澳大珠研院與一微半導體聯合實驗室揭牌

珠海澳大科技研究院—珠海一微半導體股份有限公司聯合實驗室今(6)日揭牌。該聯合實驗室將聚焦集成電路與機器人技術研究與應用,旨在成爲琴澳產學研交流合作的示範基地,促進琴澳乃至粵港澳大灣區集成電路產業高質量發展。

橫琴粵澳深度合作區經濟發展局副局長張戈在致辭中指出,隨着《橫琴粵澳深度合作區促進集成電路產業發展若干措施》等政策發佈,合作區積極推動集成電路產業躍升發展;該聯合實驗室代表著琴澳合作上升到新的高度,共同助力合作區“加快構建特色芯片設計、測試和檢測的微電子產業”。

澳門大學副校長馬許願表示,澳大模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室擁有國際一流研發水平,是次共建聯合實驗室,有助將實驗室的研發成果迅速應用到實際產業當中,真正實現科研成果的轉移轉化。

珠研院副院長王春明指出,澳大、珠研院與一微半導體的合作由來已久,從2019年成功申報國家科技部重點專項,到順利獲批廣東省工程技術中心,到大學和研究院專利授權一微半導體,再到今日共建聯合實驗室及人才培訓基地,三方有著多年堅實的合作基礎,是產學研深度融合發展的典範,期待未來共創更多成果。

一微半導體聯合創始人兼高級副總裁姜新橋表示,一微半導體、澳大及珠研院的產學研合作情誼深厚,是次推進建立聯合實驗室,有利於加速科研成果產業化,幫助一微半導體更好地把握橫琴粵澳深度合作區的發展機遇。

澳門智慧人文勵政會會長、澳門騰創科技投資有限公司的董事長吳在權表示,希望通過投資一微,共同推進機器人產業的快速發展,由此更深入的參與到合作區的建設中,爲澳門產業多元發展做出貢獻。此次活動代表澳門與珠海在科技界前沿領域的密切合作邁出了重要一步,相信雙方可以依此契機,在科技創新及成果轉化上實現更大的突破。

此外,同場還舉行了廣東省工程技術研究中心揭牌、專利簽約儀式和共建橫琴集成電路人才基地簽約儀式,標誌着澳大、珠海澳大科技研究院及珠海一微半導體股份有限公司將在科研合作、技術轉移及人才培養方面進一步深入合作。及後,澳大微電子研究院副院長兼科技學院副教授冼世榮、微電子研究院副教授林智聲和一微半導體研發總監趙偉兵聚焦“高性能模數轉換器芯片設計—研發與產業化”、“運用電力電子與微電子”和“機器人SLAM 生態及專用芯片”等方面進行分享,推動各界更好地認識和利用聯合實驗室的技術和資源。

未來,珠研院將攜手一微半導體,積極助力合作區構建“前沿領域芯佈局、特色芯片全生態、高端產測全鏈條、國際人才全匯聚”的產業體系,勢必打造一張不一樣的橫琴“芯”名片。

ZUMRI, Amicro inaugurate joint laboratory

Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute (ZUMRI) and Amicro Semiconductor Co Ltd (Amicro) held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the ZUMRI-Amicro Joint Laboratory today (6 June). The joint laboratory will focus on the research and application of integrated circuit (IC) and robotics technologies, with the aim of building itself into a demonstration base for industry-academia collaboration between Hengqin and Macao, and promoting the quality development of the IC industry in Hengqin, Macao, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Zhang Ge, deputy director of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, said in his speech that a series of policies have been introduced to promote the IC industry in the cooperation zone and the inauguration of the joint laboratory marks a milestone in the history of cooperation between Hengqin and Macao. Rui Martins, vice rector of the University of Macau (UM), noted in his speech that the establishment of the joint laboratory will facilitate the application of research results in the industry. Wang Chunming, deputy director of ZUMRI; Jiang Xinqiao, co-founder and senior vice president of Amicro; and Ung Choi Kun, president of the Macao Wisdom Humanities Encourage Political Association also delivered a speech at the event. After the ceremony, experts from UM and Amicro shared their latest results in chip research.

澳大成功研發抑制腫瘤復發貼片

澳門大學健康科學學院副教授代雲路的研究團隊和院長鄧初夏的研究團隊合作,在腫瘤患者的術後輔助治療取得重大突破。團隊利用開發的柔性免疫輔助貼片刺激手術保留的腫瘤浸潤性前哨淋巴結,激活內部獨有的腫瘤抗原特異性CD8+ T細胞包括其記憶性細胞,能長效抑制腫瘤復發。相關研究成果在腫瘤治療領域備受矚目,並已獲國際頂級學術期刊《自然通訊》(Nature Communications)刊登。

該研究證實腫瘤浸潤性前哨淋巴結(SLN)在術後免疫調控方面的積極作用,解答了此淋巴結是否必須手術切除的臨床爭論。近來,日益增多的臨床研究學者質疑手術中清除SLN的必須性。以乳腺癌為例,臨床追蹤大量已存在前哨淋巴結轉移的患者後發現,是否摘除腋下淋巴對手術患者的無病生存情況影響微弱。再者,前哨淋巴結是腫瘤引流的第一站淋巴結,內含豐富的免疫細胞接受腫瘤抗原的刺激,對機體特異性抗腫瘤T細胞的產生至關重要。但由於這些T細胞易遭受入侵癌細胞的免疫抑制,SLN因此在抗癌道路上進退兩難。探究SLN內T細胞的免疫抑制情況,針對性激活其抗腫瘤免疫功能,對優化臨床手術方案及改善術後病患復原意義重大。

