CCE and BRTC co-organise a training course on Business and Management for students of Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and the Business Research and Training Centre of UM’s Faculty of Business Administration (BRTC) jointly held a training course on Business and Management for 39 students from Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology during May 6 to 10. We received positive feedback from students.

The five-day training course consisted of a series of lectures delivered by UM professors. The course covered many themes and gave the students a good understanding of business and management in Macao. Moreover, students joined campus tour and also visited Currency Museum and Thomas Reuters Trading Room in FBA. The students expressed that they gained a lot from the training course.

Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology (GZIST) is a university approved by China’s Ministry of Education (MOE). The school was established in 2000, and was renamed as Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology in 2020. Appraised by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and the Ministry of Education for the status of an independent private-owned non-profit undergraduate college since 2019, GZIST has been offered numerous honors such as “Top Ten Independent Undergraduate Colleges of Guangdong Province” and “Advanced Institution for Employment”.

To strengthen cooperation between UM and universities in the Bay Area, CCE and BRTC are continuing to provide training programs for college students in the future.

CCE collaborated with HKU SPACE to organize a training course on Medicine and Medical Care in Hong Kong and Macao for students from Nanchang University

From February 18th to 22th, the University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) offered the “Training course on Medicine and Medical Care in Hong Kong and Macao” for 48 students from Nanchang University.

The one-week training consisted of a series of special lectures. The students first arrived in Hong Kong, where they attended three workshops on “Health and Medical Services in Hong Kong”, “Infection Control and Response Measures” & “Precision Medicine and its Impact on Medical Education Today” at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and downtown Centre of the University of Hong Kong’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE). Then they joined two workshops on “Clinical Research and Prevention of Parkinson’s Disease and Aging” & “Immune Regulation Mechanism and Tumor Immunotherapy” in UM. Through the training, the students experienced high-quality and characteristic teaching style in both Hong Kong and Macau.

Nanchang University (NCU) is a comprehensive university listed among the “the World First-class Disciplines” in the national “Double First-Class” Initiative of China, the only “211 Project” national key university in Jiangxi Province which is co-constructed by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Province, and the overall construction university of Jiangxi Province high-level universities construction project. The NCU merged with Jiangxi Medical College, Jiangxi University and Jiangxi Industrial University.

CCE will continue to promote cross-city academic exchanges between Hong Kong and Macao, conduct training courses for high-quality mainland universities, and strengthen educational cooperation between mainland universities and UM.

CCE organised a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Study for students from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Study for 20 students from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China during January 28th – 31st.  And 8 students from Changzhou Institute of Technology also joined the training.

The four-day training course is rich in content and taught in English by UM professors. The topics include “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development”, “Fintech & Block chain” and “Crowd Intelligence & Systems Support for Artificial Intelligence”.  Two student representatives expressed their thoughts and remarks at the closing ceremony. They both believed that they gained a lot from this training. They had an understanding of the current development of artificial intelligence in Macao, and the training enriched their experience and vision. They hope to come and study at UM again in the future.

University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) is situated at Chengdu. UESTC became one of the nation’s key universities in 1960. Then, in 1997 it was included as one of the first universities into “Project 211”, a project in China for developing 100 first-class universities and a number of key fields of research for the 21st century. In 2001, UESTC was admitted into the nation’s Project 985, receiving special support for developing world-class universities and world-famous research-oriented universities. In 2017, the University was selected as one of “Double First-class” universities. Sixty years’ efforts and cultivations have witnessed the University turn out to be a key multidisciplinary university with electronic science and technology, well prepared at the call of the history to come up as a high-level research-oriented university.

To strengthen cooperation between mainland key national universities and UM, CCE is continuing to provide training programs in the future.

CCE organised a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for students from Beihang University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for 24 students from Beihang University during January 27th – 29th.

The three-day training course has rich and compact content and taught in English by UM professors and senior instructor. The topics include “Fundamental of Artificial Intelligence: Computer Science & Database Systems”, “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development” and “Crowd Intelligence & Systems Support for Artificial Intelligence”. For the campus tour, the students led by Prof. Ryan U to visit the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City and The Super Intelligent Computing Center. CCE got positive feedback from the students.

Affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Beihang University is the first university specializing in aeronautics and astronautics in New China. Since its founding, Beihang has excelled as one of the first 16 national key universities, one of the first 22 universities to set up graduate schools after the restoration of the degree system in 1980s, and has been included in Project 211, Project 985, and Double First-Class University Plan.

To strengthen cooperation between mainland key national universities and UM, CCE is continuing to provide training programs in the future.

CCE organised a training course on Civil Engineering and Environment for students of Tongren University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised a training course on Civil Engineering and Environment for 26 students of Tongren University during January 22th – 26th.

The five-day training course is rich in content and taught in English by UM professors. The topics include “Foundation of Civil Engineering”, “Soil Mechanics”, “The ‘Life Quadruple’ of Civil Engineering Structures: Aesthetics, Strength, Health and Wisdom”, and “Building a smart city by applying environmental engineering and IoT”. We got positive feedback from the students.

Tongren University is a full-time common undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education on February 14th, 2006. Starting from year 2021, the school will steadily send student groups to UM to participate in short-term training every year.

CCE collaborated with HKU SPACE again to organize an interdisciplinary training program for students from Guangzhou University

From January 22th to 27th, the University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) offered the “Interdisciplinary programme – New Media, Art, Artificial Intelligence and Business Management” for 45 students from Guangzhou University.

The one-week training consisted of a series of special lectures. The students first arrived in Hong Kong, where they attended two workshops on “Cross-cultural New Media and Advertising Marketing” & “Technology Trend in enhancing Business and Finance Management” at downtown Centre of the University of Hong Kong’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE). Then they joined two workshops on “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development” & “Digital Technology Empowers the Contemporary Expansion of Ink Art” in UM. Through the training, the students experienced high-quality distinctive education in both Hong Kong and Macau.

This training is collaborated with HKU SPACE, realizing a cross-city academic exchange between Hong Kong and Macau. It helps to develop continuing education cooperation model in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

Total 77 students joined the training and divided into 2 classes, they are from Changzhou Institute of Technology, Guilin University of Electronic Technology, and Wuhan Institute of Technology.

The five-day training course is rich in content and taught in English by UM professors and senior instructor. The topics include “Fundamental of Artificial Intelligence: Computer Science & Database Systems”, “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development”, “Fintech & Block chain”, and “Crowd Intelligence & Systems Support for Artificial Intelligence”. We got positive feedback from the students.

CCE continues to offer training programmes and promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in mainland.

CCE organised a training course on Business Communication and Leadership for students from Changzhou Institute of Technology, Law & Business College of Hubei University of Economics, and Wuhan Institute of Technology

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised a training course on Business Communication and Leadership for students from universities in mainland during January 22th – 26th. Total 44 students are from Changzhou Institute of Technology, Law & Business College of Hubei University of Economics, and Wuhan Institute of Technology.

The five-day training course is rich in content and taught in English by UM professors. The topics include “Global Strategy and leadership”, “Business Communication Skills for Leaders”, “How to cultivate future leaders of the 21st century”, and “Applied linguistics development and globalization”. We got positive feedback from the students.

CCE continues to offer training programmes and promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in mainland.
