Recruitment of Student Trainees for Global Affairs Office

Scope of tasks
Student trainees will be expected to perform the following tasks/duties:
1. General trainees (administrative support)
- Provide assistance in clerical tasks, including but not limited to:
– documentation and filing
– data input and processing
– reception of the public at the front desk
– delivery of documents/goods (in campus)
– other ad-hoc office tasks and assignment - Provide assistance in the organization of activities and events, such as university-level meetings and conferences, student activities and ceremonial events
- Provide support in guest reception activities
2. Technical trainees (with specialised technical skills)
- For applicants with any of the following specialised technical skills may be considered as “technical trainees” (with additional stipend; see “Working Hours & Stipend” section for more information:
– Portuguese speaking, writing and translation
– Graphic design (with Adobe software)
– Professional photography
– Video processing
– Website maintenance (with Word Press)
- Applicants may also indicate any other professional skills in their CV for consideration
Requirements
We are looking for students with the following qualities:
- Good knowledge in using Microsoft Office; knowledge in graphic design/processing software (such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is preferred
- Good command of spoken and written Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) and English; proficiency in written and spoken Portuguese is highly preferred
- Punctual, polite and strong sense of responsibility with positive working attitude
- Good communication skills and willing to communicate with visitors and guests
- Being able to work according to a fixed working schedule will be prioritized for consideration
Note: The applicant must have an active UM student status to apply for the trainee position.
Working Hours & Stipend
Students trainees are expected to work according to the sessions defined below:
- Regular working hours for student trainees:
Monday to Friday
– morning session: 09:30-12:30 (3 hours)
– afternoon session: 14:30-17:30 (3 hours) - Trainees are required to work 6-15 hours per week (2-5 sessions)
- An hourly rate at MOP48 will be offered for general trainees
- An hourly rate at MOP66 will be offered for technical trainees
Remarks:
1) Working hours and schedule can be otherwise negotiated but should be not exceed 15 hours per week.
2) In case of need to work on weekends or public holidays, Global Affairs Office will contact the student trainees in advance to check their availability.
