), as an expression of optical chirality, has applications in fields such as information encryption, data storage, 3D displays, and biomedical imaging. However, unlike fluorescence signals, the intensity of CPL signals is proportional to the difference between the left- and right-handed luminescence of molecules, leading to very weak CPL signals for most luminescent molecules. Enhancing the luminescence dissymmetry factor is thus crucial for developing effective CPL materials.

Currently, these materials are mainly prepared through two approaches: organic chemical synthesis and molecular assembly. The chemical synthesis route involves complex and lengthy synthesis steps, including chiral separation, while the molecular assembly route places luminescent molecules in a chiral environment through weak intermolecular interactions. However, the latter method often results in poor product stability. Biosynthesis, catalysed by various enzymes, is spontaneous, green, and efficient. The abundance of chiral molecules such as L-amino acids and D-glucose in organisms provides distinct advantages for biosynthesis in preparing CPL materials. Nevertheless, challenges remain in the controlled biosynthesis of CPL materials due to the lack of bioactive luminescent precursors and suitable bioreactors, as well as the need for improved methods to confirm the covalent embedding of bioactive luminescent precursors.

Qimin Yaoshu (literally: Essential Techniques for the Welfare of the People), an ancient book on Chinese agriculture, documents the formation of a gel-like bacterial membrane (i.e. bacterial cellulose) on the surface of the fermentation liquid during the vinegar brewing process. Inspired by this, the research team designed a series of glycosylated molecules with different luminescent colours. Using the bacterial fermentation of Acetobacter xylinum, the glycosylated molecules were incorporated into chiral bacterial cellulose through in situ glycosylation reactions within the bacteria. This strategy achieved a breakthrough in the circularly polarised luminescence of glycosylated molecules, increasing the luminescence dissymmetry factor by up to 39 times. In addition, the research team developed a method for the enzymatic hydrolysis of bacterial cellulose, confirming the occurrence of this biosynthesis and providing a reliable characterisation method for verifying the biological polymerisation of glycosylated fluorescent molecules. More importantly, this strategy demonstrates strong universality and has been successfully extended to the development of a series of circularly polarised luminescent materials, which have been effectively utilised for information storage and dual-mode detection of metal ions using both fluorescence and circularly polarised luminescence.

The corresponding authors of this study are Prof Zhang, Chris Wong Koon Ho, associate professor in UM FHS, and Wu Changfeng, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology. The first author is Sun Yongjie, a PhD student from UM FHS. 中醫藥合成生物學聯合實驗室於澳大揭牌

澳門大學中華醫藥研究院、中藥質量研究國家重點實驗室與中國科學院天津工業生物技術研究所今(11)日在澳大舉行“澳門中醫藥合成生物學論壇”以及“中醫藥合成生物學聯合實驗室”合作協議簽署和揭牌儀式,以推動中醫藥與合成生物學的交叉融合,探索中醫藥現代化與國際化發展的新路徑。

論壇開幕式上,澳大校長宋永華表示,中醫藥是中華民族的瑰寶,而合成生物學作為新興學科,為中醫藥的現代化提供了全新的技術手段;澳大希望通過是次論壇,進一步加強澳門與內地科研機構的合作,推動中醫藥合成生物學領域的創新發展。

中國科學院天津工業生物技術研究所所長向華在致辭中指出,合成生物學在生物製造、藥物研發等領域具有廣闊的應用前景,與中醫藥的結合將為傳統醫藥的現代化提供重要支撐。他期待通過雙方緊密合作,共同推動中醫藥合成生物學的研究與產業化發展。

隨後,澳門大學與中國科學院天津工業生物技術研究所簽署“中醫藥合成生物學聯合實驗室”合作協議及進行揭牌儀式。該聯合實驗室的成立標誌著雙方在中醫藥合成生物學領域的合作邁入新階段,未來將聚焦中醫藥資源的合成生物學研究、新藥開發及產業化應用。

