The University can only ensure accommodation for new postgraduate students of PhD and Master’s Degree Programmes (excluding other Doctoral Degree Programmes and EMBA Programme) who are in their first year of study and do not have a residence in Macao, the accommodation guaranteed period extends from the semester of initial registration to the end of the immediately following semester. Postgraduate students in the aforementioned degree programmes who exceed the accommodation guaranteed period or enter to the second year or beyond of their degree programme will unlikely be offered an accommodation. Students who were not offered a bedspace are required to arrange off-campus accommodation by themselves. Payment period of the PGH residence fee for the 1st semester of AY2024/2025

2. New PG students who submit the application on or after 1 July 2024: A debit note will be issued to student’s ISW account around 1 month after move-in procedure is completed. The payment period shall be subject to the e-debit note.
C. Notes for applicants:
1. Applicants should follow the instructions stated in the email and submit the application within the specified application period.
2. Late applications will NOT be accepted. SRS will not entertain even if students are willing to accept penalties. Any decision made by SRS shall be final.
3. According to Article 39 of the Personnel Statue of UM and Article 18 of Chapter 7 of Regulations of the Personnel Affairs of the UM about the attribution of housing subsidy, UM staff is not eligible to receive the housing subsidy when he/she successfully applied for the housing provided by UM or any public entities, including the Student Dormitory (i.e. Postgraduate House).
4. Room assignment is arranged by SRS. For any room with vacant bedspaces, SRS reserves all rights to assign other students to them at any moment.
5. Year-one postgraduate students can only apply for Shared Room. SRS will assign rooms, floors and roommates randomly to successful applicants.

