Following the successful dinner gathering for the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at Choi Kai Yau College in September, the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) gathering was held on the evening of November 5th. Six professors from the Faculty of Social Sciences – Prof. Xiangning Wu, Prof. Timothy A. Simpson, Prof. Hongyu Wang, Prof. Fung Kwan, Prof. Weiwen Yin, and Prof. Tieyuan Guo – had dinner with 30 students from five majors within the Faculty. Prof. Janny Leung, Master of CKYC, delivered the opening speech, welcoming and thanking the guests.

During the FSS night, students majoring in the same disciplines sat at round tables with their professors. This arrangement not only enhanced academic discussions but also fostered connections between different majors. Professors and students engaged in in-depth discussions on curriculum arrangements, learning methods, career development, and current social issues. Professors responded enthusiastically to students’ questions and provided personalized development plans based on individual strengths.

Additionally, senior students shared detailed insights into each professional course, explained learning skills and experiences, and emphasized the importance of research, internships, and other “soft skills” enhancements to the freshmen.

After the event, participants expressed that the dinner was highly beneficial. Many freshmen mentioned that they now have a clearer understanding of their future learning and development plans. The experiences shared by professors and senior students helped alleviate the confusion and anxiety they felt upon entering the University.

自9月份蔡繼有書院首場工商管理學院（FBA）聚會順利舉辦之後，11月5日晚上的社會科學學院（FSS）聚會也如期舉行。六位來自社會科學學院的教授——吳湘寧教授、Timothy A. Simpson教授、王紅宇教授、關鋒教授、尹偉文教授以及郭鐵元教授——與來自社會科學學院五個專業的30名院生共進晚餐。書院院長梁美兒教授致開幕詞，對到訪的來賓表示歡迎和衷心的感謝。

晚宴中，相近或類似學科專業的同學與其教授一同被安排在了一張圓桌，這種精心的設計不僅增進了學術化的話題交流，而且促成了學科之間的融合思辨。教授與同學們一起，圍繞著課程安排、學習方法、職業發展以及當今社會局勢和現象展開了深入的討論。教授們熱情地對同學們的問題作出回應，並根據同學的個人優勢給予個性化的發展方案。

與此同時，高年級學長學姐作為「引路人」，深入到每一節專業課程的具體内容，細緻地為學弟學妹講解學習技巧和心得體會，也積極向新生普及科研、實習以及其他「軟實力」背景提升的重要性。

活動結束後，與會者紛紛表示此次晚宴收穫頗豐。不少新生表示對未來的學習和發展規劃有了更清晰的認知，教授和專業學長學姐所傳授的經驗也成爲了他們擺脫入學時迷茫焦慮的良好助力。

This year’s “Development of City and Culture Exchange Program” was held at Fengru College, Beihang University, from September 28th to October 2nd, 2024. Launched in 2019, this initiative is a collaboration among Choi Kai Yau College (University of Macau), Meng Xiancheng College (East China Normal University), Chongshi College (Xi’an Jiaotong University), and Fengru College (Beihang University). Every year, students and teachers from these institutions visit Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, and Macau to exchange culture and knowledge.

The program delves into the cultural essence of these cities, allowing participants to immerse themselves in local atmospheres and enhancing their cultural literacy and exchange skills. Through mutual visits and social activities, it aims to instill patriotism, a global perspective, and a commitment to promoting Chinese traditional culture.

The group arrived in Beijing and received a warm welcome from hosts. The following day featured an opening ceremony, a themed salon, and visited the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. The program also included educational tours, starting with Beihang University’s Shahe campus and the Center for Micro-Nano Innovation, where participants learned about cutting-edge research and technology. Students were divided into groups to explore Beijing’s cultural heritage, with visits to the China National Arts and Crafts Museum, Yuanmingyuan, the Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Olympic Forest Park, the Bird’s Nest, and the Water Cube. The closing ceremony featured presentations from three groups—The Humanistic Beijing, The Ancient Beijing, and The Nature Beijing. Staff representatives from each college provided feedback on the students’ presentation, and encouraging continued patriotic enthusiasm and the fostering of friendships among the four colleges.

