CCE organises several training courses for students of Guangzhou University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) successfully completed 4 training courses for 135 students of Guangzhou University from 29^th Apr to 3^rd May. The courses are: “Training course on Civil Engineering”, “Training course on Psychology and Big Health”, “Training course on English Ability Improvement” and “Interdisciplinary programme – New Media, Technological Innovation, Art and Data Analysis”.

The five-day training courses are rich in content and cover a wide range of topics. The courses are taught by senior professors from UM and industry professionals. In addition to the lectures, the students also went out for visiting. At the closing ceremony, the student representatives said that they benefited a lot from this trip. They felt the friendliness of the local people and would like to come to UM to study again in the future.

Guangzhou University is a comprehensive university named after the third largest city in China – Guangzhou. It is a high-level university developed under the support of both the Guangdong province and Guangzhou city. The university was forged through the merger of five institutions of higher education in 2000 and can trace its history to over 90 years.

Since the beginning of 2021, Guangzhou University has been steadily sending its students to UM for training every year. CCE continues to offer training programmes and promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area.

CCE and BRTC co-organise a training course for students of Tongren University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and the Business Research and Training Centre of UM’s Faculty of Business Administration (BRTC) jointly held a training course on Business Communication and Leadership for 38 students of Tongren University during Feb 16^th to 24^th.

The whole course was delivered by professors and senior instructors in blended teaching mode. The topics are including: leadership training, strategic management, communication skills, public speaking skills, and crisis management. It aims to cultivate students’ expression skills, problem-solving skills and teamwork skills in business environment. We received good feedback from students.

Tongren University is one of the universities under the National “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” Industry-Education Integrated Development Project, a university that won the “Excellent School Award” of the Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award, a university under the Ministry of Education’s Scientific Work Ability Improvement Plan, and the first batch of application-oriented transformation development in Guizhou Province.

To strengthen cooperation between mainland universities and UM, CCE and BRTC are continuing to provide training programs for college students in the future.

CCE organises a training course on Medical Science and Medicine for students of Guilin Medical University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organises a training course on Medical Science and Medicine for 58 students of Guilin Medical University during Feb 14^th to 18^th.

The five-day training course is rich in content, and the whole course is taught in English by UM professors. The topics include clinical research and prevention of Parkinson’s disease and aging, comparison and difference of clinical medicine between Chinese and Western medicine, stem cell transplantation, immune regulation mechanism and tumor immunotherapy. We received positive feedback from students.

Guilin Medical University is a general institution of higher learning directly under the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is one of the first batch of pilot universities for the “Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program” project of the Ministry of Education and an excellent university for the evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education. It is known as “the medical pearl that shines in BAGUI”.

CCE continues to carry out high-quality training courses to strengthen educational cooperation between UM and universities in mainland.

CCE organises a training course on Business and Management for students mainly from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Guangdong Ocean University, and Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organises a training course on Business and Management for students from universities in Mainland during Jan 30th to Feb 3rd. Total 49 students are mainly from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Guangdong Ocean University, and Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology.

The five-day training course is rich in content, and the whole course is taught in English by UM professors and senior instructors. The topics include Marketing and Brand Strategy, Advertising and promotion in the digital age, How Innovation Drives Economics Growth, and Modern Enterprise Finance and Management Accounting. We received positive feedback from students.

CCE organises a training course on Business Communication and Leadership for students mainly from Guangdong Ocean University, Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology, and Nantong University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organises a training course on Business Communication and Leadership for students from universities in Mainland during Jan 30th to Feb 3rd. Total 39 students are mainly from Guangdong Ocean University, Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology, and Nantong University.

The five-day training course is rich in content, and the whole course is taught in English by UM professors. The topics include Global Strategy and leadership, Business Communication Skills for Leaders, Crisis Management for Leaders, and Applied linguistics development and globalization. We received positive feedback from students.

CCE organises a training course on Medical Science and Medicine for students of Nanchang University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organises a training course on Medical Science and Medicine for 69 students of Nanchang University during Jan 30th to Feb 3rd.  The students experienced the high-quality English teaching by UM professors and attended on-campus and off-campus visits. We received positive feedback from students.

