澳大教育博士學位課程開課

澳門大學教育學院舉行2024/2025學年教育博士(EdD)學位課程入學簡介會。今屆課程共錄取32位精英,包括來自北京、上海、四川、浙江、粵港澳大灣區等地的各級教育機構人員。

澳大校長宋永華致辭時表示,澳大近年來在多元化和國際化方面發展迅猛,憑借一流的科研團隊和國際影響力,正穩步邁向國際公認的卓越大學行列。他希望學生在學術道路上能夠堅定信念,勇於探索,在澳大實現學術夢想,並通過教育實踐為國家和全球教育事業作出貢獻。

澳大教育學院院長范良火表示,教育博士學位課程旨在培養具有全球視野和創新能力的教育領袖。他鼓勵新生積極探索不同文化的教育理念,融合東西方智慧,促進教育事業的持續進步。教育博士學位課程主任周憶粟則介紹了課程設置和學習要求,強調新生在往後三年需要結合理論學習和實踐應用,逐步提升專業能力。

在分享環節,澳大教育學院教育學士學位(中文)課程統籌人龔陽建議新生將研究與自身的教育經歷相結合,多與導師和學生交流,並專注於感興趣的研究。澳大教育博士學位課程二年級學生楊帆及林凱欣亦分享了學習心得,建議新生充分利用大學的豐富資源,保持好奇心和批判性思維,並鼓勵他們設定短期和長期目標,積極參與學術討論。

UM holds orientation for students of EdD programme

The Faculty of Education (FED) of the University of Macau (UM) held an orientation for the 2024/2025 intake of the Doctor of Education (EdD) programme. This year, the programme has admitted 32 elite students, including personnel from educational institutions in Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

In his speech, UM Rector Yonghua Song said that UM has made significant achievements in diversification and internationalisation in recent years. With its first-class research teams and growing international influence, UM is on its way to becoming an internationally recognised university of excellence. He expressed hope that the new students will maintain strong convictions and embrace the opportunities for exploration in their academic journeys, so as to fulfil their academic aspirations at UM and contribute to both national and global educational development through educational practices.

Fan Lianghuo, dean of FED, said that the EdD programme aims to nurture educational leaders with a global perspective and innovative capabilities. He encouraged the new cohort to actively explore educational concepts from different cultures, integrate Eastern and Western insights, and promote the continuous advancement of education. In addition, Zhou Yisu, director of the EdD programme, introduced the programme curriculum and requirements. He emphasised the importance for students to integrate theoretical knowledge and practical application over the next three years to enhance their professional skills progressively.

During the sharing session at the orientation, Gong Yang, programme coordinator of the Bachelor of Education programme (Chinese) of FED, advised the new cohort to integrate their own educational experiences into their research. He also encouraged them to maintain frequent communication with their supervisors and peers, and focus on research areas that interest them. Yang Fan and Lam Hoi Ian, second-year students in the EdD programme, shared their learning experiences and encouraged the new students to take full advantage of UM’s abundant resources, as well as to maintain curiosity and critical thinking. They also advised the new students to set both short-term and long-term goals and actively engage in academic discussions.

The UM EdD programme is a professionally-oriented and advanced programme that integrates cutting-edge research and practical skills. It is designed for education professionals from various sectors who have management experience. The programme addresses aspects of higher education, non-tertiary education, education enterprises, as well as management and development of non-profit educational organisations and government agencies. It offers intensive coursework, one-on-one research assessments and evaluations, and thesis supervision by experienced faculty. 澳大新一屆公共行政博士學位課程開課

澳門大學社會科學學院舉行第四屆公共行政博士(DPA)學位課程開學典禮。今屆課程共錄取32位精英,其中包括來自澳門和橫琴粵澳深度合作區的高級管理人才、公司領導、國企管理人員等。

澳大校長宋永華致歡迎辭時表示,澳大始終堅守“為社會、為澳門、為國家”服務的使命,發揮“一國兩制”下澳門特別行政區的辦學優勢,積極配合中央政府和特區政府政策,助力澳門經濟適度多元發展,融入粵港澳大灣區和國家發展大局。澳大的公共行政博士學位課程是目前全國唯一以中文授課的應用型公共行政博士課程,積極為國家和澳門培養高級公共行政人才。宋永華期望第四屆學員能夠充分利用澳大提供的學習平台,不斷探索和挑戰,銳意進取、奮楫篤行,為澳門、國家以至全球公共行政事業作出貢獻。

