The “2023-2024 Macau University Volleyball Championship” was finished on 21 Apr at Sports Pavilion, UM Sports Complex (N8). It is organized by Macau Universitarian Sports Association, and sponsored by Sports Bureau. University of Macau is the venue supporting unit of this activity. UM Men’s Volleyball Team and Women’s Volleyball Team both won the champion at this competition. This is the tenth consecutive year that women’s team has won the champion, while men’s team has won the fourth straight champion and this is the ninth times in the last ten years.

There were 6 higher education institutions participating in the championship:
City University of Macau (CityU)
Kiang Wu Nursing College (KWNC)
Macao Polytechnic University (MPU)
Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST)
University of Macau (UM)
University of Saint Joseph (USJ)

UM sent a total of 28 students from Men’s Volleyball Team and Women’s Volleyball Team to participate in the competition and the results are as follows:

大專賽可以説是每個學年末的終極目標，經歷了不安、緊張、疲勞、甚至焦慮和傷痛，直到最後一球落地的那一刻，心也依舊是懸著的。比賽的過程是緊張和激烈的，但我們的團隊精神和努力付出也確實得到了回報。感謝球隊裏每一個人的付出，我們一路携手向著目標奮進，我真心地為整個團隊感到驕傲。十年，依然是嶄新的開篇。相信這個冠軍也是我們未來無限可能的開始，激勵著我們更加堅定地追求卓越，超越自我，爲未來的比賽和挑戰做好準備。

我對於能夠作為校隊成員，並在本學年度能夠取得大專賽的冠軍並為澳大男子排球隊在近十年的大專杯中取得第九次的勝利感到十分榮幸、感動，同時也有一種如釋重負的感覺。雖然奪冠的過程存在各種困難，但是球隊每位成員教練都共同積極應對，以致在決賽中以先輸一局的情況下反勝。我認為這個冠軍是在我大學排球生涯中感到最難以忘記的經歷。

In accordance with the duration of the competition, students will be granted 1 PE hour for their participation
– Students may check-in 15 minutes prior to the competition starts
– Students who arrive late or leave early over 10 minutes will NOT be given any PE hours
– Students who leave the venue during the activity for over 15 minutes will NOT be given any PE hours

The “2024 Volleyball Amateur League (VAL) – Macao Station” was held successfully on 30-31 Mar at UM Sports Complex (N8). University of Macau is the venue supporting unit of this activity. It is organized by 惠動樂 (廈門) 體育文化有限公司 and Volleyball Association of Macao, China, and supported by University of Macau Alumni Association. There were 24 teams with over 300 participants from mainland China and Macao respectively.

The participating teams included:

UM sent a total of 32 students to participate in the competition. At last, both Men’s Volleyball Team and Women’s Volleyball Team (UM Team A) got the 2nd Runner-up, UM Team B got the 5th place of women’s group and the results are as follows:

Activity Highlights  

 

 

 

  

In order to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Macao SAR, OSA organized the “Wuhan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Women’s Volleyball Invitational Tournament” from 2-3 Mar 2024, at N8 UM Sports Pavilion. Women’s Volleyball Teams from Wuhan, Guangdong and Hong Kong  namely Wuhan University (武漢大學), South China Normal University (華南師範大學), Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering (仲愷農業工程學院) and Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (香港恒生大學) are being invited to UM,  19 student athletes from UM Women’s Volleyball Team participated in this competition. Through this exchange activity, UM students had a great opportunity for promoting UM as well as interacting with volleyball players from different regions. After 2-day competition, the final result is shown as follows:

In order to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Macao SAR, OSA is going to organize the “Wuhan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Women’s Volleyball Invitational Tournament” from 2-3 Mar 2024, at N8 UM Sports Pavilion.

The UM Men’s Volleyball Team was being invited to participate in “The Greater Bay Area (GBA) Men’s Volleyball Competition” which was held in Shenzhen on 25 Nov.  Participating teams came from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao respectively.  At last, UM Men’s Volleyball Team got the 5th place in this competition. Through this activity, our team had the opportunity to compete with the athletes from other volleyball teams so as to enhance their skills and experience.

UM Women’s Volleyball Team was being invited to participate in the “Greater Bay Area Invitational Volleyball Competition”. This event was held in Zhongshan from 30 Sep to 1 Oct and the participating teams are from Hong Kong, Macao and Zhongshan respectively. 19 student athletes from UM Women’s Volleyball Team, led by Team Coach (IEONG I KIT), had participated in this competition. At last, UM Women’s Volleyball Team won the 2nd Runner-up, the team member CHAI XIAOFAN (FBA/CKPC) was awarded as the Best Setter and HONG CAIYING (FED/LCWC) was awarded as the Best Blocker respectively in this competition.