研究團隊利用小鼠原位4T1乳腺癌模型,藉助單細胞RNA測序和糖酵解分析等手段發現,SLN內原本激活的CD8+ T細胞高表達PD-1,同時並未呈現出應有的糖酵解高活性以滿足細胞殺傷需求,反而以有氧呼吸為主,維持自身基本能量。對此,團隊開發出一款生物安全性佳的柔性免疫輔助貼片進行干預。手術切除實體瘤並保留SLN後,原位貼合柔性貼片於術後腫瘤區域(圖1)。貼片可通過響應周邊微環境緩慢釋放攜帶的PD-1抗體和納米級免疫助劑(鎂鐵基層狀金屬氫氧化物,LDH)。憑藉腫瘤與SLN之間的淋巴血管網絡,兩類治療試劑可時空性穿越至SLN。治療抗體通過靶向已激活CD8+ T細胞表面的PD-1,可上調其糖酵解活性及腫瘤殺傷性,但對未激活CD8+ T細胞沒有影響。與抗體不同,LDH助劑能憑藉自身的功能性Mg2+離子和Fe3+離子增強TCR信號,多方面提升CD8+ T細胞的免疫效應功能,包括激活、糖酵解活性和細胞毒性殺傷性等。PD-1抗體和LDH助劑加乘效果,顯著上調SLN內獨有的腫瘤抗原特異性CD8+ T細胞,成功重塑SLN用於抗腫瘤免疫。

值得一提的是,貼片基質選取的是具備生物友好特性的殼聚糖衍生物,確保其調控SLN免疫功效的同時,並不會影響術後傷口恢復。貼片使用方法簡便,能夠在切除腫瘤後直接貼附傷口處,不對病患造成二次傷害。另外,貼片攜帶的治療組分可靈活調變,有望促進個性化術後輔助治療的革新。

UM successfully develops immunoadjuvant flex-patch to prevent tumour relapses 

A team led by Yunlu Dai, the associate professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Macau (UM) has made a significant breakthrough in postoperative cancer therapy in a research collaboration with a team led by Chu-Xia Deng, dean of the FHS, UM. The research teams developed a flex-patch to fuel metastatic sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs), activating tumour antigen-specific CD8+ T cells and their memory subsets to facilitate long-term tumour-specific immune protection. The study has received considerable attention in the field and has been published in the international journal Nature Communications.

The study confirms the positive role of tumour-infiltrating SLNs in postoperative immune regulation, resolving the clinical debate over whether lymph nodes must be surgically removed. In recent years, an increasing number of clinical researchers have questioned the necessity of removing SLNs during surgery. For example, in breast cancer, after tracking a large number of patients with existing SLN metastasis, it was found that the removal of axillary lymph nodes had little impact on the disease-free survival of surgical patients. Furthermore, as the first lymph nodes to receive tumor drainage, SLNs contain a rich population of immune cells that receive stimulation from tumour antigens and are crucial for the production of tumour-specific anti-tumour T cells. However, these T cells are susceptible to immune suppression by invading cancer cells, presenting a dilemma in the fight against cancer. Exploring the immune suppression status of T cells in SLNs and specifically activating their anti-tumour immune function is of great significance for optimising clinical surgical procedures and improving postoperative patient recovery.

The team leveraged multiple analytic methods, including single-cell RNA sequencing and glycolytic analysis, to study metastatic SLNs from the orthotopic 4T1 breast tumour model. In addition to expressing PD-1, activated CD8+ T cells from metastatic SLNs enriched the citric acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation pathways and did not meet the bioenergetic requirements per se for killing. Instead, they primarily relied on aerobic respiration to maintain their basic energy needs. Hence, the teams developed a biologically safe and immune-fueling flex-patch for SLN reshaping. After the surgical removal of the tumour and retention of the SLN, a flex-patch was implanted on the postoperative wound (Figure 1). The patch can slowly release the immunotherapeutic anti-PD-1 antibody (aPD-1) and nanoadjuvants (magnesium iron-layered double hydroxide, LDH) by responding to the surrounding microenvironment. Through the lymphatic and blood vessels between the tumor and SLN, both types of treatment agents can cross spatial and temporal barriers to reach the SLN. The therapeutic antibody targets PD-1 on the surface of activated CD8+ T cells, which can upregulate their glycolysis activity and tumour killing ability but has no effect on inactive CD8+ T cells. LDH nanoadjuvants, different from aPD-1, comprehensively promoted CD8+ T cell effector function (e.g. activation and cytotoxic killing) via Mg2+/Fe3+-mediated shaping. Ultimately, the levels of tumour antigen-specific CD8+ T cells in patch-driven metastatic SLNs were significantly upregulated, improving postsurgical immunoadjuvant therapy. This flex-patch bridges the gap between SLN immunoreshaping and postsurgical treatment.

It is worth noting that the biocompatible chitosan derivative (CC in Figure 1) was selected as the flex-patch matrix, ensuring that the regulation of SLN immune efficacy would not affect postoperative wound healing. The patch is easy to use and can be directly attached to the wound after tumour removal, without causing secondary harm to the patient. In addition, the treatment components carried by the patch can be flexibly adjusted, which is expected to promote the innovation of personalised postoperative adjuvant therapy.

