The “UM Invitational Volleyball Competition” was successfully held

In order to strengthen the connection in volleyball fields and better prepare the upcoming competitions, UM Women’s Volleyball Team organized the “UM Invitational Volleyball Competition” and it was held successfully on 26 Feb. Four teams are being invited namely UM Team, UM Alumni Team, Macao Joint Team and Hong Kong Polytechnic University Team respectively. 

Through this exchange activity, UM students had a great opportunity to interact with outstanding volleyball players from local senior level and Hong Kong higher institution, in addition, we also had a chance for promoting UM to other volleyball players.

The final ranking are as follows:
1) Hong Kong Polytechnic University Team
2) Macao Joint Team
3) UM Alumni Team
4) UM Team

澳聯隊隊員

首先，感謝澳門大學邀請。澳聯隊主要由兩批球員組成，即非澳門大學畢業的隊員以及很久以前在澳門大學畢業的隊員。對於前者，她們覺得澳門大學的設備非常完善，為球隊訓練提供了非常好的條件。而對於後者，由於她們是舊澳大畢業的學生，她們亦覺得現時學校的各個設備及場地比以前完善很多。其次，今次邀請的隊伍亦具有相當實力，比賽過程激烈。總括而言，整個比賽過程及安排都相當順利，期待日後有機會再次參加。

感謝母校澳門大學的每年一約，疫情終於漸退，今次比賽能夠邀請到香港大專勁旅一同交流實屬難得。各隊伍實力旗鼓相當，訓練館充斥住吶喊聲，賽事打得相當激之餘各隊都很享受比賽。而且各隊球風不一，亦都有不少的學習機會和經驗累積。期待日後更多本地、甚至非本地的隊伍一同參與澳大邀請賽。

很開心可以參加本次澳門大學排球邀請賽，這次是我們香港理工大學女子排球隊在四年之後的海外集訓，能夠與澳門大學的現役球員和校友用比賽形式交流，我和我的隊友都感到十分榮幸而且獲益良多。在本次邀請賽的安排方面，非常感謝澳門大學女子排球隊隊長的幫助，不只是在球場內，在球場外都給予我們建議和詳細的資料，令我們作為海外人的香港人感到十分貼心，也令我們在這趟旅程中十分愉快。期待未來有機會再次和澳門大學交流。

   Introduction of UM Men’s Volleyball Team and Women’s Volleyball Team Members

 

Highlights of Experience and Games

UM Volleyball Team Fun Day was successfully held

The UM Volleyball Team Fun Day was held successfully on 20 Feb 2023 at UM Sports Complex (N8) and there was a total of 90 UM students participating in this activity.

Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) organized this university team Fun Day with the aim to let UM students to interact with the university team members and to experience team training through designated teaching sessions.

In order to let the participants to know better about our UM Men’s Volleyball Team and Women’s Volleyball Team, besides introducing each team member, the team background and past achievements were also being presented. In order to let participants to have a better understanding of this sport, the basic volleyball rules and regulations were being introduced by team members and instructional videos. After that, participants experienced 4 different kinds of training (passing, setting, serving and spiking) and finally, 8 students had joined the exchange match and interacted with our u-team members.

Both the participants and volleyball team members enjoyed a lot in the Fun Day with positive feedback.

我覺得今天的活動還挺好的，校隊的人都很盡心盡力去教導我們。我參加這活動的目的是想強身健體，希望日後能夠體驗更多的體育項目。如果有機會，我也希望加入成為志願者為澳大體育事業貢獻自己的一份力量。

今次活動對於初次接觸的同學來說是一個非常好的機會去體驗一下打排球，同時也讓同學們對排球這項運動加深了認識。校隊成員的身型和體格都很好，他們亦十分有耐心去教導同學。我十分享受最後和校隊成員進行了一場交流比賽，我也在活動過程中認識到新朋友，如有機會，我想再參加類似的活動。

我本身對排球並不了解的，通過今次活動使我認識到有關排球的規則和玩法，校隊成員對參加者進行特別的指導，還安排了互動，校方給予我們這樣與同學們近距離交流的機會，對於我來說是一個很好的體驗。

The “2023 Volleyball Amateur League (VAL) – Macao Station” was held successfully on 25-26 Jan at UM Sports Complex (N8). This is the first time that VAL is being organized in Macao. There were over 300 participants from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao respectively.

UM sent a total of 28 students to participate in the competition. At last, Men’s Volleyball Team got the 2nd Runner-up, Women’s Volleyball Team got the 3rd Runner-up and the results are as follows:

   

In addition, UM was awarded as the “Most Popular Team” and Sit Chi Kin (FSS/CKLC) from Men’s Volleyball Team was awarded as the “Best Setter” respectively.

Dear Students and Colleagues,

The “2023 Volleyball Amateur League (VAL) – Macao Station” will be held on 25-26 Jan at UM Sports Complex (N8). This is the first time that VAL is being organized in Macao.

UM will send a total of 28 students from Men’s Volleyball Team and Women’s Volleyball Team to participate in the competition.
