CCE organises a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for students from Anhui Agricultural University, Wuhan Institute of Technology, and Ningxia University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organises a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for students from universities in mainland during Jul 24 to 28. Total 40 students are from Anhui Agricultural University, Wuhan Institute of Technology, and Ningxia University.

The five-day training course is rich in content, and the whole course is taught in English by UM professors. The topics include Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development, Artificial Intelligence and Smart City, Fintech & Block chain, and Crowd Intelligence & Systems Support for Artificial Intelligence. The students hope to come and study at UM again in future.

CCE continues to offer training programmes and promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in mainland.

CCE holds Interdisciplinary training for students of Zhejiang University of Technology and Huzhou University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) held an Interdisciplinary training course for 37 students of Zhejiang University of Technology and Huzhou University from July 18 to 19. The topic is: “Training course on Leadership and Cross-cultural Communication”.

The two-day training course included seminars and site visiting, they are “Leadership and Strategic Management” and “Critical Thinking and Decision Making for Leaders”, which are taught by senior professors from UM. Moreover, the students visited UM Wu Yee Sun Library and UM Gallery. We got positive feedback from the students, some said that the trip had benefited a lot and left a deep and beautiful impression on UM.

Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT) was established in 1953 and is a comprehensive research-intensive university co-supported by Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education of China. It is within top 100 rankings among 2,900+ universities nationwide.

Huzhou University is located in North Zhejiang Province’s Huzhou City, where President Xi Jinping’s philosophy that “lush mountains and lucid waters are invaluable assets” was originated. The university has been entitled as National Award for Aiding the Disabled, National Language Promotion Base, China’s Fine Traditional  Culture (Silkworm) Heritage Base approved by Ministry of Education, Model University of Application Construction of Zhejiang Province, National Innovation Alliance of Yangtze River Delta Forestry for Common Prosperity, etc. It is among the first batch of pilot universities to implement the national education training programs called “Excellent Doctors” and “Excellent Talents of Agriculture and Forestry”.

CCE holds Internship trainings for students of Guangzhou University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) held two Internship training courses for students of Guangzhou University from July 10 to 14. The topics are: “Internship Programme – Comprehensive Training for Cyberspace Security” and “Internship Programme – Comprehensive Training for Smart Energy and Resource Planning”, a total of 76 students participated in the classes.

The two training courses held this time were originally scheduled to visit last summer recess, but due to the impact of the epidemic, they were postponed to this summer recess. The course contents are rich and compact. Students learn more about Macao development through lectures by experts, visits, and exchanges. The five-day training courses are taught by senior professors from UM. Moreover, the students visited different units of UM, including the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, The Super Intelligent Computing Center, UM Wu Yee Sun Library, UM Gallery, and a residential college. Outside UM, the students visited CTM, The Communications Museum, the Ecological Zones of Cotai and CEM Coloane Power Station according to different themes. At the graduation ceremony, the representative of the students said that the trip had benefited a lot and left a deep and beautiful impression on Macao.

Since the beginning of 2021, Guangzhou University has been steadily sending its students to UM for shrot-term training every year. CCE continues to offer training programmes and promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area.

CCE holds Interdisciplinary training for students of Sichuan University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) held an Interdisciplinary training course for 23 students of Sichuan University from July 10 to 14. The topic is: “Interdisciplinary programme – New Media, Technological Innovation, Art and Data Mining”.

The five-day training course is taught by senior professors from UM. Moreover, the students visited different units of UM, including Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, UM Wu Yee Sun Library, UM Gallery, and a residential college. At the graduation ceremony, the representative of the students said that the trip had benefited a lot and left a deep and beautiful impression on Macao.

Sichuan University (SCU) is one of China’s top universities, attached to the Ministry of Education. Sichuan University is an institution that comprises three former national universities: the former Sichuan University, the former Chengdu University of Science and Technology, and the former West China University of Medical Sciences.

CCE is promoting high-quality exchanges and cooperation that are consistent with the development direction of UM, and to strengthen communication and connections between young people in the Mainland and Macao.

CCE and BRTC co-organise a training course for students from Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai and Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and the Business Research and Training Centre of UM’s Faculty of Business Administration (BRTC) jointly held a training course on Business Humanities and Leadership during July 10th to 13th. A total of 38 students from Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai and Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai participated.

The 4-day training course are taught by UM professors, topics including “Global Business Leadership”, “Business Communication Skills for Leaders”, and “Critical Thinking and Decision-Making for Leaders”. During the student group final presentation, students said that they benefited a lot from this training, and hope to come to UM again for study in the future.

Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai (BNU Zhuhai), is established by Guangdong Provincial Government, Zhuhai Municipal Government and Beijing Normal University with approval of the Ministry of Education of China in April 2019. And BNUZ is jointly established by BNU and Zhuhai Municipal Government under the approval of the Ministry of Education of China. It is a tertiary institution providing full-time study for students, focusing on undergraduate education.

To strengthen cooperation between UM and universities in the Bay Area, CCE and BRTC are continuing to provide training programs for college students in the future.

CCE organises Training Course on Artificial Intelligence for students of Nantong University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised training course “Training on Artificial Intelligence” (2 classes) for 65 students from Nantong University during Jul 4 to 8. We received positive feedback from students.

The five-day training course consisted of a series of lectures, taught in English by UM professors. The course contents are covering the introduction to: AI and Big Data, AI and machine learning, AI Internet of Things (IoTs) and smart energy, AI in Manufacturing and Automatic Control, AI and smart city, Fintech & Blockchain. The course gave the students a good understanding of the development of artificial intelligence in Macao. Moreover, students joined campus tour guided by PR Student Ambassadors and also visited the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC). The students expressed that they gained a lot from the training course.

Since the beginning of 2021, Nantong University has been steadily sending its students to UM for training every year. Both parties will strengthen cooperation on talent exchanges in future.

CCE organizes summer training course for students of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised summer training course “Training on Communication and Information Engineering” for 38 students from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications during Jul 3 to 7. We received positive feedback from students.

The course has been held three times. The first two times were affected by the epidemic and the whole process was conducted online by ZOOM. This time the training students can finally interact with the instructors face-to-face in the UM campus. The five-day online training course consisted of a series of lectures, taught in English by UM trainers. The course contents are covering the introduction to: Big Data and AI, Computer Science & Database Systems, Microelectronics for Telecommunication and Signal Processing, 5G and Communication Technology, Applied Electronics and Automation, Fintech & Blockchain, Data Science Programming. In addition, the students visited the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (SKL-AMSV). The students expressed that they have gained a lot of new knowledge and are deeply impressed by Macao and UM. They hope to continue their studies at UM in the future.

CCE holds training courses for postgraduate students of Guangzhou University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) held two training courses for postgraduate students of Guangzhou University from June 26 to 30. The topics are: “Internship Programme – Comprehensive Training for Water Resources Planning” (2 classes) and “Interdisciplinary programme – New Media, Psychology, AI and Big Data”(one class) , a total of 97 students participated in the three classes.

The five-day training courses are taught by senior professors from UM. In addition to the lectures, the students also visited Maritime Museum, The Macao Water Supply Company Limited, MGM Cotai and Children Comprehensive Evaluation Centre according to different themes.  At the graduation ceremony, the representatives of the students said that the trip has benefited a lot and left a deep and beautiful impression on Macao.

CCE sends instructor to Shunde Polytechnic to hold Intermediate Portuguese Training Course for students

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) held a training course “Certificate in Intensive Portuguese of Intermediate Level” for 31 students of 2022 Cross-border E-commerce of Shunde Polytechnic from 21 Apr to 25 Jun 2023.

The intermediate course is to expand the basic knowledge that students have learned in the elementary course, so that students can integrate the knowledge they have learned into daily communication in Portuguese.

Representatives from the two schools attended the closing ceremony on 25 June. All guests expressed gratitude and expectation to expand the cooperation field.

Since year 2022, CCE has successfully launched 3 intakes of Portuguese training courses for 109 students majoring in Cross-border E-commerce in Shunde Polytechnic. This time, after the epidemic has eased, the instructor went to areas other than Macau to teach on-the-spot, which is of great significance for exploring and enriching the educational cooperation model in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

CCE and BRTC co-organise a training course for students of Wuhan University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and the Business Research and Training Centre of UM’s Faculty of Business Administration (BRTC) jointly held a training course on Business Communication and Leadership for 58 students of Wuhan University during May 2nd to 4th.

The 3-day training course is rich in content, covering the introduction of Macao’s economy, Macao’s innovation and entrepreneurship development, critical thinking, leadership and strategic management, crisis management, and event organization. In addition, the students visited CIE, IOTSC, the UM Wu Yee Sun Library, the UM Gallery and college. During the session on student interaction, a delegation of the University of Macau Students’ Union (UMSU) and members of UM English Debating Team (EDT) shared their university life and future career plans.  We received good feedback from students.

Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive and key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the “211 Project” and “985 Project”universities with full support in the construction and development from the central and local government of China. In the 2023 QS World University Rankings, Wuhan University ranks 8th in Mainland China and 194th in the world. In the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, it ranks ninth in Mainland China and 173rd in the world.