澳大社會科學學院院長胡偉星表示,課程舉辦了四屆,每年均吸引不少內地和港澳人士報讀,今年的報名人數亦一如既往踴躍,競爭激烈。他又指,在澳大開辦公共行政博士學位課程是一個大膽嘗試,其目標是為大灣區和國家培養更多能夠應對公共行政挑戰的高層次人才。澳大社會科學學院助理院長及公共行政博士學位課程主任文博則介紹了課程設置和具體要求,並希望學員們能夠秉持純粹之心、向學之心、公益之心來完成學業。

期間,澳大公共行政博士學位課程第一、二、三屆學員代表周王安、田巍以及湯志賢亦分享了他們的學習心得,以及在澳大度過的美好時光。

出席活動的嘉賓還包括澳大副校長許敬文、社會科學學院副院長蔡天驥、政府與行政學系系主任吳永紅、全球與公共事務研究所所長潘維等。

UM welcomes new cohort of DPA programme

The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) at the University of Macau (UM) held an orientation for the fourth cohort of the Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) programme. This year, the programme has admitted 32 elite students, including senior management from Macao and the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, leaders of companies, and management from state-owned enterprises.

In his welcome speech, UM Rector Yonghua Song emphasised the university’s mission to serve society, Macao, and the country, as well as its strengths as a higher education institution under the ‘one country, two systems’ policy. The university supports the policies of the central and the Macao SAR governments, and is committed to contributing to Macao’s economic diversification and its integration into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and national development. The UM DPA programme is the only applied DPA programme in China that is taught in Chinese. It aims to cultivate high-calibre public administration talent for Macao and the country. Song encouraged the fourth cohort to fully utilise the learning platforms provided by UM to explore their potential, challenge themselves, and strive for excellence, thereby making contributions to the field of public administration in Macao, the country, and the world.

According to Hu Weixing, dean of FSS, the DPA programme has attracted a large number of applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao every year since its launch four years ago. The programme also saw intense competition for admission this year. Hu added that establishing the DPA programme was a bold initiative for UM. Through the programme, the university aims to cultivate more high-calibre talent capable of addressing public administration challenges in the Greater Bay Area and the country. In addition, Wen Bo, assistant dean of FSS and programme director of DPA, introduced the programme structure and requirements. He encouraged students to cultivate a heart of purity and sincerity in their studies, to nurture a deep and genuine passion for learning, and to remain dedicated to public service and the greater good throughout their life journey.

During the orientation, representatives of the first, second, and third cohorts of the DPA programme—Chao Wong On, Tian Wei, and Tang Zhixian—also shared their learning experiences at UM.

Guests who attended the orientation also included Michael Hui, vice rector of UM; Cai Tianji, associate dean of FSS; Wu Yonghong, head of the Department of Government and Public Administration; and Pan Wei, director of the Institute of Global and Public Affairs.

The UM DPA programme is a professional doctoral degree programme designed to cultivate applied talent. It covers foundational and classic theoretical frameworks, introduces comparative international perspectives, teaches cutting-edge research methods, and develops students’ systematic research thinking and writing skills, as well as their ability to draw practical insights and make ethically justifiable decisions. 澳大新一期電力系統邁向碳中和培訓課程開課

為積極配合國家政策在2060年實現碳中和的目標,澳門大學持續進修中心、澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室和澳門電力股份有限公司合辦“電力系統邁向碳中和培訓課程”,培訓澳門電機工程師掌握電力系統邁向碳中和的技能。

澳大持續進修中心主任劉丁己在開班儀式致辭表示,希望學員在澳大師資和行業專家的指導下,能夠自我增值及掌握更多專業知識,為澳門提供更好的電力系統服務。他又指,澳大的重要任務之一就是為社區服務,致力為發展持續教育和培養本地不同領域的領導者和專業人士作出貢獻。

澳電執行委員會首席顧問岳宗斌表示,澳大和澳電充分利用各自在電力領域的培訓經驗和資源優勢合辦課程,為學員提供淨零排放領域的最新知識和技術。

課程設有12課主題,共87學時,導師主要是澳大科技學院教授、香港註冊工程師和澳電邀請的客席嘉賓。課程內容涵蓋如何設立、維護和操作淨零排放與碳中和系統的概念和要素,說明淨零排放帶來的影響,並探討現代相關的高級量測體系(AMI)、電力系統資產管理及電力人工智能等主題。完成課程並通過考核者,將獲澳大持續進修中心、澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室和澳電聯合簽發的結業證書。

