How to protect yourself from falling into employment traps

如何保護自己避免墮入求職陷阱

During the job hunting season, graduates are in full swing, but some may take the opportunity to set up employment traps. We have summarized “5 Dos and 5 Don’ts” for you to protect yourself：

5 Dos:

  • It is important to understand the background of the recruiting company to ensure that the company is reliable and legally operating;
  • Be suspicious of job advertisements that do not make sense, such as jobs with high salaries for low qualifications and no work experience requirements;
  • Be vigilant at all times and turn down job offers from strangers on the internet;
  • Be cautious when looking for a job and do not have the mindset of making quick money through the Internet to avoid falling into the trap of fraud. If necessary, seek advice from your family and friends;
  • Pay more attention to cyber security information and raise awareness of personal precautions

5 Don’ts:

  • Don’t disclose personal or bank information at the request of strangers, or make remittances or transfers at their request;
  • Don’t trust any job that says “shop first, get paid later, earn big money in a short time”;
  • Don’t pay any fees or buy any company products. Refuse to pay unreasonable fees requested by the company under various reasons, e.g. training fees, deposits, etc; and do not buy products offered by the company under any name;
  • Don’t sign anything arbitrarily. Do not sign any document or contract arbitrarily until the employment relationship has been established.
  • Don’t agree to work that might involve breaking the law, as it could lead to a criminal record and affect your future.

求職季，各位畢業生們正如火如荼地展開自己的求職大計，然而也會有人趁機設下求職陷阱。我們歸納了求職的『五要五不要』，讓你能夠保護好自己：

五要：

  • 要先了解招聘公司的背景，以確保公司是否可靠及合法經營；
  • 要對不合乎常理的求職廣告存疑，例如低學歷、無工作經驗要求，卻有高薪的工作；
  • 要時刻保持警惕，拒絕網上陌生人提供的工作機會；
  • 要小心謹慎，尋找工作時切勿抱有透過網絡賺快錢的心態，以免墮入騙財陷阱。必要時可應徵詢家人、朋友的意見；
  • 要多關注網絡安全資訊，提高個人防範意識。

五不要：

  • 不要應陌生人要求透露個人或銀行卡等資料，或者應對方要求進行匯款或轉帳；
  • 不要輕信任何表明 “先購物、後回佣，短時間內能賺取暴利”的刷單工作；
  • 不要繳費或購買公司產品。拒絕公司以各種名義要求繳交不合理的費用，例如訓練費、保證金等；以及不要購買公司以任何名目推出的產品；
  • 不要隨意簽約。在確定勞動關係前，不要隨意簽署任何文件或契約。
  • 不要答應有機會涉及違法的工作，因若觸犯法例，可能會留有案底，影響前途。

  • How do you see this position developing over the next three years?
  • How will my work contribute to the company’s mission?
  • How can I best contribute to the department’s goals and the team’s success?
