New user daily digest and manage page for UM@Connect

Dear Students,

As the service providers of UM@Connect email service, Microsoft has introduced new email protection features. Starting from 16 April 2024, you will receive a daily digest from Microsoft 365 Security.

Here is what you need to know:

Review Quarantined Emails:

Former UM@Connect Secure Email Gateway:

  • Emails previously quarantined by the former UM@Connect Secure Email Gateway will not appear in the new daily digest or on the new manage page.
  • The quarantined email in former UM@Connect Secure Email Gateway will only keep for 30 days after the email quarantined. 
  • To review those emails, visit the former quarantine management page.
  • The above former portal will only be accessible until 16 May 2024.

Safe and Blocked Senders:

  • You can now directly manage safe or blocked sender list in UM@Connect M365 mailbox.
  • If you had configured any safe or blocked senders in the former UM@Connect Secure Email Gateway, it is recommended to update them directly in your UM@Connect M365 mailbox as soon as possible.

Adjust M365 UM@Connect and OneDrive Usage Quota

Microsoft has announced that it will change its charging policy for M365 services for higher education institutions worldwide, and will charge based on our data storage capacity of M365 online service.

ICTO has reassessed the usage of these services and has decided to change the personal storage quota for UM@Connect and OneDrive. We will maintain continuous oversight of any adjustments made by the service provider to its billing methods, and will make suitable changes to the University’s usage of M365-related services, to ensure that the university can continue to provide cloud information services with reasonable resources.

 

Starting from December 1, 2023, the storage quotas for Microsoft Office 365 users at the University of Macau have been adjusted as follows:

M365 Service Target User New Personal Quota
UM@Connect Lifelong Email Service Student, Alumni 10 GB
OneDrive Cloud Storage Staff, Student 10 GB
 

 

As mentioned above, if your storage for Microsoft Office 365 services exceeds or is close to the new storage space limit, you will receive an email notification from Microsoft.

為本校供提供雲端資訊服務的微軟(Microsoft)，宣佈將會改變全球高等教育機構雲端服務收費政策，並將會按本校在其雲端服務 Microsoft 365(M365)中所儲存的資料容量來收費。

資訊及通訊科技部 (ICTO) 經過審視相關服務的使用情況，決定更改 UM@Connect 及 OneDrive 的個人儲存限額，並將持續地監察服務供應商對收費方式的調整，適時調整大學使用M365相關服務的方式，以確保大學能以合理的資源繼續提供雲端資訊服務。

 

由2023年12月1日起，對於澳門大學M365服務的儲存空間配額調整如下：

M365服務 使用對象 新個人儲存限額
UM@Connect終身電郵服務 學生、校友 10 GB
OneDrive網路硬碟 教職員、學生 10 GB
 

如上所述，如果您的Microsoft 365服務的儲存量超過或接近新的儲存空間上限，您將收到Microsoft 的電子郵件通知。
