How to be an excellent intern

如何成為一位優秀的實習生

Summer is a great time to gain work experience, and an internship is the perfect way to get a feel for the job before you start. How can you be an excellent intern that employers like?

• Be ready to learn: The main purpose of an internship is for you to gain work experience. A good attitude to learning can help you learn as much as possible about the job  in a short period of time.
• Be punctual: Punctuality couldn’t be easier, but many students fail to do it. Interns are not only expected to come to work on time, but also arriving early for meetings can help you make arrangements and leave a good impression on the employers.
• A good working attitude : Even if the tasks are simple or the workload is too much, you should keep a professional attitude so that you can complete your work smoothly.
• Managing interpersonal relationships at work: If you can maintain a good interpersonal relationship with other interns and colleagues, you can make a good impression on other people. This can help you in your career development.

暑假是大學生累積工作經驗的好時機，而實習更是踏入職場前的模擬演練。如何成為僱主心目中喜愛的優秀實習生呢？

• 擁有好學的心態：實習的主要目的是累積工作經驗，擁有好學的心態能夠幫助你在短時間內學習到最多工作上的知識。
• 守時：守時最簡單不過了，但許多同學卻難以遵守。實習生不僅需要準時上班，在開會的時候，可以提早到達，幫忙安排相關事宜，給僱主留下好印象。
• 良好的工作態度：無論工作簡單或任務繁重，都應該保持專業的工作態度，這樣才能順利地把工作完成。
• 維持良好的人際關係：與其他實習生及同事之間維持良好的關係，能給大家留下好印象，有助於之後的職業發展。

How to protect yourself from employment traps

如何保護自己避免墮入求職陷阱

During the job hunting season, graduates are in full swing to start their job search plans. However, some people will take the opportunity to set up employment traps. To protect yourself, we’ve summarized the ‘5 Dos and 5 Don’ts’ of job hunting for you.

5 Dos:

• It is important to understand the background of the recruiting company to ensure that the company is reliable and legally operating;
• Be suspicious of job advertisements that do not make sense, such as jobs with high salaries for low qualifications and no work experience requirements;
• Be vigilant at all times and refuse job offers from strangers on the internet;
• Be cautious when looking for a job and do not have the mindset of making quick money on the internet to avoid falling into the trap of a scam. If necessary, seek advice from your family and friends;
• Pay more attention to cyber security information and raise awareness of personal precautions

5 Don’ts:

• Don’t disclose personal or bank information at the request of strangers, or make remittances or transfers at their request;
• Don’t trust any job that says “shop first, get paid later, make a lot of money in a short time”;
• Don’t pay any fees or buy any company products. Refuse to pay unreasonable fees requested by the company for various reasons, e.g. training fees, deposits, etc; and do not buy products offered by the company under any name;
• Don’t sign anything arbitrarily. Do not arbitrarily sign any document or contract until the employment relationship has been established.
• Don’t agree to work that might involve breaking the law, as this could lead to a criminal record and affect your future.

每到求職季，畢業生們都會如火如荼地開展自己的求職大計，然而有些人會趁機設置求職陷阱。我們總結了求職的『5要5不要』，讓你能夠保護自己：

5要：

• 要先了解招聘公司的背景，以確保公司可靠及合法經營；
• 要對不合乎常理的求職廣告存疑，例如低學歷、無工作經驗要求，卻有高薪的工作；
• 要時刻保持警惕，拒絕網上陌生人提供的工作機會；
• 要小心謹慎，尋找工作時切勿抱有透過網絡賺快錢的心態，以免墮入騙財陷阱。必要時可應徵詢家人、朋友的意見；
• 要多關注網絡安全資訊，提高個人防範意識。

5不要：

• 不要應陌生人要求透露個人或銀行等資料，或者應對方要求進行匯款或轉帳；
• 不要輕信任何表明 “先購物、後回佣，短時間內能賺取暴利”的刷單工作；
• 不要繳費或購買公司產品。拒絕公司以各種名義要求繳交不合理的費用，例如訓練費、保證金等；以及不要購買公司以任何名目推出的產品；
• 不要隨意簽約。在確定勞動關係前，不要隨意簽署任何文件或契約。
• 不要答應有機會涉及違法的工作，因若觸犯法例，可能會留有案底，影響前途。

What kind of questions can you ask the employer in an interview?

Employers will usually ask you if you have any questions at the end of an interview, so we have prepared some questions to help you impress them.

• How do you see this position developing over the next three years?
• How will my work contribute to the company’s mission?
• How can I best contribute to the department’s goals and the team’s success?

僱主通常會在面試的最後階段問求職者是否有任何問題，因此我們準備了一些問題助你給僱主留下深刻印象:

• 您認為這個職位在未來三年的發展前景如何？
• 我的工作將如何為公司的使命做出貢獻？