Prof Dai and Prof Deng are the corresponding authors of the study. FHS Research Assistant Professor Li Bei, Assistant Professor Miao Kai, and PhD graduate Wang Guohao share the co-first authorship. Others who have contributed to the study include postdoctoral fellows Lei Haipeng, Xie Lisi, and Yan Jie, PhD student Zhang Aiping, as well as FHS research assistants Sun Liangyu, Yu Xinwang, and Li Wenxi. 澳門大學將於6月10日(星期六)下午4時在澳大綜合體育館(N8)舉行2023年畢業典禮,向應屆學士畢業生頒發畢業證書。今年的畢業典禮繼續線上線下同步舉行,讓身處各地的畢業生和親友都能分享喜悅。

今屆學士學位課程的準畢業生有1700多名,分別來自人文學院、工商管理學院、教育學院、健康科學學院、法學院、社會科學學院和科技學院,當中有126名來自不同學院的優秀學生完成榮譽學院的課程。

UM to hold Congregation on 10 June

The University of Macau (UM) will hold the Congregation 2023 on 10 June (Saturday) at 4:00pm in the UM Sports Complex (N8) to present graduation certificates to this year’s graduates of bachelor’s degree programmes. The graduation ceremony will continue to be held in a format that combines online and in-person elements, in order to allow graduates and their families and friends from around the world to participate in the event.

This year, more than 1,700 students from bachelor’s degree programmes will receive graduation certificates. They come from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Faculty of Science and Technology. Out of these students, 126 have completed programmes offered by the Honours College.

Graduates will be admitted to the main stadium for the ceremony. Friends and relatives of the students with admission tickets can watch the live broadcast of the ceremony in three areas on campus, including the Training Hall in the UM Sports Complex (N8), the University Hall (N2), and the Multi-function Hall in the UM Guest House (N1). 澳大入選國家遙感數據與應用服務平台試點單位

澳門大學成功入選國家遙感數據與應用服務平台第二批試點應用單位,將帶動澳門遙感綜合應用。此外,在科技部國家遙感中心主任趙靜一行到訪澳門大學期間,雙方就澳大成為試點應用單位、未來區域數據共用、人才培養、綜合應用等方面的深入合作進行探討和交流。

澳大校長宋永華表示,國家遙感數據與應用服務平台作為國家級、綜合性的遙感資源分享與應用服務體系,澳大的加入標誌著國家對澳門科研工作和發展的高度重視和支持;澳大將以此為起點,進一步推進遙感衛星數據資源共建共用,帶動澳門遙感綜合應用,更好地服務國家及大灣區的智慧城市建設。

為打造平台的國際合作樞紐,加強政府與科研機構協作,趙靜主任、中國科學院空天信息創新研究院高級專務顧行發攜相關專家到訪澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室,與該實驗室助理主任馬少丹及青年學者就開放數據集共用情況和遙感數據在城市防災減災領域的應用進行座談,並就未來發展計劃交換意見,探討合作方案。

代表團到訪期間,第六屆亞洲大洋洲區域綜合觀測計劃國際研討會(AOGEO)於科技部國家遙感中心(GEO中國秘書處)主辦、澳大及中科院空天信息創新研究院承辦下在澳大成功舉辦。會議通過線上線下形式進行,並與學術期刊Journal of Remote Sensing及遙感學報線上平台合作同步直播,來自日本、澳大利亞、尼泊爾、泰國、菲律賓、柬埔寨、巴基斯坦、孟加拉等18個國家的80餘名代表參加會議,6700多名代表通過直播平台參與線上交流互動。

UM selected as pilot unit for national platform for remote sensing data and application services

A delegation led by Zhao Jing, director-general of the National Remote Sensing Center of China under the Ministry of Science and Technology, visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song. The two sides discussed and exchanged views on UM being selected as one of the pilot units of the second batch of the national platform for remote sensing data and application services and on future cooperation in regional data sharing, talent development, and integrated applications. According to Song, the national platform for remote sensing data and application services is an integrated system for sharing remote sensing resources and application services at the national level, adding that UM’s participation in the system reflects the great importance and support of the central government for Macao’s scientific research and development. Members of the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City and discussed the sharing of open datasets and the application of remote sensing data in urban disaster prevention and mitigation with UM researchers. They also exchanged views on the future development plans of both parties and explored opportunities for cooperation.

澳大澳門轉化醫學創新研究院召開會議

澳門大學澳門轉化醫學創新研究院指導委員會暨學術委員會一屆二次會議以線上線下結合的形式在廣州及澳門召開,與會專家綜合分析了研究院的概況,高度肯定其發展方向,對該院的監管科學研究表示讚許。

會議設兩個專題,分別由研究院指導委員會委員楊子峰和學術委員會副主任唐健元主持。研究院代副院長趙永華匯報了研究院2022年在國家技術轉移示範機構、項目轉化、監管科學、研究交流等方面的工作進展,以及2023年的工作規劃。與會專家充分肯定了研究院在過去一年的進展和成果,同時對研究院下一步工作提出一系列指導性建議。