論壇還舉辦了以“澳門發展中藥合成生物學與生物製造的現狀、機遇與挑戰”為主題的圓桌會議。一眾來自學術界、產業界和政府部門的專家學者共同探討通過強強合作及充分發揮澳門“一國兩制”優勢,加速澳門中醫藥合成生物學研究與中藥生物製造產業化的發展前景。論壇還邀請了中國科學院天津工業生物研究所研究員和澳門大學中華醫藥研究院教授作主題報告,分享中醫藥合成生物學領域的最新研究成果與技術進展,探討合成生物學技術在中醫藥資源開發中的潛力,以及介紹合成生物學在中藥活性成分研究中的最新進展。

UM inaugurates UM-TIB Joint Laboratory for Synthetic Biology and Chinese Medicine

The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine of the University of Macau (UM) and the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly held the Macao Forum on Synthetic Biology and Traditional Chinese Medicine and the agreement signing and plaque unveiling ceremony for the UM-TIB Joint Laboratory for Synthetic Biology today (11 March). The event aimed to promote the interdisciplinary integration of Chinese medicine and synthetic biology, and explore new pathways for the modernisation and internationalisation of Chinese medicine.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, UM Rector Yonghua Song said that synthetic biology, as an emerging discipline, provides new technological means for the modernisation of Chinese medicine. He expressed hope that the forum would further strengthen cooperation between Macao and research institutes in mainland China, and drive innovative development in the field of synthetic biology for Chinese medicine.

In his speech, TIB Director-General Xiang Hua highlighted the vast application prospects of synthetic biology in fields such as biomanufacturing and drug research and development. He looks forward to close cooperation between the two parties to advance the research and industrialisation of synthetic biology for Chinese medicine.

Following the speeches, representatives of UM and TIB signed an agreement and unveiled the plaque for the UM-TIB Joint Laboratory for Synthetic Biology and Chinese Medicine. The joint laboratory will focus on synthetic biology research for Chinese medicine, new drug development, and industrial applications.

The forum also featured a roundtable discussion on ‘The Current Status, Opportunities, and Challenges of Developing Synthetic Biology and Biomanufacturing for Chinese Medicine in Macao’ and presentations by professors from ICMS and TIB. It brought together experts and scholars from academia, industry representatives, and government officials.

國際權威專家匯聚澳大 探討TNFR2免疫調節及創新藥物研製

“TNFR2免疫生物學及免疫藥理學國際研討會”於3月3日至4日在澳門大學舉行,吸引來自世界各地知名高等院校如哈佛大學、牛津大學、耶魯大學、約翰霍普金斯大學等國際頂尖專家學者及醫藥產業界研發人員參與。為期兩天的研討會為澳門及內地從事生命科學的專家提供了寶貴的交流與合作平台,青年科研人員更能藉此機會與國際知名科學家進行深入互動。

研討會由澳門大學中華醫藥研究院院長、中藥質量研究國家重點實驗室主任陳新與哈佛大學教授Denise L. Faustman共同組織。澳大校長宋永華在開幕式致辭表示,澳大一直致力推進生物醫學前沿領域的研究與教育,同時著力促進國際間的學術合作。陳新表示,澳門在TNFR2方面的研究成就已經成為全球科技界在該領域共同努力的一個重要組成部分,彰顯了澳門對當代科學技術的貢獻;他亦感謝澳門特別行政區科學技術發展基金對澳門開展TNFR2領域研究給予的重要支持。

研討會匯聚哈佛大學、牛津大學、耶魯大學、約翰霍普金斯大學、萊頓大學、美國國家衛生研究院/國家癌症研究所、法國國家健康與醫學研究院、圖盧茲大學、維爾茨堡大學、皇家墨爾本理工大學、加州大學聖地亞哥分校、梅奧診所醫學與科學學院、格羅寧根大學、根特大學、南丹麥大學、佛羅里達大學、邁阿密大學、杜克-新加坡國立大學醫學院、馬來西亞理科大學、澳門大學以及香港、內地著名學術與科研機構的科研人員。來自BioNTech-雷薩諾有限責任公司、波士頓免疫技術與治療公司、高誠生物、先聲藥業、阿諾醫藥等國際醫藥產業界代表則報告了對靶向TNFR2創新藥物研發的最新進展。