C. Important Points to Note:
I. Late applications will NOT be accepted.
II. Due to insufficient bedspace in PGH, according to the “PGH Resident Rules” and the “Guidelines for Assessing the Applications for UM PGH Accommodation”, the University can only ensure accommodation for new postgraduate students of PhD and Master’s Degree Programmes (excluding other Doctoral Degree Programmes and EMBA Programme) who are in their first year of study and do not have a residence in Macao, the accommodation guaranteed period extends from the semester of initial registration to the end of the immediately following semester. IV. Arrangement of various room types for applicants who have been approved for accommodation for the 1st semester of AY2024/2025:
IV.1 Suite:
a) For current PGH residents who are staying in the suite and would like to continue to stay in the same room type onward, they have to apply for suite again in this application. Rooms are not guaranteed and are subject to the final approval.
b) Married couples are eligible for suites only if both individuals are registered UM postgraduate students.
c) The allocation priority of suite will be given to the successful applicants who are existing suite residents. The remaining suite(s) will be allocated to other successful applicants. When the number of available rooms is insufficient, it will be decided by a draw.
d) In case of the situation below, the other party of the marriage who gets approval for the application for PGH accommodation will be allocated to the bedspace in PGH buildings according to the gender.
– Either of the parties to the marriage who have reached the maximum study period / received an eviction order / whose status have been changed to non-active, such as “graduated”, “withdrawal”, “deferred” and “inactive”, etc,
– Either of the parties to the marriage do not submit the application for PGH accommodation;
– Either of the parties to the marriage do not get approval for the application for PGH accommodation;
– Either of the parties to the marriage complete the move-out procedure.
e) SRS will assign the suite(s) randomly to successful applicants and no further adjustment would be allowed for room allocation.
IV.2 Single room:
a) For current PGH residents who are staying in a single room, the stay period will end on 31 May 2024. All single rooms (including medical reasons) will be allocated all over again. Single-room applicants (including current single-room residents) will be allocated according to the room type arrangements stated in this announcement. Rooms are not guaranteed and are subject to the final approval.
b) Priority of single room will be given to existing PhD students first. The remaining single rooms will be reserved for PhD freshmen who will be admitted in the 1st semester of AY2024/2025.
c) If there are single room(s) released before the residence period, the single room(s) will be allocated to applicants who have been approved for accommodation for the 1st semester of AY2024/2025 at that moment. The allocation order is existing PhD students, PhD freshmen, and Master’s students (including new students). When the number of available rooms is insufficient, it will be decided by a draw.
d) SRS will assign the single room(s) randomly to successful applicants and no further adjustment would be allowed for room allocation.
IV.3 S2-S4 shared room / W32 shared room
a) Applicants who have already matched with a student who is currently living alone in a shared room or who will stay with the same roommate will be arranged first, both successful applicants will stay together in a shared room during the residence period, subject to availability. In addition, both students are required to submit their own applications and be consistent with the roommate’s information. In case of any inconsistent information, both students cannot stay together and will be allocated randomly by SRS.
b) For other applicants who cannot find a roommate to stay with during the residence period or whose preferred roommate has been placed on the waiting list, the SRS will assign a roommate on behalf for them refer to student’s sleeping time or relocate the applicants to other shared rooms. When the number of available rooms is insufficient, it will be decided by a draw.
c) Location arrangement of shared room: When the number of available bedspaces in the same location is insufficient, it will be decided by a draw. For applicants who are not successfully allocated to their preferred location, the SRS will assist in adjusting their location according to actual conditions.
d) SRS will assign the shared room(s) randomly to successful applicants and no further adjustment would be allowed for room allocation.
e) Since W32 dormitory is equipped with a central cooking area, SRS strongly urges applicants who have cooking needs should choose W zone as their preferred location.
V. For current PGH students who did not apply or were not approved for a bedspace for the 1st semester of AY2024/2025, the last move-out date is:
Non-summer stay residents: 31 May 2024 before 14:00.
Summer stay residents: 24 July 2024 before 14:00.
VI. Move-out procedure: Students must reserve the move-out procedure at the PGH Management Company (S3-G003/W32-G003) at least 72 hours (3 days) before the move-out date, if not, a handling fee of MOP 500 will be charged.
For example, if a student would like to move out on 24 July (11:00am), he/she shall make the reservation via the Management Company on/before 21 July (11:00am).
– PGH residents must return their room keys or cards and any other UM properties and pay all related fees and fines upon move-out.
– Students are required to remove their personal belongings and garbage in the room before move-out. Otherwise, their belongings in the room will be disposed and the Garbage Removal Fee (MOP 370 per person) will be levied.
VII. Overstay penalty: for residents who did not move-out of PGH by the date stated in Point C-V, their room cards will be deactivated and an eviction order will be issued to overstayed residents. Moreover, the resident will be charged the residence fee of the relative residence period and an extra overstay penalty (MOP 440/suite/per night, MOP220/single room/per night and MOP 155/resident in a shared room/per night) according to the type of the occupied room until the completion of accommodation application or move-out procedure.
For those residents who have moved out of PGH WITHOUT performing the move-out procedure, UM shall not only take relevant disciplinary actions, handling fees will also be levied. UM will charge the residence fee and overstay penalty until the move-out procedure is completed.
VIII. In general, only one room change application will be available for each semester subject to room availability, the specific application date will be announced in due course. Any room change request received before/after the room change application period will NOT be considered.
IX. V. Students will receive a confirmation email in their UM student email accounts after the application form is successfully submitted.
VI. If NO confirmation is received, which means the delivery of application is unsuccessful, students should contact SRS to review the application and re-submit again. Otherwise, the accommodation request will not be considered after the application period.
VII. Applicants with Macao Resident Identity Card who do not have a residence in Macao must also fill out the “Declaration of No Residence in Macao” and send it to sao.pgh@um.edu.mo. Application will not be considered due to late submission or declaration.

Notes for PGH Residence Fee:
a) Students whose application of PGH accommodation in the 1st semester of AY2024/2025 is accepted will be required to pay their residence fee within the payment period stated in the schedule under Point B.
b) If NO residence fee is received by the payment deadline, the application will be cancelled automatically and NObedspace will be reserved.
c) Students, who have paid the PGH residence fee and decided NOT to move-in PGH in the 1st semester of AY2024/2025, are required to send a written request to Student Resources Section (SRS) for approval before the residence period. d) Students, who have paid the PGH residence fee and decided to move-out from PGH within the first 3 months of the residence period of the 1st semester of AY2024/2025, PGH residence fee will be refunded in proportion to students ONLY with reasons of graduation, deferment, withdrawal of study, exchange (with supporting documents), medical issues (with medical certificates from hospitals in Macao). For the amount of refundable residence fee, please refer to “PGH Refund Terms and Conditions”. No refund will be given to the students who moved-out without aforesaid reasons or moved-out during the last 2 months of the residence period of the semester.