研究院指導委員會主席暨學術委員會主任鍾南山對研究院2022年工作予以高度認可,並就後續工作提出兩點建議。第一,傾盡各方力量,爭取國家技術轉移示範機構落地;國家技術轉移示範機構落地,澳門具有很大的地域優勢,希望各部門牢牢抓住國家對澳門的戰略部署和資源傾斜。第二,以點帶面,優選一至兩個具體中藥品種入手,聯合國家藥品監督管理局、廣東省藥品監督管理局、澳門藥監局及香港衛生署共同解決目前中藥審評審批政策問題;此外,粵港澳學術界、產業界和監管機構聯合發展,制定大灣區中藥統一標準,力爭未來實現“一研三報”,互認互通。

隨後,與會學術委員共同審議並通過《澳門大學澳門轉化醫學創新研究院開放課題管理辦法》及《2023年度澳門大學澳門轉化醫學創新研究院開放課題申報指南》兩個文件。

UM MITMI holds committee meeting

The Steering Committee and the Academic Committee of the Macau Institute for Translational Medicine and Innovation (MITMI) of the University of Macau (UM) recently held their second meeting in Guangzhou and Macao, which combined both online and in-person elements. Experts participating in the meeting comprehensively evaluated MITMI’s recent development, spoke highly of its development direction, and recognised its achievements in regulatory science research.

The meeting featured two panel discussions, chaired by Yang Zifeng, member of the MITMI Steering Committee, and Tang Jianyuan, deputy director of the MITMI Academic Committee, respectively. Zhao Yonghua, interim associate head of MITMI, presented the work progress of the institute in 2022 in the application of a national technology transfer demonstration institution in Macao, project translation, regulatory science, research and exchanges, as well as the work plan for 2023. The participating experts fully recognised MITMI’s development and achievements over the past year and provided a series of suggestions for the institute’s future work.

Zhong Nanshan, president of the MITMI Steering Committee and director of the MITMI Academic Committee, spoke highly of the institute’s achievements in 2022 and made two suggestions. Firstly, MITMI should make every effort for the application of a national technology transfer demonstration institution in Macao. Macao has a great geographical advantage, which is conducive to the establishment of a national technology transfer demonstration institution. It is hoped that all parties will leverage the strategic planning and resources provided by the country for Macao. Secondly, MITMI should promote work in all areas by drawing upon the experience gained on key points. By selecting one or two traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the institute can work with the National Medical Products Administration, the Guangdong Medical Products Administration, the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau of Macao, and the Department of Health of Hong Kong to address issues related to the current TCM evaluation and approval regulation. In addition, the academia, industry, and regulatory bodies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao should consider working together to formulate common standards for TCM in the Greater Bay Area in order to achieve mutual recognition and communication.

The MITMI Academic Committee members then reviewed and approved the Regulations for Open Research Projects Management of the Macau Institute for Translational Medicine and Innovation of the University of Macau, as well as the Application Guidelines for Open Research Projects of the Macau Institute for Translational Medicine and Innovation of the University of Macau in 2023.

珠海澳大科技研究院舉辦第二期“天沐河沙龍”成果轉化及投融資分享會,為投融資雙方搭建橋樑,推進技術要素與資本要素融合發展,驅動科技創新創業,助力澳大成果轉移轉化落地。

會上,橫琴粵澳深度合作區金融發展局局長池騰輝強調科技創新與金融、產業融合的重要性。他表示,創新發展是推動社會進步和經濟發展的關鍵引擎,金融發展局將持續支持珠研院打造技術創新與轉化中心,助力合作區高質量發展。

此外,澳大副教授劉子銘的“重症監測用血液熒光儀研發及臨床應用”、副教授賈豔偉的“癌症精準醫療藥物篩選平台研發及臨床應用”、教授陳國凱的“多能幹細胞來源的人皮膚角質細胞體外分化技術開發及應用”和副教授孫國星的“高性能吸水樹脂在土壤保水和混凝土養護中的應用”通過路演展示了科研成果轉化的巨大潛力,引發與會者的積極討論,投資嘉賓針對專利技術、市場佈局、商業模式等方面提出相關專業問題並給出建議。

The Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute (ZUMRI) held the second ‘Tinmuk Salon’ research results transfer and investment and financing sharing session, with the aim of building a bridge between investment and financing, promoting the integration of technology and capital, driving technological innovation and entrepreneurship, and contributing to the commercialisation of UM’s research results. At the event, Chi Tenghui, director of the Financial Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin; Chui Tinyol, president of directors of Macau Industry-University-Research Collaboration Association; and Wang Chunming, interim director of the Research Services and Knowledge Transfer Office and deputy director of ZUMRI, delivered a speech, respectively. During the roundtable discussion, representatives from the industry and higher education institutions discussed topics such as the investment and financing for the commercialisation of research results, experiences and suggestions on investing and financing research results in universities, and risks and challenges of entrepreneurship for scientists.