研討會還展示了21份來自不同國家及地區的海報,為學術交流提供更多互動契機。另外,研討會被美國白細胞生物學學會認定為其官方支持活動,設立優秀青年研究獎,評選優秀海報,並為獲獎者提供一千美元獎金。評審委員會由法國國家健康與醫學研究院教授Benoit L. Salomon、維爾茨堡大學教授Harald Wajant及約翰霍普金斯大學助理教授Nathan Archer組成,經過嚴格評選,澳門大學博士生陳忠豪、王一茹與百奧賽圖(北京)醫藥科技股份有限公司研究員周小飛獲該項殊榮。

此外,還有近300名來自世界各地知名高等院校、科研機構、製藥企業、創新基金機構的學生、學者及專業代表參與研討會,針對TNFR2在自體免疫疾病及腫瘤治療中的應用潛力展開深入研討。Denise L. Faustman在閉幕式上指出,如今科學界越來越重視TNFR2作為靶點在腫瘤與自體免疫疾病治療中的重要潛力,圍繞其免疫生物學機制的深入研究,對推動創新藥物的研發有重要意義,是次研討會的交流和討論為未來的突破性進展奠定了良好基礎。

澳門特別行政區科學技術發展基金行政委員會委員葉桂林、教育及青年發展局高等教育廳廳長許嘉路等出席了開幕式。

International experts gather at UM to discuss TNFR2 immunoregulation and innovative drug development

The International Symposium on TNFR2 Immunobiology and Immunopharmacology was held at the University of Macau (UM) from 3 to 4 March 2025. The event brought together renowned experts and scholars from prestigious institutions worldwide, including Harvard University, University of Oxford, Yale University, and Johns Hopkins University, as well as R&D professionals from the pharmaceutical industry. The two-day symposium provided a valuable platform for exchange and cooperation among experts in life sciences from Macao and mainland China, allowing young researchers to interact with internationally renowned scientists.

The symposium was co-organised by Professor Chen Xin, director of the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences and director of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine at UM, and Professor Denise L. Faustman from Harvard University. In his opening remarks, UM Rector Yonghua Song highlighted UM’s commitment to advancing research and education on the frontline of biomedicine and promoting international academic cooperation. Chen noted that Macao’s research achievements in TNFR2 (tumour necrosis factor receptor type II) have become an important part of global efforts in the field, showcasing Macao’s contributions to contemporary science and technology. He also thanked the Science and Technology Development Fund of the Macao SAR for its significant support of conducting TNFR2 research in Macao.

The event brought together researchers from Harvard University, University of Oxford, Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, Leiden University, National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm), University of Toulouse, University of Würzburg, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University), University of California, San Diego, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, University of Groningen, Ghent University, University of Southern Denmark, University of Florida, University of Miami, Duke-National University of Singapore (NUS) Medical School, Universiti Sains Malaysia, University of Macau (UM), and renowned academic and research institutions from Hong Kong and mainland China. Representatives from pharmaceutical companies worldwide, including BioNTech-resano GmbH, Boston Immune Technologies and Therapeutics (BITT), HiFiBiO Therapeutics, Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, and Adlai Nortye, reported on the latest research on the development of innovative drugs targeting TNFR2.

The symposium also featured 21 poster presentations from different countries and regions, providing more opportunities for academic exchange. Moreover, the symposium was an event officially endorsed by the US-based Society for Leukocyte Biology (SLB), which presented the Poster Award with prize of USD 1,000 to outstanding young researchers. The selection committee comprised of Professor Benoit L. Salomon from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm), Professor Harald Wajant from the University of Würzburg, and Assistant Professor Nathan Archer from Johns Hopkins University. After a rigorous selection process, UM doctoral students Chen Zhonghao and Wang Yiru, along with Zhou Xiaofei, a researcher from Biocytogen Pharmaceuticals (Beijing) Co Ltd, received the awards.

Nearly 300 students, scholars, and professionals from renowned universities, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, and innovation funding agencies worldwide also attended the symposium and engaged in in-depth discussions on the potential applications of TNFR2 in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer. In her closing remarks, Faustman said that TNFR2 is now considered a promising target in the treatment of tumours and autoimmune diseases. In-depth research into its immunobiological mechanisms is crucial for driving innovative drug development. She added that exchanges and discussions at the symposium have laid a solid foundation for future breakthroughs.

Also present at the opening ceremony of the symposium were Ip Kuai Lam, member of the Administrative Committee of the Science and Technology Development Fund of the Macao SAR and Carlos Roberto Xavier, head of the Department of Higher Education of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government.