出席活動嘉賓包括澳電發電部總監艾啟立、電力系統調度部總監劉筱駒、輸配電部電網發展總監容聲明、人力資源及可持續發展部總監陸希蕾、客戶服務部/技術服務管理科高級經理陳宇輝,澳大科技學院助理院長戴寧怡、電機及電腦工程系系主任黃民聰等。

澳大及澳電將會繼續不定期舉辦以碳中和為主題的課程,培育淨零轉型所需的專業人才,推動國家綠色轉型。

‘Power System Engineering Training Towards Carbon Neutrality (PSECN) Professional Certificate Training Course’ commenced at UM

To actively contribute to China’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the University of Macau (UM), the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC) at UM, and Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) have jointly organised the ‘Power System Engineering Training Towards Carbon Neutrality (PSECN) Professional Certificate Training Course’. The course aims to equip electrical engineers in Macao with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and operate power systems that promote carbon neutrality. The course recently commenced with an opening ceremony, where Matthew Ting-Chi LIU, director of CCE, and Benjamin YUE, principal advisor to the executive committee of CEM, delivered speeches. Both LIU and YUE expressed hope that the course will contribute to the development of more sustainable power systems in Macao.

The course consists of 12 topics and totals 87 hours. Instructors include professors from the UM Faculty of Science and Technology, registered engineers from Hong Kong, and guest speakers invited by CEM. The curriculum covers the concepts and components of establishing, maintaining, and operating net-zero emission and carbon-neutral systems. It also delves into the effects of net-zero emissions. Participants who successfully complete the course and pass the assessments will receive a certificate jointly issued by CCE, SKL-IOTSC, and CEM.

近500件“中國歷代繪畫大系” 代表作於澳大展出

“盛世修典 ─‘中國歷代繪畫大系’成果展‧澳門特展”今(9)日在澳門大學藝術博物館揭幕,展出近500件“中國歷代繪畫大系”所收錄作品中精挑細選的代表作,吸引一眾澳大師生及社會各界人士到場參觀,感受獨特的藝術魅力。

揭幕儀式由中央人民政府駐澳門特別行政區聯絡辦公室教育與青年工作部副部長李勇先,澳大校董會主席林金城、校長宋永華,浙江大學發展委員會副主席兼國際聯合學院(海寧國際校區)黨委書記何蓮珍,澳門特別行政區文化局局長梁惠敏,澳門特別行政區教育及青年發展局高等教育廳廳長許嘉路,策展人王小松及張彥主禮。

宋永華致辭時表示,適逢今年是中華人民共和國成立75周年,以及澳門特別行政區成立25周年,澳門大學和浙江大學共同舉辦展覽弘揚中國傳統文化、增強文化自信,透過藝術傳遞中華文化的精髓。他又指,澳大作為國際化綜合大學,致力於中西文化的融合,期待通過展覽提升在校師生及澳門市民對傳統文化的認知。

何蓮珍致辭時表示,“中國歷代繪畫大系”是一項由浙江大學和浙江省文物局共同編纂的重大文化工程,於2005年獲習近平主席親自批准。這個工程被列為浙江文化研究工程、國家出版基金項目及國家社科基金重大委託項目,也納入中共中央和國務院的重點規劃,得到了各級黨政部門和文化機構的大力支持。

是次展覽由澳門大學及浙江大學主辦,澳門大學發展基金會、浙江大學出版社支持。“中國歷代繪畫大系”收錄來自263家文博機構的12,405件中國古代繪畫珍品,涵蓋內地藏品9,155件及國外藏品3,250件,幾乎囊括所有傳世的“國寶”級作品,並出版了《先秦漢唐畫全集》、《宋畫全集》等60卷226冊,成為同類出版物中規模最大、收錄最全的中國繪畫圖像文獻。是次展覽展出近500件“中國歷代繪畫大系”代表作,均為中華優秀傳統文化的瑰寶。