澳大辦科技研討會及本科畢業設計展

澳門大學科技學院舉辦第二屆科技研討會及本科生畢業設計項目展覽,共同探討前沿科技議題及跨學科應用。是次活動展出多組應屆畢業生的科研作品及成果,吸引逾百名業界代表、企業管理層、政府人員、教授及學生參觀。

澳大科技學院院長須成忠致辭時表示,學院一直致力於創新科技,並重視跨學科研究;透過舉辦研討會可促進交流,同時激發創新性思維,為社會發展的需求提供更多跨學科合作的機會;此外,學院多年來舉辦的畢業設計項目展覽成功把課堂上的研究成果應用於產業中,同時擴大了企業與澳門院校的合作;未來,學院將繼續推動科技成果的產業化,提升產學研合作的效益,並積極培育專業人才。他期望能為澳門乃至全球社會帶來具有影響力的專才及研究成果,以創造對科研創新有利的發展環境。

研討會上,不同領域的學者分享了其豐碩的科研成果,當中包括華為語音語義首席科學家劉群。研討會內容涵蓋自動駕駛、大語言模型、認知腦科學、無線通信、多媒體取證、安全等多個領域,當中一些成果以海報形式展出,使得研討會的主題更豐盛,為推動跨學科研究文化提供了基礎。研討會更頒發首屆“博士生研究卓越獎”及“最佳海報獎”,以鼓勵表現傑出的博士生。

此外,畢業設計項目展覽展出了30組應屆本科畢業生的科研作品及成果,並且有41名土木及環境工程系、電腦及資訊科學系、電機及電腦工程系、機電工程系、數學系和物理及化學系的優秀學生獲得嘉許。這些作品涵蓋包括海洋監測、文物保育、電腦圖學與視覺計算、健康監測、建築設計、無線充電及人工智能等多個領域。是次展覽讓業界能夠充分欣賞學生的創意,發現他們的才能,並為大眾設計提供便利生活及應對社會發展需求的作品。

UM’s FST holds FST Symposium and final year project exhibition

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of the University of Macau (UM) recently held the second FST Symposium and the Dean’s Final Year Project List Presentation Ceremony and Project Exhibition. The event showcased the research projects and results of a number of graduating students and attracted over 100 industry practitioners, management team members of enterprises, government officials, professors, and students.

In his speech, Xu Chengzhong, dean of the FST, said that the faculty has always been committed to innovation and interdisciplinary research. By holding symposiums, FST facilitates exchanges and stimulates innovative thinking, providing more opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations to address social development needs. He added that the final year project exhibitions organised by the FST over the years have successfully applied research results in classrooms to the industry, while promoting the collaboration between enterprises and universities in Macao. FST will continue to promote the commercialisation of research results, enhance the effectiveness of industry-academia collaboration, and actively cultivate professionals. He expressed hope that in such a way, the faculty will bring influential professionals and research results to Macao and the global community, in order to create an environment that is conducive to research and innovation.

At the symposium, scholars from different fields shared their fruitful research results, including Liu Qun, chief scientist of Speech and Language Computing at Huawei. The symposium covered many different fields, including autonomous driving, large language model, cognitive and brain science, wireless communication, and multimedia forensics and security. Some of the research results were exhibited in the form of posters, which enriched the content of the symposium. The Research Excellence Award for PhD Students and the Best Poster Award were also presented to encourage outstanding doctoral students.

In addition, the final year project exhibition showcased 30 research projects and results from graduating students. 41 outstanding students from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Department of Computer and Information Science, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Department of Mathematics and Department of Physics and Chemistry were awarded for their projects. These projects covered various fields, including marine monitoring, cultural heritage conservation, computer graphics and visual computing, health monitoring, architectural design, wireless charging, and artificial intelligence. The exhibition allowed the industry to appreciate the creativity of the students, discover their strengths, and design products that can make life easier and meet the needs of society.

澳大校長宋永華獲全國創新爭先獎

國家人力資源社會保障部、中國科協、科技部、國務院國資委今(30)日在北京舉辦“慶祝全國科技工作者日暨全國創新爭先獎表彰大會”。澳門大學校長宋永華榮獲第三屆全國創新爭先獎,以表彰他在科技社會服務領域作出的傑出貢獻。他也是今屆大會澳門地區唯一獲此殊榮的科技工作者。

宋永華積極服務澳門特區創新發展,在人才培養、科學普及、決策諮詢、開放合作、科技創新、成果轉化等領域作出突出貢獻。他主持改革澳門大學住宿式書院全人教育體系,創建澳門首批“全國科普教育基地”,培養愛國愛澳創新人才;長期擔任澳門特區政府科技委員會顧問,主持澳門多個重大科技決策專項,助力澳門智慧城市建設;倡議成立“中國與葡語國家海洋研究聯盟”等科技聯盟,推動國際科技合作;領銜建設智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室,主持建立澳門在粵港澳大灣區的首個產學研示範基地,承擔澳門首個能源領域重點研發專項,推動澳門科創融入國家發展大局。曾獲國家科技進步二等獎、何梁何利科學與技術進步獎、光華工程科技獎等。

全國創新爭先獎由國家人力資源社會保障部、中國科協、科技部、國務院國資委於2017年共同設立,每三年評選一次,表彰在基礎研究和前沿探索、重大裝備和工程攻關、成果轉化和創新創業、社會服務等方面作出突出貢獻的集體和個人。全國創新爭先獎是繼國家自然科學獎、國家技術發明獎、國家科學技術進步獎之後,中國批准設立的又一個重要的科技獎項,是國家科技獎勵體系的重要組成部分和補充,是國家科技獎項與重大人才計劃的有機銜接,是僅次於國家最高科技獎的一個科技人才大獎。

UM Rector Yonghua Song receives National Innovation Excellence Award

The Celebration of the National Science and Technology Workers’ Day and National Innovation Excellence Award Ceremony, co-organised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, was held in Beijing today (30 May). At the event, Yonghua Song, rector of the University of Macau (UM), was honoured with the Third National Innovation Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to science and technology and social services. He is also the only scientist from Macao to receive the award this year.