c) 倘若住宿期開始前有單人房釋出,將分配予當時已獲批准2024/2025學年第一學期住宿的申請人,分配次序為博士舊生、博士新生、碩士生(含新生)。當空餘房間數量不足時,將以抽籤方式作決定。
d) 單人房將由學生資源處隨機分配,獲分配單人房的申請人不允許更改房間。
IV.3 S2-S4雙人房 / W32雙人房:
a) 優先安排已經自行與目前單獨住在雙人房的宿生匹配 或 維持原室友的申請人。視房間情況而定,將安排雙方獲批的申請人於住宿期間入住至一間雙人房。兩名學生必須分別提交個人申請並與室友的信息保持一致。如果發現任何不一致的信息,則兩個學生不能安排至同一房間,並由學生資源處隨機分配。
b) 其他未能為住宿期間匹配室友或其意向室友被列入候補名單的申請人,學生資源處將為其隨機重新分配至另一雙人房或參考學生提供的作息時間安排新室友,學生有可能獲分配一個與其作息時間不一致的室友。當空餘房間數量不足時,將以抽籤方式作決定。
c) 雙人房居住區域安排:當同一區域空餘宿位數量不足時,將以抽籤方式作決定。未能成功分配至意向區域的申請人,將按照實際房間情況由學生資源處調整居住區域。
d) 雙人房將由學生資源處隨機分配,獲分配雙人房的申請人不允許更改房間。
e) 由於西三十二 (W32) 宿舍設有中央煮食區,學生資源處強烈呼籲有煮食需求的申請人,應選擇申請西區宿舍。
V. 若宿生沒有提交2024/2025學年第一學期住宿申請或申請不獲受理,其最後的遷離宿舍日期如下:
VII. 逾期遷出費用:如果宿生能在在C-V點規定的日期或之前離開研究生宿舍,宿生持有的房卡將被停用,且宿生將被勒令立即遷離宿舍。此外,該宿生將被徵收該學期相應的住宿費用,且需額外按其佔用的房間類型繳付逾期遷出費 (澳門元440元/套房/每晚,澳門元220元/單人房/每晚,澳門元155元/雙人房/每晚/每人) 直至相應遷離宿舍手續辦妥為止。

IV. Arrangement of various room types for applicants who have been approved for Summer Stay 2024:
For residents of the 2nd semester of this academic year, the stay period for the assigned room type and bedspace will end on 31 May 2024. The arrangement of various room types and bedspaces during the summer stay period will be determined with reference to the status and results of the applicant’s accommodation application for the 1st semester of next academic year. If applicants were assigned to a different room type or bedspace during the summer stay period, to cooperate with the university’s overall safety, engineering projects and overall planning, applicants must complete the room change procedures according to the room change arrangement of Summer Stay 2024 which will be announced on the final results.
V. SRS will assign the room(s) randomly to those successful applicants and no further adjustment would be allowed for the room allocation.
VI. For current PGH students who did not apply or were not approved for a bedspace for the summer stay, the last move-out date for the 2nd semester of AY2023/2024 is 31 May 2024 before 14:00.
VII. Move-out procedure: Students must reserve the move-out procedure at the PGH Management Company (S3-G003 or W32-G003) at least 72 hours (3 days) before the move-out date, if not, a handling fee of MOP 500 will be charged.
For example, if a student would like to move out on 31 May (11:00am), he/she shall make the reservation via the Management Company on/before 28 May (11:00am).
– PGH residents must return their room keys or cards and any other UM properties and pay all the related fees and fines upon move-out.
– Students are required to remove their personal belongings and garbage in the room before move-out. Otherwise, their belongings in the room will be disposed and the Garbage Removal Fee (MOP 370 per person) will be levied.
VIII. Overstay penalty: for residents who did not move-out of PGH by the date stated in Point C-VI, their room cards will be deactivated and an eviction order will be issued to overstayed residents. Moreover, the resident will be charged the residence fee of the relative residence period and an extra overstay penalty (MOP 440/suite/per night, MOP 220/single room/per night and MOP 155/resident in a shared room/per night) according to the type of the occupied room until the completion of accommodation application or move-out procedure.
For those residents who have moved out of PGH WITHOUT performing the move-out procedure, UM shall not only take relevant disciplinary actions, handling fees will also be levied. UM will charge the residence fee and overstay penalty until the move-out procedure is completed.
IX. According to Article 39 of the Personnel Statue of UM and Article 9 of Chapter 7 of Regulations of the Personnel Affairs of the UM about the attribution of housing subsidy, UM staff is not eligible to receive the housing subsidy when he/she successfully applies for the housing provided by UM or any public entities, including the Student Dormitory (i.e. Postgraduate House).
X. Room assignment is arranged by SRS. For any room with vacant beds, SRS reserves all rights to assign other students to them at any moment.