展覽位於澳大伍宜孫圖書館(E2)一樓及二樓的澳大藝術博物館,開放時間為上午10時至下午7時,展期至2025年2月9日,公眾假期照常開放(農曆新年初一至初三除外)。展覽免費入場,並提供定點及預約導賞服務。詳情可瀏覽澳大藝術博物館網站https://library.um.edu.mo/museum/zh/

同日,澳大亦舉辦了“大學講壇”,由王小松以“殊途同歸 ─ 黃賓虹與波洛克”為題進行演講。他將目光投射於之前並無甚交集的兩位20世紀大師身上,把東西藝術同時期的巨擘以殊途同歸的姿態走入純然之境,踱步於抽象藝術的“行動之海”。講座吸引一眾嘉賓及師生踴躍參與,反應熱烈。

此外,為配合澳大人文學院藝術與設計系的長遠發展,澳大圖書館於二樓增設“藝術世界"專區,展出藝術類圖書及相關資源,藉此讓師生及大眾增加藝術方面的知識。

Nearly 500 works from ‘A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings’ are on exhibition at UM

An opening ceremony for ‘Compilation of Classics in the Flourishing Age—Special Exhibition in Macao for Compiling “A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings”’ was held today (9 September) at the Museum of Art of the University of Macau (UM). The exhibition, which showcases nearly 500 meticulously curated pieces from ‘A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings’, is organised by UM and Zhejiang University, and supported by the University of Macau Development Foundation and Zhejiang University Press. ‘A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings’
is a project that has gathered over 12,000 pieces of Chinese paintings from 263 museums and other cultural institutions at home and abroad, representing a significant portion of China’s national treasures throughout history.

During his speech at the event, UM Rector Yonghua Song expressed his hope that the exhibition will promote traditional Chinese culture, enhance cultural confidence, and convey the essence of Chinese culture through art. The exhibition will run until 9 February 2025 at the UM Museum of Art, which is located on the first and second floors of the UM Library (E2). It is open from 10:00am to 7:00pm daily, including public holidays (except the first three days of the Chinese New Year). Admission to the exhibition is free. Following the exhibition opening ceremony, Wang Xiaosong, curator of the exhibition, gave a talk titled ‘Different Paths, Converging Visions: Huang Binhong and Jackson Pollock’ as part of the University Lecture Series. The talk was well attended by guests, as well as UM faculty and students.

In addition, to support the long-term development of the Department of Arts and Design of the UM Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the UM Library has established a ‘Art Books Corner’ area on its second floor. This section displays a collection of art books and related resources, aiming to enhance the knowledge of art among faculty, students, and the public.

澳大辦2024年國際交流晚會

澳門大學全球事務部舉辦“2024年國際交流晚會”,吸引來自46個國家和地區共220多名學生參加,與老師一同分享留學資訊、赴外交流的經驗和建議,並帶來精彩的文化表演。

澳大副校長馬許願致辭時表示,澳大一直致力提升校園的國際化水平,今年繼續大力推動國際交流計劃和活動,期望更多澳大學生通過赴外學習交流,豐富大學生涯。他亦期望國際學生和交換生能善用在澳大學習的機會,充分體驗澳大的國際化氛圍和澳門的獨特文化,並向親友和同學分享澳大的學習經歷以及澳門的別樣見聞。

參與晚會的學生來自安哥拉、澳洲、奧地利、比利時、巴西、丹麥、法國、德國、意大利、日本、韓國、莫桑比克、葡萄牙、俄羅斯、新加坡、瑞典、美國等地。活動期間,中國內地、緬甸、西班牙和加納的留學生和交換生帶來了傳統舞蹈、特色民族音樂、傳統歌曲和傳統樂器演奏的精彩演出。各國學生亦穿著傳統民族服飾出席晚會,並評選出最佳服裝獎。東西方的文化在活動中碰撞交融,拉近了各國學生之間的距離,氣氛十分熱烈。

澳大致力提升國際化水平,積極與海內外知名院校建立夥伴關係及擴大合作網絡,透過學期交流計劃、夏令/冬令交流計劃、伊拉斯謨計劃、萬人計劃等項目鼓勵學生到世界各地交流及考察,培育他們的國際視野。目前,澳大與全球36個國家和地區超過180所知名校院建立了學生交流合作夥伴關係。

UM organises International Night 2024

The Global Affairs Office of the University of Macau (UM) organised ‘International Night 2024’, which attracted the participation of more than 220 students from 46 countries and regions, including Angola, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mozambique, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, and the US. During his speech at the event, UM Vice Rector Rui Martins said that the university will continue to promote international exchange programmes and activities this year. He expressed hope that both international and exchange students at UM will utilise the learning opportunities at the university, immerse themselves in the international atmosphere of the campus, and experience Macao’s unique culture. The event featured cultural performances by students. Faculty and students also shared their experiences and advice on overseas exchanges.