Song has played an active role in driving the development of innovation in the Macao SAR and has made remarkable contributions to talent development, science popularisation, decision-making consultation, opening up and collaboration, technological innovation, and commercialisation of research results. Under his leadership, significant reforms have been implemented in the whole-person education system of UM’s residential colleges. He also spearheaded the establishment of the first national science education base in Macao, as well as the training of patriotic and innovative talent. Song has long served as an advisor to the Macao SAR government’s Science and Technology Committee, leading several major science and technology decision-making projects and contributing to Macao’s smart city development. His advocacy efforts include the establishment of the China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Ocean Research Alliance and other science and technology alliances, which helps promote international cooperation in science and technology. In addition, Song led the establishment of the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, and oversaw the establishment of Macao’s first industry-academia demonstration base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He also undertook Macao’s first key research and development project in the energy sector, facilitating the integration of Macao’s technological innovation into national development. Song has received awards such as a second prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, and the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award.

The National Innovation Excellence Award was jointly established in 2017 by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The award is presented every three years to acknowledge collectives and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in areas such as fundamental research and cutting-edge exploration, major equipment and engineering breakthroughs, achievements in research results transfer and innovation and entrepreneurship, and social services. The National Innovation Excellence Award is another major science and technology award in China, following the National Natural Science Award, the National Technology Invention Award, and the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. It is an important component of the national science and technology award system, and serves as an organic link between the award and major talent programmes in the country. It is a prominent accolade in the field of science and technology, second only to the Highest Science and Technology Award.

粵港澳高校能源科學與技術專業聯盟正式運行

為響應國家和粵港澳地區能源專業發展需求,支援粵港澳大灣區建設成為國際科技創新中心與國際教育示範區,澳門大學、南方科技大學、香港科技大學和中山大學在粵港澳高校聯盟框架下,聯合發起成立粵港澳高校能源科學與技術專業聯盟,並於今(29)日在澳大舉行聯盟簽約儀式暨粵港澳高校碳中和能源論壇,標誌著聯盟正式運行。

澳大應用物理及材料工程研究院院長、講座教授湯子康,中國科學院院士、南方科技大學碳中和能源研究院院長、講席教授趙天壽,香港科技大學高分子成型過程及系統中心主任、講座教授高福榮,中山大學先進能源學院院長、國家級特聘教授姚向東共同簽署聯盟成立協議。澳門中聯辦教育與青年工作部副部長石書正,澳門教育及青年發展局教育研究及規劃廳代副局長黃健武,澳大校長宋永華,南方科技大學副校長金李和中國科學院院士、西安交通大學教授、中山大學工學部主任郭烈錦見證簽約儀式。

宋永華在致辭中表示,澳大始終積極回應“雙碳”戰略目標,在能源科學與技術領域的學術研究與人才培養等方面均開展了系統性的佈局和長期深入的工作;同時,澳大一直以來高度重視與南方科技大學、香港科技大學、中山大學的合作,希望藉著是次簽署協議,將聯盟打造成粵港澳大灣區高端能源科技人才思想碰撞與共同成長的重要平台、前沿能源科技研發與轉化的重要策源地,帶動粵港澳三地乃至全國能源行業的創新發展,助力國家“雙碳”目標成功實現。

“粵港澳高校碳中和能源論壇”由湯子康主持,圍繞能源科學與技術、低碳減排等領域。郭烈錦、趙天壽、高福榮以及多位高校專家學者發表主題演講並展開深入交流和討論。郭烈錦就“雙碳目標下——煤炭先進轉化利用技術及產業的發展方向”為題進行演講,探討以煤炭為代表的傳統能源清潔化利用對提高能源利用效率與減碳減排的重要意義,並分享了煤炭超臨界水氣化熱電聯產等相關技術應用以及未來煤炭產業的發展重點與對策建議。趙天壽針對可再生能源利用中的大規模儲能瓶頸問題,就高效、安全、可升級和推廣的液體可再生燃料存儲技術做了“Storing Solar Energy with E-fuels”的主旨報告,強調儲能系統在新能源電力系統應用中的重要地位。高福榮以“電池管理系統前沿技術簡介”為主題,分享了電池荷電狀態與健康狀態估計、電池資料壓縮和重構等電池智慧管理技術。

分論壇報告上,澳門大學、南方科技大學、香港科技大學和中山大學的多位相關研究人員也分別就各自研究領域進行了主題演講與分享。論壇還設問答及交流環節,眾多參會者踴躍提問,與主講嘉賓們進行了深入交流。

Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Energy Science and Technology Alliance officially established

To respond to the development needs of China, as well as regions such as Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in energy-related professions, and to help the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area become an international technology and innovation centre and an international education demonstration zone, the University of Macau (UM), the Southern University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Sun Yat-sen University jointly initiated the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Energy Science and Technology Alliance under the framework of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance. The signing ceremony and the Carbon Neutral Energy Forum for Universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao were held today (29 May) at UM, marking the official establishment of the alliance.