III. 研究生宿舍將於暑假期間分階段進行大型維修及深層清潔,所有受影響的學生需於暑假期間遷離原宿位,2024年暑期住宿申請獲批準的申請人必須配合校方的工程並在指定的轉房期內按照結果中的房號完成轉房手續。
IV. 就獲批2024年暑期住宿申請人之各類房型安排:目前住宿生在本學年第二學期所分配到的房型及床位之住宿期限到2024年5月31日止。2024年暑期住宿期間各類房型及床位安排將參照申請人2024/2025學年第一學期住宿申請狀態及結果而定,申請人若暑期住宿期間被分配至其他房型或床位,必須按照最後確認名單中公佈的暑期住宿轉房安排完成轉房手續,以配合校方的總體安全、環境工程及整體規劃。
V. 房間將由學生資源處隨機分配,獲分配房間的申請人不允許更改房間。

VII. 遷離宿舍手續:宿生在正式遷離研究生宿舍前,須至少提前三天於管理公司預約遷離手續及填寫研究生宿舍遷離宿舍表。

Please be informed that 2024 PGH Summer Luggage Storage is now open for application. Eligible applicants are active students currently living in PGH.
For the summer stay period (1 June to 24 July 2024) students can EITHER apply for 2024 Summer Stay or Summer Luggage Storage Service. Simultaneous application will NOT be accepted.
Details of the 2024 PGH Summer Luggage Storage application is as follows:

C) Luggage Storage Arrangement:
I. Each eligible student may apply for a maximum of THREE (3) storage spaces. Active students who are currently living in PGH are considered as eligible students. Once status is changed to inactive/graduate, students have to retrieve their luggage as soon as possible and settle any outstanding luggage fees.
II. PGH Summer Luggage Storage fee is MOP 50 per storage space. Please note that students can pay either by MacauPass, UnionPay “QuickPass” and cash (no change given). Luggage storage fee should be paid upon storing luggage. Students are required to store their luggage all at once. It is not allowed to store-in for the second time even the storage quota is not used up.
III. Students are required to pack their belongings into a bag/box for placing on a floor area or a layer of rack with approximate dimensions of 60cm (Length) x 30cm (Width) and 60cm (Height), which is the size of one storage space.
IV. All eligible students need to pack and move their luggage by themselves. Helper assistance will NOT be provided for moving the bag(s)/box(es).
V. The summer storage service is NOT provided to summer stay students.
VI. Successful applicants for the summer luggage storage are required to download and fill in the summer luggage forms before storing luggage. The forms will be made available with the result announcement on 8 April 2024.
VII. Eligible students are required to retrieve their stored luggage within the designated Luggage Retrieval Period. Any retrieval of luggage before 31-August will still be charged at MOP 50 per storage space, with or without early retrieval of luggage.
VIII. Students are responsible for padlocking their luggage boxes. No electric goods, consumables (such as food, drinks, cash), valuables, vulnerable and illegal goods are allowed in luggage boxes. UM will inform the authorities for any grounded suspicion of illegal goods.
IX. There is no air conditioning in the luggage storage area.
X. Late application will NOTbe considered and entertained. Any decision made by SRS shall be final.
D) Luggage Moving Procedure:
I. Students whose summer luggage applications are approved are required to fill in the “2024 Summer Luggage Confirmation Form” & “2024 Summer Luggage Declaration Form”. Forms will be made available with the result announcement on 8 April 2024.
II. For students who are not available during the moving period, they are required to fill in the “2024 Summer Luggage Authorization Form” and authorize another UM student to process the procedure.
E. Late Retrieval Penalty:
I. An Administrative Fee of MOP 100 will be charged for any late retrievalbetween 1 Sep to 30 Sep 2024.
II. An Administrative Fee of MOP 100 and a penalty fee of MOP 100 per storage space per monthwill be charged for any late retrieval between 1 Oct – 31 Dec 2024, with a maximum penalty of MOP 300 per month and a total maximum penalty of MOP 900 in addition to the MOP 100 administrative fee.
III. The Administrative Fee & Penalty Fee will be charged through E-debit Note or through cash upon retrieval of luggage.
IV. SRS has the right to dispose any stored luggage after the last overdue storage date on 31 Dec 2024.
V. Students have to bear any damage of the luggage by themselves and UM will not be responsible for it.