展覽由澳門大學及浙江大學主辦,澳門大學發展基金會、浙江大學出版社支持。展覽將展出近500件中國歷代繪畫作品,它們都是中華優秀傳統文化的瑰寶,是中華民族文化自信的重要體現。“中國歷代繪畫大系”由浙江大學和浙江省文物局共同編纂出版,收錄了大量的傳世國寶級佳作,是對中國歷代繪畫的總結和梳理。

‘A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings’ Special Exhibition in Macao will open at UM next Monday

‘Compilation of Classics in the Flourishing Age—Special Exhibition in Macao for Compiling “A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings”’ will open on 9 September (Monday) at 3:00pm at the Museum of Art of the University of Macau (UM). The exhibition is organised by UM and Zhejiang University, and supported by the University of Macau Development Foundation and Zhejiang University Press. Featuring nearly 500 meticulously curated ancient Chinese paintings, the exhibition showcases invaluable treasures of traditional Chinese culture and is a representation of the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation. The exhibition will run until 9 February 2025 at the UM Museum of Art, which is located on the first and second floors of the UM Library (E2). It is open from 10:00am to 7:00pm daily, including public holidays (except the first three days of the Chinese New Year). Admission to the exhibition is free. Also on 9 September, Wang Xiaosong, curator of the exhibition, associate dean of the School of Art and Archaeology at Zhejiang University, and director of the Institute of Contemporary Art and Design at Zhejiang University, will give a talk titled ‘Different Paths, Converging Visions: Huang Binhong and Jackson Pollock’ as part of the University Lecture Series. 澳大學生於微電影創作比賽獲金獎

澳門大學社會科學學院傳播系學生伍珈毅在“法現微電影——澳門大專學生微電影創作比賽”中獲得金奬及最佳編劇奬。該作品展現了澳門與橫琴之間融合發展的生活圈,紀錄了“一國兩制”的新生命力。

伍珈毅的作品——《有您有我也有牠》在比賽中獲金奬及最佳編劇奬。他表示,在中央人民政府和澳門特別行政區的大力支持下,澳門和橫琴共同發展、文化融合,其中橫琴“澳門新街坊”項目成為一顆耀眼新星,橫琴澳門青年創業谷為兩地青年的未來發展提供機遇,橫琴的自然景觀和美食文化等亦同樣吸引,整部微電影展現了琴澳的美好未來,期望讓觀眾感受到橫琴的魅力。

是次比賽由澳門特別行政區政府教育及青年發展局主辦,澳門基本法青年推廣大使協會承辦,澳大法學院憲法與基本法研究中心及澳門理工大學“一國兩制”研究中心支持。比賽吸引了來自澳門及內地高校的學生參賽,共有22個報名單位。參賽作品圍繞“澳門特區維護國家安全的憲制責任”、“融入國家發展大局”、“國慶七十五周年與澳門回歸祖國二十五周年的體驗”、“我在琴澳生活記趣”、“澳門基本法是澳門繁榮穩定的‘守護神’”、“國家安全是澳門社會穩定和居民安樂的前提和基礎”六個主題,展現了《憲法》與《澳門基本法》的重要性及其與青年生活的關聯。

UM student wins gold award in short film competition

A short film created by Ng Ka Ngai, student in the Department of Communication of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Macau (UM), won the gold award and the best screenplay award at the ‘Introduction to Law—Microfilm Creation Competition for Macao College Students’. Titled Become a family, Ng’s film showcased the integrated development of Macao and Hengqin, as well as the new vitality of the ‘one country, two systems’ policy.

According to Ng, the strong support of the central and the Macao SAR governments has facilitated the coordinated development of Macao and Hengqin, as well as the cultural integration between the two places. For example, the Macau New Neighbourhood project in Hengqin represents a significant development. The Hengqin-Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Valley also offers great development opportunities for young people in the two places. Hengqin’s natural landscape and culinary culture also add to its appeal. Ng’s film shows the bright future of Macao and Hengqin, aiming to captivate audiences with the charm of Hengqin.