The five-day training course is rich and compact in content, and the course includes clinical research and prevention of Parkinson’s disease and aging, comparison and difference of clinical medicine between Chinese and Western medicine, stem cell transplantation, immune regulation mechanism and tumor immunotherapy. During the on-campus visit, students visited different units of UM, including ICMS, FHS, UM Gallery, Library and RC. During the off-campus visits, the students visited the Kiang Wu Hospital and new campus of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau in Coloane. The students have a good understanding of the medical environment and nursing development in Macau.

Nanchang University (NCU) is a comprehensive university listed among the “the World First-class Disciplines” in the national “Double First-Class” Initiative of China, the only “211 Project” national key university in Jiangxi Province which is co-constructed by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Province, and the overall construction university of Jiangxi Province high-level universities construction project. Since 2020, Nanchang University has steadily sent its students to UM for training every year. The two parties are continuing to promote educational cooperation and talent exchanges between the two places.

CCE organises a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for students mainly from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Wuhan Institute of Technology

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organises a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data: Technology and Innovation for students from universities in Mainland during Jan 30th to Feb 3rd. Total 47 students are mainly from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Wuhan Institute of Technology.

The five-day training course is rich in content, and the whole course is taught in English by UM professors and senior instructors. The topics include Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development, Fundamental of Artificial Intelligence: Computer Science & Database Systems, Crowd Intelligence & Systems Support for Artificial Intelligence, and Fintech & Block chain. We received positive feedback from students.

CCE collaborated with UNU-IIST to organize 2nd intake of training course on International Leaders in the Global Digital Era for students from Universities in Mainland

 The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) recently collaborated with United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST, aka United Nations University Institute in Macau) to organize a training course for undergraduate students from Universities in China during Jan 31st to Feb 3rd.  The training course is held on the UM campus in cooperation with the United Nations University Institute in Macau. And all modules are taught by professors and scholars from both sides.

20 students are from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Guangdong Ocean University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology, Fuzhou University, Chengdu University, Zhengzhou University, Anhui University of Science and Technology, University of London and Sanda University. The 5-day training is rich in content, covering big data innovation, China’s political and economic overview, regional economic and technological development, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Digital Technology and Sustainable Development, and Youth Leaders in digital life.

UNU-IIST is a formal unit under United Nations University (UNU) which is part of the UN family of organisations. UNU-IIST is a UN global think tank on Information Communication Technologies for Development.

CCE and UNU-IIST will strengthen cooperation and jointly cultivate talents suitable for the development of the new era.

CCE organises a training course on English Upgrade for students of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organises a training course on English Upgrade for a total of 24 students from Faculty of English Language and Culture of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies during Jan 2nd to 6th.

The five-day training course was rich and compact. In addition to the class, UM English debate team were also invited to communicate with the students, sharing the rules of the English debate competition and something fun in the past competition. Then both parties had a debate friendly match. In the part of off-campus visits, students visited Activities Centre of “Bairro do Hipodromo” under Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau. The trainees visited the latest facilities of the center after the optimization project was completed in 2021. Afterwards, the students also went to Macao Science Center to watch 3D dome program of the planetarium and a number of themed exhibitions. We got positive feedback from the students.

Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) is a key university for the construction of high-level universities in Guangdong Province, and one of the universities with distinctive international characteristics in South China.  Faculty of English Language and Culture is one of the departments with the longest history and the deepest academic background in GDUFS.

CCE continues to offer training programs and promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area.

CCE organises several training courses for students of Nantong University

 The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) successfully completed 3 training courses for 57 students of Nantong University from Jan 2nd to 5th. The themes are: “Medical Science and Medicine”, “Business and Management” and “Artificial Intelligence and Big Data”.

A series of thematic courses, taught by UM trainers, have enabled students to have a considerable understanding of the rapid development of Medical Science, Business Management and AI in Macao. We received good feedback from students and they hope to study in UM again.

Nantong University was founded in 1912. It originated from the private Nantong Medical Specialized School and Nantong Textile Specialized School founded by Zhang Jian, a famous modern industrialist and educator. In 2004, the former Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Normal College merged to form a new Nantong University.

Since the beginning of 2021, Nantong University has been steadily sending its students to UM for training every year. Both parties will strengthen cooperation on talent exchanges in future.