澳大副校長出席葡萄牙語大學聯會理事會會議

澳門大學副校長馬許願(Rui Martins)代表澳大到葡萄牙里斯本出席葡萄牙語大學聯會(AULP)理事會會議。此次會議有13所來自葡語國家及地區的高等院校代表參加,這些院校在AULP分別擔任主席、理事會及監事會的成員,澳大為AULP副主席之一。

是次會議由擔任聯會主席的佛得角大學校長José Arlindo Barreto主持。會議上,理事會審批了2024年活動、帳目報告及2025年預算。理事會亦一致確認澳大將於2026年6月在澳門舉辦第35屆AULP年會,以慶祝AULP成立40周年和澳大成立45周年。議程更重點介紹了聯會的出版物,以及AULP交流計劃、Erasmus+計劃等交流計劃的數據。

馬許願對AULP的相關計劃表示肯定,並建議2026年的《葡語國際研究期刊》(RILP)以葡語及英語出版,以便將來能夠被SCOPUS索引。

會上,莫桑比克贊比西大學(UniZambeze)校長Bettencourt Capece匯報了第34屆AULP年會的籌備情況。年會將於2025年6月16至18日在莫桑比克貝拉舉行,由贊比西大學與利昆戈大學(UniLicungo)、莫桑比克天主教大學(UCM)、公開大學(UnISCED)、阿爾貝托奇潘德大學(UniAC)等當地大學聯合舉辦。

AULP由200多所來自葡語國家及地區的高等院校組成,其使命為推動成員間的相互交流,促進葡語教育的發展。澳大現時擔任2024至2027年AULP副主席。

UM vice rector attends AULP’s Board of Administrators meeting

Rui Martins, vice rector of the University of Macau (UM), recently attended the Board of Administrators meeting of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Universities (AULP) held in Lisbon, Portugal, on behalf of UM. The meeting was attended by representatives of 13 higher education institutions from Portuguese-speaking countries and regions, all of whom hold positions as the president and members of the Board of Administrators and the Board of Supervisors of AULP. UM currently serves as one of the vice-presidents of AULP.

The meeting was chaired by José Arlindo Barreto, rector of the University of Cape Verde, who also serves as the president of AULP. During the meeting, the Board of Administrators approved the activity and account reports for 2024, and the budget report for 2025. Additionally, the Board of Administrators unanimously confirmed that UM will host the 35th AULP annual meeting in Macao in June 2026 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of AULP and the 45th anniversary of UM. The agenda also included presentations on AULP publications and statistical data on exchange programmes such as the AULP Exchange Programme and the Erasmus+ Programme.

Martins expressed support for AULP’s initiatives and suggested that the journal Revista Internacional em Língua Portuguesa (RILP) be published in both Portuguese and English in 2026, so that it can be indexed by Scopus in the future.

In addition, Bettencourt Capece, rector of Zambeze University in Mozambique, reported on their preparations for the 34th AULP annual meeting, which will take place from 16 to 18 June 2025 in Beira, Mozambique. The event will be jointly organised by local universities including Zambeze University (UniZambeze), Licungo University (UniLicungo), Catholic University of Mozambique (UCM), ISCED Open University (UnISCED), and Alberto Chipande University (UniAC).

AULP is comprised of more than 200 higher education institutions from Portuguese-speaking countries and regions, with the mission of promoting communication among its members and advancing the development of Portuguese language education. UM currently serves as vice-president of AULP for the term 2024-2027.

O Vice-Reitor da UM participa na reunião do Conselho de Administração da AULP

O Professor Rui Martins, vice-reitor da Universidade de Macau (UM), em representação dessa instituição, participou recentemente na reunião do Conselho de Administração da Associação das Universidades de Língua Portuguesa (AULP) realizada em Lisboa, Portugal. A reunião atraiu representantes de 13 instituições de ensino superior de países e regiões de língua portuguesa, Treze instituições participaram desta conferência, sendo membros da presidência, do Conselho de Administração e Conselho Fiscal da AULP. A UM está atualmente a servir como uma das vice-presidências da AULP.