The competition was organised by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, presented by the Macao Basic Law Youth Promotion Ambassador Association, and supported by the Centre for Constitutional Law and Basic Law Studies in the UM Faculty of Law and the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ Research Centre of Macao Polytechnic University. It attracted the participation of students from 22 universities in Macao and mainland China. The film entries focused on six themes: the constitutional responsibility of the Macao SAR to safeguard national security, integration into the overall development of the country, reflections on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the country and the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland, my life in Macao and Hengqin, Macao Basic Law as the guardian of Macao’s prosperity and stability, and national security as the prerequisite and foundation for Macao’s social stability and the well-being of its residents, which highlighted the significance of the Constitution and the Basic Law of Macao and their impact on the lives of young people.

澳大辦首屆中銀盃極創客創業大賽

澳門大學創新創業中心舉辦首屆“2024澳門大學中銀盃極創客創業大賽”,吸引近50支隊伍參與,涵蓋醫療設備、生物科技、新材料、金融科技等多個領域。在總決賽,評審團選出6支得獎團隊,總獎金規模逾11萬澳門元。得獎名單將在今年11月8日的“澳大極創客2024 — 第三屆澳門大學創新創業展”公佈。

賽事的50支參賽團隊從報名至總決賽歷時4個月,期間需參與一系列活動,包括:極創營培訓、創業普法講座、科創經歷分享、創業導師一對一指導、深圳大學的雙創領航精英訓練營、電梯演講、商業計劃演示等。評審團先選出12支團隊晉級總決賽,並從中揀選6支得獎隊伍。這些得獎團隊的項目在創新性、市場前景和可行性等方面表現卓越,充分展現了青年在創新創業生態的多元發展。

評審團成員包括:澳門中銀副總經理蘇文健、澳門青創國際集團總裁金維剛、凱利集成(廣東)資本管理有限公司總裁孫戈亮、中科美城創始人及董事長李永洲、珠海市迪奇孚瑞生物科技有限公司創始人陳天藍、澳門博士翻譯有限公司董事總經理高明和澳門法律交流協進會副理事長李金獅。

此外,為營造互相交流分享的創新創業氛圍,澳大創新創業中心還舉辦了慶祝晚宴,並邀請澳大工商管理博士生林子洪ヽ陳成義及周家瑜分享職涯經歷。出席晚宴的嘉賓包括澳門中銀副總經理蘇文健、普惠金融部副總經理陳仲強、澳大支行行長張名威,澳大副校長徐建、校友及發展辦公室主任林鈺儀等。

UM organises the first Bank of China Trophy UltiMater Entrepreneur Competition 

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of the University of Macau (UM) organised the first ‘University of Macau & Bank of China Trophy UltiMater Entrepreneur Competition’. With a total prize pool of over MOP 110,000, the event attracted the participation of nearly 50 teams, spanning various sectors including medical equipment, biotechnology, new materials, and fintech. In the final assessment round, 6 winning teams were selected. These teams will be announced at ‘The UltiMater 2024 – The 3rd UM Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition’ on 8 November.

The competition lasted four months, from the registration day to the final assessment round. Participating teams were required to take part in a series of activities, including a workshop on refining business plans and roadshow skills, a lecture on legal matters related to entrepreneurship, experience sharing sessions, one-on-one mentorship by entrepreneurship coaches, and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Pilot Elite Program Training Camp at Shenzhen University. The teams also underwent assessments of their elevator pitches and business plan presentations. The judging panel first selected 12 teams to advance to the final assessment round, from which 6 winning teams were ultimately chosen. The projects of the winning teams demonstrated exceptional innovation, market potential, and feasibility, highlighting the diverse development of young people in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The judging panel consisted of the following members: Sou Man Kin, deputy general manager at the Bank of China (Macau) Limited (BOC Macau); Jin Weigang, president of Macao Juvenile Venture International Group Limited; Avi Sun, president of China Success (Guangdong) Capital Management Limited; Li Yongzhou, founder and chairman of Zhongke Meicheng; Chen Tianlan, founder of Digifluidic; Bill Gao, managing director of Macau Boss Translation Limited; and Filipe Lei, vice chairman of the Macao Legal Exchange and Promotion Association.