The program concluded with heartfelt farewells, and students departed with a deeper understanding of Beijing’s cultural legacy and a renewed commitment to promoting Chinese traditional culture.

2024年「城市與文化發展」書院互訪計劃第三站, 於9月28至10月2日在北京航空航天大學馮如書院舉行。該計劃自2019年啟動，由澳門大學蔡繼有書院、華東師範大學孟憲承書院、西安交通大學崇實書院、北京航空航天大學馮如書院聯合舉辦。四地書院的師生們每年會輪流到北京、西安、上海、澳門進行深度參訪與交流。項目以探尋四地城市文化為主題，引導學生感受不同城市、不同地域的文化氛圍，提高文化素養和學習交流能力。並透過四地互訪、社會實踐活動，培養同學具有家國情懷和國際視野，傳承弘揚優秀中國傳統文化。

團隊抵達北京後，受到了主辦方的熱情歡迎。隨後舉行了開幕式和主題沙龍，並參觀了慕田峪長城。行程還包括一系列教育機構參訪活動, 參與者前往北京航空航天大學的沙河校區和微納創新中心，深入了解尖端研究和技術。期後學生們被分成小組，探索北京的文化遺產，參觀了中國國家工藝美術博物館、798藝術區、圓明園、頤和園、天安門廣場、故宮、奧林匹克森林公園、鳥巢和水立方等。在閉幕式上，三個小組(人文北京、中軸北京和自然北京) 分享小組學習成果。各書院教師代表也對學員展示進行點評, 對學生收穫友誼、活動圓滿成功的由衷欣慰，對四校締結情誼、持續發展進步的深切希望，對學員永葆愛國熱情、實現自我價值的真摯祝福。

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Choi Kai Yau College, the college organized a soccer game and a three-on-three basketball game. These events attracted many alumni to return and participate in this grand celebration with the students. Through these sports competitions, not only was there an enhancement of mutual understanding between the alumni and the students, but also a deep friendship was forged among them during the games. These activities not only strengthened the connections among the alumni but also allowed the students to feel the warmth of the college’s big family.

The alumni highly praised this event. One alumnus who participated in the soccer game said, “This soccer game reminded me of the little moments I experienced at the college. Running on the field with the juniors made me feel much younger.” He also mentioned that such activities not only tighten the connections among alumni but also provide them with the opportunity to pass on their experiences to the students.

Another alumnus, who graduated years ago, shared his feelings after the basketball game, “Returning to the college and participating in the competition with the students allowed me to feel the vitality and warmth of the college. This kind of activity is a continuation of the college’s spirit and is part of our shared memories.”

The college also stated that these activities not only celebrated the college’s tenth birthday but also provided an opportunity to showcase the college’s philosophy of ‘holistic education.’ The college hopes that through such interactive activities, there can be more interaction between students and alumni, creating more memories together. This 10th-anniversary celebration is not only a celebration of the past ten years but also a look forward to the future. Choi Kai Yau College will continue to adhere to the concept of cultivating students’ comprehensive development, providing students with more diverse learning and growth opportunities.

適逢蔡繼有書院成立10周年，書院舉辦了五人足球賽和三打三籃球賽，活動吸引了眾多院友歸來，與院生共同參與這一盛事。通過這些運動賽事，不僅增進了校友與院生的相互了解，也讓他們在球賽中結下了深厚的友誼。這些活動不僅增強了院友之間的聯繫，也讓院生們感受到了書院大家庭的溫暖。

校友們對這次活動給予了高度評價。一位參與足球賽的龔校友表示：“這次的足球比賽讓我回想起了在書院的點點滴滴，與學弟們一起在場上奔跑，感覺自己又年輕了許多。” 他還提到，這種活動不僅讓校友之間的聯繫更加緊密，也讓他們有機會將自己的經驗傳承給年輕的院生。

另一位畢業多年的林校友則在籃球賽後分享了他的感受：“回到書院，與院生們一起參加比賽，讓我感受到了書院的活力和溫暖。這種活動是書院精神的傳承，也是我們共同回憶的一部分。”

書院方面也表示，這些活動不僅慶祝了書院的十周歲，更是展現了書院“全人教育”理念的機會。書院希望通過這樣的交流活動，讓院生和校友之間能夠有更多的互動，共同創造更多的回憶。這次的10周年慶典，不僅是對過去十年的慶祝，也是對未來的展望。蔡繼有書院將繼續秉持著培養學生全面發展的理念，為學生提供更多元的學習與成長機會。

To enhance learning support for college freshmen, CKYC launched a monthly dinner gathering. This event is designed to bring together college Fellows, senior students, and freshmen from each faculty to share experiences and insights on various topics, including course content, study plans, summer research opportunities, exchange programs, and selecting majors or directions in the second or third year.