A reunião deste ano foi presidida pelo Professor José Arlindo Barreto, presidente da AULP e reitor da Universidade de Cabo Verde. Durante a reunião, o Conselho de Administração aprovou o relatório de atividades e contas de 2024, bem como o orçamento para 2025. Além disso, afirmou mais uma vez a disponibilidade da UM para organizar o XXXV Encontro Anual da AULP em junho de 2026 em Macau, no âmbito da celebração dos 40 anos da AULP e dos 45 anos da Universidade de Macau, o que foi unanimemente aprovado pelo Conselho. A agenda também destacou as edições publicadas da AULP e apresentou os dados estatísticos dos Programas de Mobilidade, incluindo o Programa Mobilidade AULP e os Programas Erasmus+.

O Professor Rui Martins elogiou os devidos programas da AULP e propôs que a RILP (Revista Internacional em Língua Portuguesa) de 2026 fosse publicada em português e inglês para que seja possível a indexação pela SCOPUS no futuro.

Além disso, o Professor Bettencourt Capece, reitor da Universidade Zambeze (Moçambique), deu conta dos preparativos para o XXXIV Encontro AULP que terá lugar de 16 a 18 de junho de 2025 na Beira, Moçambique sob o acolhimento da Universidade Zambeze (UniZambeze) em conjunto com: Universidade Licungo (UniLicungo), Universidade Católica de Moçambique (UCM), Universidade Aberta (UnISCED) e Universidade Alberto Chipande (UniAC).

A AULP reúne mais de 200 instituições de ensino superior de países e regiões de língua portuguesa e tem como missão promover a comunicação entre os seus membros, bem como o desenvolvimento do ensino da língua portuguesa. A UM está atualmente a servir como vice-presidente da AULP para o mandato de 2024-2027.

華大集團董事長、聯合創始人汪建今(28)日率團訪問澳門大學,獲澳大校長宋永華熱情接待。雙方就共同推進產學研等合作議題進行深入交流,為雙方未來的科研合作奠定堅實基礎。

華大集團訪問團參觀了澳大中藥質量研究國家重點實驗室和健康科學學院,對其先進的科研設備和嚴謹的研究留下了深刻印象。雙方隨後舉行座談會,就產學研合作議題、雙方學生聯合培養、科研平台共用、未來合作的具體項目等議題進行交流。

訪問團表示,願為澳大學生提供實習和就業機會,同時開放其先進的科研平台,促進雙方科研合作和人才交流。宋永華表示,將依託自身的科研和教育資源,與華大集團形成優勢互補,共同推動科研成果的轉化和應用;並向訪問團介紹了澳門大學橫琴粵澳深度合作區校區建設情況。

訪問團成員還包括華大集團執行董事、戰略委員會主任梅永紅,南區首席代表、華大研究院資深副院長劉心等。澳大副校長葛偉、健康科學學院院長鄧初夏、中華醫藥研究院院長陳新、研究生院院長王百鍵、研究服務及知識轉移辦公室代主任周建濤等亦參與接待。

BGI Group Chairman leads delegation to visit UM

A delegation led by Wang Jian, chairman of the Board of Directors and co-founder of BGI Group, visited the University of Macau (UM) today (28 February) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song. The two parties had in-depth discussions on promoting industry-academia collaboration, laying the foundation for future research collaboration.

The delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences and was impressed by the state-of-the-art research facilities and rigorous approach to research. The two parties also had a meeting to discuss industry-academia collaboration, joint student training, sharing of research platforms, and future cooperation.

The delegation expressed interest in providing internship and employment opportunities for UM students and access to its research platforms for the university, thereby promoting research collaboration and talent cultivation between the two sides. Song said that UM and BGI Group will leverage their complementary strengths to jointly foster the commercialisation and application of research results. He also introduced the delegation to the construction of the UM campus in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

澳大訪愛爾蘭一流高校促高教合作

為進一步拓闊澳門大學的國際合作網絡,重點加強與英語國家高校的學術合作與交流,澳大副校長馬許願(Rui Martins)率團訪問愛爾蘭多所一流高校,與各高校代表共同探討並落實多項合作計劃。
 
馬許願表示,訪問不僅鞏固了澳大與愛爾蘭高校的合作關係,更為未來在教學、科研、人才培養等領域的深度合作開闢了廣闊前景。澳大致力提升辦學水平及推動校園國際化,與愛爾蘭頂尖高校的合作將進一步加強澳大與英語國家高校的聯繫,為澳大國際化建設注入新的動力。
 