In addition, to foster a spirit of sharing and collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship, CIE organised a celebratory dinner, where UM Business Administration doctoral students Lin Zihong, Chen Chengyi, and Zhou Jiayu were invited to share their career experiences. Other guests included Sou Man Kin, deputy general manager at BOC Macau; Chan Chong Keong, deputy general manager of the Inclusive Finance Department of BOC Macau; Cheong Meng Wai, general manager of the University of Macau Sub-branch of BOC Macau; Xu Jian, vice rector of UM; and Cindy Lam, director of the Alumni and Development Office.

The award ceremony will take place at ‘The UltiMater 2024 – The 3rd UM Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition’ on 8 November. During the event, the projects of the top 12 teams will be showcased, and the 6 winning teams will be announced.

CO Tips (8): How to write a press release and select photos?

1. How to write a press release?
1) Press releases can be written in either Chinese or English, and it is recommended to provide both Chinese and English versions;
2) The headline should be concise and easy to understand, highlighting the key information of the news and its relevance to UM;
3) The first paragraph is the lead, which should be concise and cover the key information of the news;
4) The body should be written using the inverted pyramid style, with important information written first, followed by less important information.

Example: Event (ceremony)

Paragraph Contents Points to note
1st (lead) – What are the full names of the event and organisers?
– How many people attended the event?
– Did UM win any awards or make any achievements?
– Avoid flowery language
– Check the English and Chinese full names of the event and organisers
2nd – Who officiated at the ceremony?
– Excerpts of speeches made by key figures of UM
– Important information about the event
– Check the Chinese and English names and titles of the individuals involved
– Excerpts of speeches should contain information relevant to UM or the event

2. How to select photos?
1) Select photos that are clear, relevant, and eye-catching;
2) Select photos that capture the essence and highlights of the news and event;
3) Avoid using low-resolution photos (preferably 1MB or larger).

澳大與清華國旗儀仗隊交流

清華大學學生國旗儀仗隊到訪澳門大學,與澳大國旗儀仗隊進行升旗儀式展示。是次活動是繼2022年澳大國旗儀仗隊前往清華大學交流後,兩校隊員的進一步交流互動。

升旗儀式展示吸引眾多師生觀禮。清華大學學生國旗儀仗隊隊員出發到達觀禮地點,其後,澳大國旗儀仗隊隊員亦以整齊的步伐,護衛著國旗、區旗和校旗,緩緩向升旗台邁進。隨著國歌響起,升旗儀式展示開始,台下觀眾莊嚴肅立,向三面旗幟報以注目禮。有學生表示,觀看升旗儀式展示讓他感受到全體國民的團結一致,當大家共同注視著五星紅旗緩緩升起時,內心不由自主地升起了強烈的愛國之情,因為這面鮮豔的旗幟代表著國家,令人自豪和敬畏。

兩隊隊員亦進行了交流座談,由澳大學生事務長彭執中與清華黨委武裝部余中淇主持。澳大國旗儀仗隊第六屆隊員寧一聰和蔡嘉昱、清華學生國旗儀仗隊隊員周泓羽分別介紹隊內的組成架構、基本情況以及發展前景。兩隊成員均表示,是次活動的經歷將成為兩隊成員珍貴的回憶,並激勵著他們在未來的學習和生活中,繼續傳承和弘揚愛國主義精神,他們亦會保持聯繫,並尋找更多合作與交流的機會。隨後兩隊隊員還交換了各自旗隊的隊徽及臂章作留念。

澳大國旗儀仗隊隊員何崢橋表示,活動特意準備了自由交流環節,兩隊隊員一同分享了各自的訓練心得以及一些隊內的趣事,加深了彼此的友誼,也為兩地青年之間的交流開闢了新的管道。清華學生國旗儀仗隊隊員方嘉永表示,澳大國旗儀仗隊作為近年新組建的隊伍,展現出創新能力與銳意進取的鬥志,期望兩校有更多機會進行深入交流,共同守護彼此熱愛的國旗。

UM National Flag Team engages in exchange with Tsinghua University counterpart

The national flag team of Tsinghua University visited the University of Macau (UM) and participated in a flag-raising ceremony demonstration performed by the UM National Flag Team. The event allowed members of the national flag teams from both universities to engage in further exchanges following the UM National Flag Team’s visit to Tsinghua University in 2022. After the demonstration, the two national flag teams held a discussion session, where members from both universities introduced their team structures, operations, and future development prospects.