On the evening of 12 September, in the W31-G053, the College hosted the inaugural faculty gathering for the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA). Four College Fellows—Prof. Raymond Loi, Prof. Jennifer Lai, Prof. Chanthika Pornpitakpan, and Prof. Simon Wu—participated in the dinner with 36 FBA students from all five majors within the Faculty. The College Master, Prof. Janny Leung, delivered opening remarks to welcome the Fellows and students.

During the dinner, students sat with professors from their respective majors and engaged in meaningful conversations about their fields of study and other shared experiences. Upperclassmen also provided valuable advice to freshmen on applying for summer research opportunities, exchange programs, and organizing their study plans.

The event was well-received, and all attendees enjoyed the dinner immensely.

9月12日晚上，蔡繼有書院在W31-G053舉辦了首場工商管理學院（FBA）聚會。四位來自工商管理學院的非駐院導師——雷智豪教授、黎婉雯教授、Chanthika Pornpitakpan教授和胡玉均教授——與來自工商管理學院五個專業的36名學生共進晚餐。書院院長梁美兒教授致開幕詞，歡迎導師和學生們的到來。

晚宴中，精心設計的座位安排讓新生們得以與自己專業的教授面對面交流，圍繞課程內容、學習策略、未來規劃等話題展開了深入而富有成效的對話。教授們不僅分享了專業領域的前沿動態，更以過來人的身份，為新生們提供了寶貴的人生導航。

與此同時，高年級學長學姐作為“引路人”，也積極向新生傳授了申請暑期研究、參與國際交流項目、高效管理學習時間的實用技巧與心得，現場氣氛熱烈而溫馨。

活動結束後，與會者紛紛表示此次晚宴收穫頗豐。新生們對即將到來的大學生活充滿了更加明確的憧憬與信心，而導師與學長學姐的悉心指導與鼓勵，更是為他們的學術之旅點亮了第一盞明燈。

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Macao SAR, Moon Chun Memorial College and Choi Kai Yau College co-organized a music appreciation lecture titled “MCMC x CKYC Musicales – Yellow River Cantata Music Appreciation lecture” on September 23, 2024 (Monday).

The guest speaker of the lecture is Dr. Zhou Zidong, Associate Professor of Wuhan Conservatory of Music. Professor Zhou introduced the “Yellow River Cantata” in different aspects, including the historical background, composing and performing details, musical structure and style, and different versions. Apart from the “Yellow River Cantata,” Professor Zhou also discussed other repertoires of the Sino-Japanese War, such as the patriotic song “Mayflower” (music by Guang Weiran; lyrics by Yan Shushi), the “Yellow River Piano Concerto” (arranged by Yin Chengzong and Chu Wanghua), and analyzed the passionate and patriotic elements in the musical works.

為慶祝中華人民共和國成立75周年和澳門特別行政區成立25周年，滿珍紀念書院與蔡繼有書院於2024年9月23日（星期一）晚上8時合辦黃河大合唱音樂欣賞講座。

是次講座由武漢音樂學院周紫東副教授主講，向觀眾介紹抗日戰爭時期的救亡歌曲《黃河大合唱》的歷史背景、創作及演出過程、作品組成、音樂風格及創作版本。除《黃河大合唱》以外，周紫東教授亦介紹了抗戰歌曲《五月的鮮花》 (詞：光未然、曲：閻述詩)、改編自《黃河大合唱》的《黃河鋼琴協奏曲》(曲：殷承宗、儲望華等)，並分析音樂作品中呈示的激烈情感及愛國情懷。