訪問期間,澳大代表團到訪知名高校都柏林三一學院,與該校全球事務總監、電子工程系主任Anil Kokaram及工學院代表會談。雙方就師生交流計劃、雙學位合作及聯合科研項目進行深入討論並達成共識,將在電力學、智慧城市物聯網等領域加強合作,充分發揮兩校的互補優勢、建立長期的合作機制。
 
澳大代表團還訪問格里菲斯學院,與該校校長Diarmuid Hegarty會面,就促進兩校教學和科研合作交換意見。兩校有意在國際關係、電子學等領域探討學位課程合作,並重點加強在材料科學、微電子和電機工程領域的合作,共同培養具有全球競爭力的創新人才。
 
在都柏林大學學院,澳大代表團獲該校工程及建築學院副院長Tom Curran熱情接待,並與該校工程學、機電及材料科學等學科代表進行工作會議。雙方同意通過師生交換、聯合科研項目、學術研討會等方式深化兩校科研交流。馬許願及澳大微電子研究院副院長冼世榮亦與該校專家學者和學生進行座談,並介紹澳大近年在微電子領域的產學研成果。在場師生對澳大取得的成就表示高度讚賞,期望未來有機會赴澳大研學。
 
此外,澳大代表團亦訪問了都柏林城市大學,與該校校長Daire Keogh、工程及計算機學院副院長Conor Brennan、全球關係處處長Charlotte Holland及多名學科代表會面。雙方商討共同推進師生交流互訪,探討在工程學、微電子、計算機、智慧城市等領域開展合作,並就合辦雙學位項目達成一致共識。

UM delegation visits top universities in Ireland to promote higher education cooperation

To further expand the University of Macau’s (UM) international cooperation network and strengthen academic partnerships with universities in English-speaking countries, UM Vice Rector Rui Martins led a delegation to several top higher education institutions in Ireland to explore cooperation, with consensus reached on several collaborative projects.

Martins said that the visit has not only strengthened UM’s relationship with universities in Ireland, but also opened up broad prospects for future cooperation in teaching, research, and talent cultivation. UM is committed to enhancing its educational standards and promoting the internationalisation of its campus. Establishing partnerships with top universities in Ireland will further strengthen UM’s ties with institutions in the English-speaking world and give a new impetus to UM’s internationalisation efforts.

The UM delegation visited Trinity College Dublin and met with Anil Kokaram, director of global engagement and head of the Department of Electronic Engineering, and representatives of the School of Engineering. The two parties held in-depth discussions on student and faculty exchange programmes, dual degree programmes, and joint research projects. They also reached a consensus to strengthen cooperation in areas such as power engineering and Internet of Things for smart city, with a view to leveraging the complementary strengths of the two universities and establishing long-term cooperation.

The UM delegation also visited Griffith College, where they met with President Diarmuid Hegarty to exchange views on enhancing teaching and research collaboration between the two institutions. Both institutions expressed interest in exploring cooperation on degree programmes in fields such as international relations and electronics, as well as promoting cooperation in materials science, microelectronics, and electrical engineering to develop innovative and globally competitive talent.

At University College Dublin (UCD), the UM delegation was warmly received by Tom Curran, vice principal of the College of Engineering & Architecture. They also had a meeting with UCD representatives from disciplines including engineering, mechanical and materials science. Both sides agreed to promote research exchanges between the two universities through student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and academic seminars. Martins and Sin Sai Weng, deputy director of the UM Institute of Microelectronics, also held discussions with UCD scholars and students and presented UM’s research outcomes of industry-academia collaboration in microelectronics in recent years. The participating UCD members spoke highly of UM’s achievements and expressed hope for future opportunities to study and conduct research at UM.

The UM delegation also visited Dublin City University (DCU), where they met with Daire Keogh, president of DCU, Conor Brennan, associate dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing, Charlotte Holland, dean of global relations, and several faculty representatives. The two parties discussed the promotion of student and faculty exchanges and explored cooperation in engineering, microelectronics, computer science, and smart city. They also reached a consensus on establishing dual degree programmes.
