UM honorary doctor Ze Zhang to give talk on advanced materials on Friday
The University of Macau (UM) will hold a UM Doctor honoris causa Lecture on 28 November (Friday). Ze Zhang, recipient of the Doctor of Science honoris causa from UM, will deliver a talk titled ‘In-Situ Microstructure Study on Property Variation of Advanced Materials under Simulated Service Condition’. All are welcome to attend.
Prof Zhang was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001 and is currently a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University. He also serves as a chief scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China. Prof Zhang has received numerous prestigious national science and technology awards. His pioneering research focuses on microstructure and its influence on physical properties, which has significantly advanced the development of materials science and greatly influenced the understanding of nanostructure behaviour and its practical applications.
In the lecture, Prof Zhang will present his research on in-situ microstructure studies of property variation in advanced materials under simulated service conditions. He will also share his academic experiences, challenges, and insights, and offer his outlook on future research directions and applications.
The lecture will begin at 3:00pm on 28 November (Friday) in the Auditorium of the UM Library (E2-G012) and will be conducted in English. To register for the talk, please visit https://isw.um.edu.mo/evmapp/register/hd2025. For enquiries, please call +853 8822 4142 or email the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering at iapme.enquiry@um.edu.mo.
