Call for Application: AY2024/2025 1st Semester Exchange Programmes

Exchange is an opportunity to attend classes at renowned universities while earning credit towards your degree at UM.
There are 2 different levels of exchange programmes:
- University-level programmes hosted by Global Affairs Office (GAO) and are open to all Year 2 or above UG students.
- Unit-level programmes hosted by faculties or units and the programmes are open to their affiliated students only.
Interested students are strongly suggested to check the course details and seek for academic advice before application, students only have limited time to consider for the nomination offer. Those who have accepted the exchange nomination offer are not allowed to withdraw without ample reason (difficulties on courses matching and course exemption or deferral of graduation is not a reason to withdraw from Exchange). Any withdrawal will be recorded down for the evaluation of other activities or scholarship application at UM.
Rules for Semester-based Outgoing Exchange Programmes
Note: Exchange Students must enroll at least 9 UM equivalent credits (i.e. at least 108 teaching hours in total) per semester.
University-level Exchange Programmes are hosted by GAO and are open to all Year 2 or above UG students.
Upon submission of exchange application, students confirm to accept all the terms of Exchange Programmes attached in the above table.

Unit-level Exchange Programmes are hosted by faculties/ units and are open to its affiliated students only.
Application Portal
Students who are interested in applying Semester Exchange or Study Abroad Programmes [including University Level and Unit Level Programmes] should make applications via the online Portal “Outbound Exchange and Scholarship Application System”. Applicants are strongly suggested to download the User Guide from the System (on the top right corner of the webpage) and follow the application procedures.
Application Documents
- Curriculum Vitae (Photo, Experience, Awards, Personal Skills)
- Travel documents
- Language Proficiency, if any
- Other supporting documents, if any (e.g. certificate, awards, learning agreement, additional documents required by faculties)
- All supporting and additional documents required by each host unit should be combined in one pdf
- Documents should be named in this format: [Name]_[Type of Docs] (e.g. Chan Dai Man_CV; Chan Dai Man_Supporting Documents)
Important Reminders
- Students are only allowed to create and submit one (1) application form in this call, with a maximum of 6 Exchange Programmes/ Study Abroad Programmes, i.e. 3 University-level Programmes and 3 Unit-level Programmes.
- Submitted application forms cannot be removed or edited. Students should check carefully all the information before submission [including the priority of your exchange preference].
- The application form can not be submitted if any of the selected Programmes are not within the Application Period.
- Student should make sure whether he/she is applying for Exchange Programme or Study Abroad Programme. Exchange Application should be created under “Outbound Exchange” while study abroad application should be created under “Outbound Study Abroad”.
- Late application will not be considered.