At the signing ceremony of the alliance, Tang Zikang, director of the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering at UM; Zhao Tianshou, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the Energy Institute for Carbon Neutrality at the Southern University of Science and Technology; Gao Furong, director of the Center for Polymer Processing and Systems at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; and Yao Xiangdong, dean of the School of Advanced Energy at Sun Yat-sen University, signed an agreement on the establishment of the alliance. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Shi Shuzheng, deputy director of the Education and Youth Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Wong Kin Mou, acting deputy director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao; Yonghua Song, rector of UM; Jin Li, vice president of the Southern University of Science and Technology; and Guo Liejin, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University, and director of the engineering department at Sun Yat-sen University.

In his speech, Song said that UM is committed to the national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and has a systematic layout and has made sustained effort in academic research and talent development in the field of energy science and technology. At the same time, the university has attached great importance to cooperation with the Southern University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Sun Yat-sen University. He expressed hope that, with the signing of the agreement, the alliance will become an important platform for the exchange of ideas and the growth of top talent in energy science and technology in the Greater Bay Area, as well as a cradle of cutting-edge energy technology research and development and research results transfer in the region, so as to drive the innovative development of the energy industry in the Greater Bay Area, and even the whole country, and to help realise the national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

The Carbon Neutral Energy Forum for Universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao was moderated by Tang Zikang. The forum focused on areas such as energy science and technology, and carbon emissions reduction. In the forum, Guo Liejin, Zhao Tianshou, Gao Furong, and other experts and scholars from higher education institutions gave keynote speeches and led in-depth discussions. Guo gave a speech on the topic of ‘Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals – Development Direction of Advanced Coal Conversion Technology and Industry’, exploring the importance of the clean use of traditional energy sources represented by coal to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. He also shared his views on the application of coal supercritical water gasification cogeneration and other related technologies, as well as the future development directions of the coal industry and suggestions for countermeasures. Focusing on the bottleneck of large-scale energy storage in renewable energy utilization, Zhao gave a keynote speech on ‘Storing Solar Energy with E-fuels’ to discuss efficient, safe, scalable renewable liquid fuel storage technologies and emphasise the importance of energy storage systems in the application of new energy power systems. Gao, with the topic of ‘Introduction of Battery Management System Frontier Technologies’, shared intelligent battery management technologies, such as battery charge status and health status estimation, and battery data compression and reconstruction.

During the forum, a number of researchers from UM, the Southern University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Sun Yat-sen University also gave presentations and shared their research achievements. In addition, there were question-and-answer sessions and discussion sessions, where many participants seized the opportunity to ask questions and have in-depth discussions with the keynote speakers.

澳大與歐洲知名高校落實多項合作

澳門大學校長宋永華率團訪問歐洲多所一流高校,探討及落實多項合作計劃,並與葡萄牙頂尖高校科英布拉大學及波爾圖大學簽署戰略合作協議,進一步加強澳大與歐洲高校的科教合作和交流。

宋永華表示,澳大始終秉持“立足澳門、共建灣區、融入國家、走向世界”的理念,是次訪問為拓展與全球一流大學的學術交流和合作取得了階段性成果和進展。這些工作不僅提升了澳大的學術水平和國際影響力,也爲澳門特區適度多元發展提供國際化人才支撐。未來,澳大將加强與國際頂尖高校和科研機構的合作,提升研究實力和辦學水平,為澳門的發展乃至大灣區打造國際教育示範區的建設做出貢獻。

宋永華一行隨澳門特別行政區政府社會文化司司長歐陽瑜和其他特區政府代表訪問科英布拉大學。雙方首先進行禮節性會面,討論如何深化澳門與葡萄牙在高等教育及科研領域的合作關係。其後,在歐陽瑜司長的見證下,澳大與科英布拉大學簽署雙方戰略合作框架協議;同時澳大、科英布拉大學和中國人民大學簽署三方合作備忘錄。

是次簽署協議,澳大和科英布拉大學的合作關係正式提升至戰略合作夥伴,兩校將深化在人工智能與機器人、腦科學、法學、工商管理、國際關係等重點領域的科教合作,並促進教師交流、聯合申請項目資助以及舉辦學術講座和研討會。此外,根據澳大—科英布拉大學—中國人民大學合作備忘錄,三方將在法學、文學等重點領域開展聯合研究、師生交換、聯合講座、學術交流會議等多方面的合作。

簽署儀式後,澳大副校長馬許願分別向與會嘉賓介紹“中國澳門特別行政區與葡語國家學術圖書館聯盟"的建設、首屆“漢語和葡語國際論壇"的籌備情況以及葡語法律著作翻譯和出版項目的工作成果。同時,馬許願亦介紹了兩校在腦科學、人工智能與機器人科學研究等領域的聯合人才培養和創新性跨學科研究合作計劃。代表團一行還參觀了葡萄牙最負盛名的Joanina 圖書館,了解科英布拉大學的悠久歷史文化背景。

澳大代表團還訪問了波爾圖大學,獲該校代校長José Castro Lopes等熱情接待。雙方簽署了戰略合作框架協議和學生交換協議,提升兩校合作關係至戰略級並繼續推動學生交換。未來,兩校將聚焦藥學、法學、葡語等重點領域,加強聯合人才培養、科研合作和師生交流。簽署儀式後,代表團參觀了波爾圖大學健康研究與創新研究所(i3S),了解該校在藥物遞送和腫瘤等研究領域的最新進展,並就藥物科學領域的科研合作進行了深入的探討。在波爾圖期間,宋永華還與正在波爾圖大學交流學習的澳大學生代表見面,了解他們在葡生活及學習情況。