Due to insufficient bedspaces in PGH, according to the “PGH Resident Rules” and the “Guidelines for Assessing the Applications for UM PGH Accommodation”, the University can only ensure accommodation for year-one postgraduate students who are in their first year of study and do not have a residence in Macao. All second year postgraduate students or above will unlikely be offered an accommodation in PGH. PGH accommodation are not provided to students at all levels of the following courses: EMBA, DBA, EdD, DPA and Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma Programmes. Students who were not offered a bedspace are required to arrange off-campus accommodation by themselves. For off-campus accommodation information, please refer to Student Resources Section (Student Housing) website (https://srs.sao.um.edu.mo/macau-residential-rental-information/).
For details of on-campus accommodation application, eligible students who have accepted the offer from UM will be notified by email from Student Resources Section. Students who need on-campus accommodation should follow the instructions stated in the email and submit the application within the specified period. Late application will NOT be considered.

C. Settling Payment of Room Rate Difference of Normal Summer Stay Period:
For students who are required to settle the room rate difference for normal summer stay period should settle the payment within the payment period stated in the schedule under Point B.
If students are assigned to a room type which is different from the one they are currently staying in for Summer Stay 2023, students are required to complete the room change procedure during the room change period stated on the final results, the entire PGH Summer Stay period will be charged based on the room type with HIGHER room rate.
Any LATE payment settlement will NOT be accepted, the application will be CANCELLED automatically and NO bedspace will be reserved.
For students who have paid the PGH Summer Stay Fee and decided NOT to move-into PGH during summer, are required to send a written request to Student Resources Section (SRS) for approvalbefore the summer stay period. For the amount of refundable residence fee, please refer to “PGH Refund Terms and Conditions”.

Procedure for Room Change : Note: According to the declaration stated on the summer stay application, all applicants have agreed to complete the room change procedure in cooperation with PGH’s overall safety and engineering projects. Students who fail to move to the newly assigned room within the period stated in Point B will be considered as violating the Article 3 of “Postgraduate House Resident Rules” and penalties will be imposed on concerned students.
1) Before performing the room change, student should…
– Remove all personal belongings and garbage, otherwise, Garbage Removal Fee (MOP 370 per person) will be imposed.
– Restore the room to its original condition, otherwise, Cleaning Fee (MOP 420 per room) will be imposed.
– Clear and tidy the common area (eg. bathroom) even the other student in the same room has not moved out.
2) During the room change period…
(a) Student should…
– Approach the Management Company Office# for the newly assigned room, present your student ID to the staff and fill in the Room Change Form.
– Collect the new room key card.
– Check the new room and complete the equipment checklist to confirm the condition of the new room. The checklist must be returned to the Management Company Office# for the newly assigned room within 3 days. If the checklist is not received, it is assumed that the room is in good condition and student should bear the responsibility for any damage or loss of equipment.
– Return the old room key card to the staff of Management Company Office# for the previous room.
– Compensate any damaged or lost property in the previous room.
– In case you are unable to change to the new room in person, you may choose to authorize another UM student to perform the room change procedure on your behalf. To perform the authorization process, please fill in the authorization form and attach the ID copies of both parties and hand them to the Management Company during the appointment.
– Check the cleanliness / conditions of the current room according to the equipment checklist.
– Record the electricity and water meter readings for any excess usage.

Overstay penalty: For students who did not move-out of PGH by the date stated in Point D-I, their room cards will be deactivated and an eviction order will be issued to overstayed students. Moreover, the student will be charged the residence fee of the relative residence period and an extra overstay penalty (MOP440/suite/per night, MOP220/single room/per night and MOP155/student in a shared room/per night) according to the type of the occupied room until the completion of accommodation application or the move-out procedure.
For those residents who have moved out of PGH WITHOUT performing the move-out procedure, UM shall not only take relevant disciplinary actions, handling fees will also be charged. UM will charge the residence fee and overstay penalty until the move-out procedure is completed.
According to Article 39 of the Personnel Statue of UM and Article 9 of Chapter 7 of Regulations of the Personnel Affairs of the UM about the attribution of housing subsidy, UM staff is not eligible to receive the housing subsidy when he/she successfully applies for the housing provided by UM or any public entities, including the Student Dormitory (i.e. Postgraduate House).
Room assignment is arranged by SRS. For any room with vacant bedspace, SRS reserves all rights to assign other students to them at any moment.