除葡萄牙高校外,澳大代表團亦訪問了西班牙巴塞隆拿、德國柏林和德累斯頓的頂尖高等院校,積極推進澳大與歐洲高校的科教交流合作,拓展大學的國際合作網絡,並分享高等教育發展的經驗。

在巴塞隆拿大學,代表團獲該校校長Joan Guàrdia Olmos等熱情接待。雙方深入探討並就學生交換和聯合科研項目等具體合作計劃達成一致。代表團亦訪問了巴塞隆拿自治大學以及加泰羅尼亞理工大學,與各校代表進行座談交流,就開展學術交流、科研合作、人才培養等方面進行了深入討論。

在德國,代表團先後訪問德國德累斯頓工業大學和柏林工業大學,分別就生物材料和智慧能源領域的聯合人才培養和合作研究進行了深入交流並達成了合作意向。此外,代表團在柏林期間亦拜會了中國駐德國大使吳懇和教育公參黄偉。宋永華向他們介紹了澳大的發展概況、國際化戰略佈局,以及與德國院校的合作情況和展望。吳懇高度評價澳大的發展,並表示大使館將全力支持澳大與德國高校拓展合作及交流。

UM and European universities agree on various cooperation initiatives

Yonghua Song, rector of the University of Macau (UM), led a delegation to visit leading higher education institutions in Europe to explore collaboration in teaching and research. During these visits, Song also signed strategic cooperation agreements with the University of Coimbra and the University of Porto in Portugal to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in research and education with European universities.

According to Song, UM is committed to the development orientation of ‘being rooted in Macao, taking part in the development of the Greater Bay Area, integrating into the nation, and going international’. The visit achieved initial progress in expanding academic exchanges and cooperation with the world’s leading universities. These efforts have not only strengthened the university’s academic standing and international influence, but have also supported Macao’s economic diversification through international talent development. In the future, UM will strengthen its cooperation with top higher education institutions and research institutions, enhance its research capacity and teaching quality, and contribute to the development of Macao and the establishment of an international education demonstration zone in the Greater Bay Area.

Song accompanied Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ao Ieong U and other representatives of the Macao SAR government in their visit to the University of Coimbra. The two parties discussed ways of deepening cooperation between Macao and Portugal in the fields of higher education and research. In the presence of Ao Ieong U, UM signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the University of Coimbra, as well as a tripartite memorandum of understanding with the University of Coimbra and the Renmin University of China.

With the signing of the agreement, UM and the University of Coimbra elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership. The two universities will deepen their research and academic collaboration in key areas such as artificial intelligence and robotics, brain science, law, business, and international relations; facilitate faculty exchanges; jointly apply for project funding and host academic lectures and conferences. In addition, under the tripartite memorandum of understanding, the three universities will focus on key areas such as law and literature to conduct collaborative research, facilitate student and faculty exchanges, and host seminars and academic exchange meetings.

After the signing ceremony, UM Vice Rector Rui Martins introduced the latest developments of the Academic Library Alliance between Macao Special Administrative Region (China) and the Portuguese Speaking Countries, the preparations for the First International Forum on Chinese and Portuguese Languages, and the results of the translation and publication of Portuguese legal classics. Martins also gave an introduction to the collaborations between the two universities in talent development and innovative interdisciplinary research, which focus on the fields of brain science, as well as artificial intelligence and robotics. In addition, the delegation visited the Joanina Library, one of the most important libraries in Portugal, to learn more about the long history of the University of Coimbra.

The UM delegation also visited the University of Porto and was warmly received by José Castro Lopes, acting rector of the university. The two parties signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement and a student exchange agreement in order to elevate their partnership to a strategic level and further promote student exchanges. In the future, the two universities will focus on key areas such as medicine, law, and Portuguese to strengthen collaborations in talent development, research, and student and faculty exchanges. After the signing ceremony, the delegation visited the University of Porto’s Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S) to discuss research collaboration in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and learn about the institute’s latest advances in research into drug delivery and oncology. In Porto, Song also met with UM exchange student representatives studying at the University of Porto to know more about their life in Portugal.

In addition to Portuguese universities, the UM delegation also visited leading higher education institutions in Barcelona in Spain, as well as Berlin and Dresden in Germany, to promote exchanges and collaborations in research and education, expand the university’s international network, and share experience in higher education development.

At the University of Barcelona, the delegation was warmly received by Joan Guàrdia Olmos, rector of the university. The two parties had an in-depth discussion and agreed on cooperation initiatives such as student exchange programmes and collaborative research. The delegation also visited the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya to discuss potential collaboration on academic exchanges, research collaboration, and talent development.

In Germany, the delegation visited Technische Universität Dresden and Technische Universität Berlin, where they held in-depth discussions and agreed on cooperation initiatives in talent development and research in the fields of biomaterials and smart energy, respectively. In addition, the delegation members also met with Wu Ken, Chinese ambassador to Germany, and Huang Wei, minister counsellor for education affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Germany. During the meeting, Song introduced UM’s development, its international strategic layout, as well as the current situation and prospects of cooperation between UM and German education institutions. Wu praised UM’s development and expressed the embassy’s full support for the university’s cooperation and exchanges with German universities.

The delegation also included Wang Ruibing, director of the Global Affairs Office.
